Chereads / My wild boss / Chapter 29 - 29

Chapter 29 - 29

Stephanie's pov:

As I sat in my car outside the clinic looking down at the positive pregnancy results, I guess birth control and protection were not very secure.

"What the heck am I going to do, Jay just got him back."

"Ahh!" I screamed as I ran my fingers through my hair. As I struggled on my decision, there was a sudden knock on my car window.

As I looked up it was a person I never expected to see after 5 years of no contact, I sighed as I rolled down my window.

"What do you want?" I asked bluntly, "is this how you're going to treat your family, after everything we have done for you?!" The lady exclaimed.

"Sorry, but I don't have a family. The only family I know is my son so, if you don't mind please get off my car." I said as I turned on the car and quickly drove off.

I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as I drove away. Seeing my estranged sister brought back a flood of memories I had tried to forget. The pain, the

abandonment—they had never been there for me, and now they had the audacity to show up and demand something from me?

As I drove through the city streets, my mind raced. How was I going to tell Felix? We had just started to rebuild our lives, and things were finally beginning to stabilize. Jay was happy, and we were getting stronger as a family. The thought of adding another baby to the mix was overwhelming.

As I tried to cool my head, I got i call from Felix. I quickly answered it think hearing his voice will make everything better, "hello." I said.

"How far away are you, some lady is here looking for you." He said. "Who?" I asked.

"You're mother" he revealed.

My heart dropped, I quickly ended the call and sped through the streets. Why was all of this happening today out of all day?!

My mind was spinning as I raced home. Why now? Why was my estranged family suddenly showing up just when I thought things were finally falling into place?

I reached the house and saw my mother's car parked outside. My heart pounded as I stepped out and hurried to the door. Felix was waiting for me, looking concerned.

As I spotted her she was sitting down playing with my son, I felt pure disgust and hatred. The woman that made my life a living hell had the audacity to play with my son.

"What are you doing here?" I asked picking up Jay trying to keep my voice calm, "What can't I see my grandson?"

"His not your grandson, your not my mother so you have no right to call my son your grandson." I exclaimed, "You have no right to show up infront of my son claiming to be his grandmother!" I added.

"you threw me out to the streets when I needed you most, I raised and gave birth to him alone. I didn't need you then so I don't need you now!"

"Is this how you speak to your mother, I thought I raised you better than this Stephanie." She added.

I scoffed at the thought, "please get out of my house, you're a fucking stranger to me. I never want to see you close to my kid ever again."

"Please ma'am get out, I don't want security to be called for this." Felix chimed as he opened the door, "This isn't the last time you hear from me." She said pointing her finger as she walked out.

I hugged Jay tightly and bursted out crying, everything I buried down came crawling out at once. "Are you okay baby?" I asked as I brushed his hair out of his face.

"I'm sorry mommy." He said as he hugged me, I felt like my heart was broken into a million pieces.

I held Jay tightly, feeling the weight of my emotions crashing down on me. His small arms wrapped around my neck, and I could feel his little heart beating against my chest. It wasn't his fault. None of this was his fault.

"It's not your fault, baby," I whispered, my voice breaking. "Mommy's just a little upset right now."

Felix gently placed a hand on my back, offering silent support. I looked up at him through tear-filled eyes, grateful for his presence.

Felix guided us to the couch, and we all sat down together. Jay, sensing the tension, snuggled closer to me, his innocent eyes wide with concern.

"Mommy is okay, how about you go play with your toys for a second daddy needs to talk to mommy." Felix said.

Jay nodded as he got down and headed to his play room, as he left I looked up at Felix wiping my tears.

"Why, why would you let that woman touch our son."

He cupped my face and started apologizing, "I'm sorry, I was caught off gaurd."

"Now Jay can't go back to kindergarten, he won't able to see his friends anymore." I stated, "we don't have to pull him out of school, I'll make sure his safe. You don't have to worry about anything, no one is going to take him from you." He said hugging me.

I clung to Felix, drawing strength from his embrace. His reassurances soothed some of the turmoil inside me, but the fear and anger still simmered just below the surface.

In a dimly lit office James stood in a pile of mess clenching his hands into fits, "AHHH! THAT FUCKER!" He screamed as he threw a book straight at Lee and it scratched his face causing him to bleed.

"WHAT THE FUCK DOES FATHER SEE IN HIM, IM THE RIGHTFUL SUCCSSER OF EVERYTHING!" He exclaimed.

"THAT FUCKING RUNWAY SON OF A BITCH DOES DESERVE ANYTHING!" He huffed as he sat and banged his hand on the table.

He looked over at Lee who was standing there his right cheek bleeding but no movement, "FIND A WAY TO KILL THAT WOMAN!" He ordered.

"Yes sir." Lee nodded took a bow and walked out the office.

James paced back and forth, his rage palpable in the dim light of the office. He slammed his fist onto the desk again, the sound echoing off the walls.

"That bastard David thinks he can take everything from me," James muttered to himself, his eyes wild with anger. "I'll show him."

He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, but the fury wouldn't subside. Every time he thought about David and Mary, it ignited a new wave of rage. He had always been the one groomed for success, the one who should inherit everything. But David had swooped in, taking away what was rightfully his.

Lee, now outside the office, wiped the blood from his cheek. He had been James's right-hand man for years, loyal and obedient, but he had never seen his boss this unhinged. He knew better than to question James's orders, even when they involved such a heinous act.

Walking briskly through the corridors, Lee pulled out his phone and made a call. "It's me. We have a situation," he said, his voice cold and detached. "James wants the woman taken care of."

There was a pause on the other end before a voice responded, "Understood. We'll handle it."

———————————

"Don't stress to much, I still need you here with me." Mary said as she fixed David collar.

"Don't worry, I'll hurry back to you." He said as he gave her a kiss.

David gently hugged her and patted her back, "don't you dare look at any other woman." She said, David giggled "I have a wife here, I don't need any other cheap women."

"Good, now you gotta go Mr. Yang is waiting for you." She smiled as she led them downstairs.

Once they got downstairs Mary's mom was in the kitchen cooking, "David gave her one last kiss and headed out."

As Mary closed the door her smile slightly faded, she locked the door and headed to the kitchen.

"Why do you look so sad?" Her mother.

"I don't mom, I'm just so tired of everything." Mary sighed as she took a seat behind the counter. "It feels like ever since I got pregnant things just have been going downhill, I don't know what to do anymore."

"Oh sweetie, it's going to be okay. This could just about the recent events that happened." Her mother stated.

"It's not that, I'm afraid I'm the cause of all of this. Before David and I got into all of this I was just his secretary and he was my boss." She said, "he was doing great before he got involved with me, the companies were doing great, he was happy, he didn't have to worry about his estranged family but, when he got involved with me and I became pregnant everything just came crumbling down." She explained.

Her mother put down the knife she was using to chop vegetables and walked around the counter to sit beside Mary. She took her daughter's hands in hers, looking into her eyes with a gentle, understanding expression.

"Mary, you can't blame yourself for everything that's happened. Life has its ups and downs, and relationships come with their own sets of challenges. David loves you, and the baby is a blessing, not a curse," she said softly.

Mary sighed, feeling the weight of her worries. "I know, Mom, but it just feels like I'm a burden. His family... Theg came back because of me and the baby."

"David chose you, Mary. He saw something in you that made him want to build a life together. His family may have their opinions, but that doesn't mean they're right. You two are creating a family of your own, and that's what matters," her mother reassured her.

Mary nodded, feeling a bit better but still overwhelmed. "It's just hard, you know? I want to be the perfect wife, the perfect mother, but I feel like I'm failing."

Her mother squeezed her hands. "Nobody is perfect, Mary. We all make mistakes and face difficulties. What's important is that you and David support each other. You're stronger together. And remember, I'm always here for you."

Mary gave her mother a small smile, feeling a bit more at ease. "Thanks, Mom. I don't know what I'd do without you."

Her mother returned the smile, standing up to continue cooking. "Now, how about you help me with dinner? It's a good way to keep your mind off things."

Mary got up and joined her mother in the kitchen, finding some comfort in the familiar routine of preparing a meal together.
