Chapter 42 - Cleaning The Mess

After everything was over, Su Lin's master reappeared. He disappeared after pointing at Surya, and now he was showing himself again after Surya's death.

Looking at Surya's dead body, he waved his sleeve and the body vanished like nothing was there before.

"Master, what will you do with the dead body?" Su Lin asked.

"Nothing, just bury him somewhere no one can find him," Su Lin's master replied. Su Lin did not ask where her master was going to bury the body because she knew even if she asked, her master would not tell her. Su Lin's master was good to her and would tell her everything she asked but there were times when he kept things to himself, and this was clearly one of those times.

After that, they left that place. Upon returning to the Xiao sect, Su Lin's master said "It will be better if you go see Asura."

Hearing that, she nervously asked, "Why?"

Her master said "Although Asura is out of danger now, his injuries still need time to heal. Also, bring this to him." Su Lin's master gave her a bottle of liquid. The contents of the bottle looked similar to the water from that pond.

Su Lin became confused. She did not understand why her master was giving her this thing to give to Asura. But suddenly, she realized something and asked "Is Asura also poisoned?"

Her master said "Maybe, I am not sure, I just heard before leaving the medical room he visited Asura secretly. But one of my subordinates spotted him leaving Asura's room, so I guessed maybe he also poisoned Asura. There is a high chance of this because he lost his left arm due to Asura, so he really wanted to torture Asura."

Su Lin cursed "That damn guy, even after dying still causes trouble for people."

Her master said, "Go now. If Asura is really poisoned, his condition will deteriorate as time passes. So, bring this bottle with you. If he is truly poisoned, make him drink from that bottle."

Asura was conscious and resting in his bed. His mother and sister accompanied him after he woke up from the unconscious condition. He looked much better than before, as his external injuries were fully healed and he didn't look as bad as when he fell unconscious outside the stage.

After talking for a while, Asura told them to go home as there was no need for them to stay. The medical team was present to monitor his health, and he assured them that he would be okay even without them and would be discharged soon. After some persuasion, they agreed and left Asura.

Once they left, Asura vomited blood and said with a hint of panic "Not again". For a few days he had been vomiting blood several times a day and he could also feel his cultivation level starting to deteriorate, making him uneasy. The medical team was also helpless against the phenomenon happening to Asura and were researching this was the reason why they had not discharged him.

According to their knowledge, Asura should be fine by now but they were incapable of finding Asura's condition. This was also the reason why Asura was forcing his mother and sister to leave - he didn't want them to worry about his condition.

When Asura was vomiting blood, Su Lin entered his room and saw him in distress. With deep concern, she asked, "Asura, are you alright?"

Managing a faint smile, Asura replied, "I'll be fine. No need to worry."

Su Lin didn't ask further and took out the bottle. She explained the purpose of the bottle her master had given her and her master's analysis about what was happening to Asura and who had caused it. After listening, Asura examined the liquid and asked her, "Is this really a detoxifying liquid? Am I really poisoned?"

After thinking about his condition, he laughed at himself for asking such a stupid question. He had confidence in Su Lin and knew she would not harm him, so after thinking it through, he drank the liquid. Together, they anxiously waited to see if there would be any improvement. After an hour, the effects started to exhibit themselves; Asura was no longer vomiting blood, and he could feel that his cultivation was no longer declining.

Upon checking his condition, Asura was so happy that he hugged Su Lin unconsciously. Su Lin was taken aback by Asura's reaction, not knowing what to do, and her body became stiff as Asura hugged her. After a few seconds, Asura realized what he had done and hurriedly let go of Su Lin, apologizing, "I am sorry, I didn't mean it. I was just so happy that I didn't notice when I hugged you. Please forgive me."

Su Lin's face turned a little red, and she replied, "It's okay. I know you are just happy. I'll be leaving first." After saying this, she left. Once she left Asura's room, her face became as red as an apple, and her heart was beating rapidly.

On the other hand, Asura was deep in thought, wondering why he couldn't control his emotions and had let them take over, causing that embarrassing situation with Su Lin. After some time, his mind stabilized.

Over the next few days, Asura focused on regaining his strength. The medical team was baffled by his rapid recovery and could find no remaining traces of poison in his system. The medical team had determined from their research that Asura's condition was due to a certain poison, and they were trying to find an antidote but now it seemed there was no longer any need for that.

Asura kept the truth to himself because Su Lin had told him not to tell anyone about that bottle when she was explaining about the bottle.

When he was discharged, Asura thought to seek out Su Lin to properly thank her.
