"Thanks, Big bro," She said happily then stood up and skipped out of the room while making a mental note to call Gina and inform her of her decision.
After the door was closed, Carl picked up his phone from the bedside table, then sent a text before dialing his assistant's number to give him some instructions.
"S... Sir about the business trip," David asked from the other end just as his boss was about to hang up the call as he thought back to the email he had also received a while ago.
"Next week," Carl replied curtly then hung up the call.
He stood up from the bed after a while, then picked up his car keys and walked out of the room.
"Son, are you leaving already?" His stepmother suddenly walked toward him with a worried expression and watched as he nodded.
Straightening up, she placed her palm on his forehead and sighed inside. "Don't overwork yourself... okay?" She ordered softly.
"Mm." Carl nodded again then pecked her on the cheek and he continued walking through the hallway, toward the stairs.
The woman's sad gaze followed his back until he disappeared out of her sight and she sighed heavily then turned around and started walking back to her room.

__ A Few Days Later __
** Cha Corporation **
Inside the CEO's office, the place was eerily quiet with only the flicking of papers now and then, the only sound in the room, as the assistant carefully arranged so many documents inside a briefcase.
He would glance up now and then at his boss who was deeply engrossed in his work as usual and after he had finished packing the documents he glanced down at his wristwatch and sighed inside.
"S... Sir, it is almost time for our flight," he muttered respectfully after clearing his throat to grab his boss's attention, then glanced at the window.
Carl slowly sipped the coffee in front of him and slowly looked up then also glanced at the sky through the large floor-to-ceiling window and also realized that it was dark outside already. "Mm." He gave the assistant a nod, then stood up and started walking out of the office.
David carefully closed the laptop and picked it up then put it inside another briefcase before he followed his boss out of the office.
The secretaries area was already empty as the working hours were already over, some hours ago.
They walked inside the elevator and soon reached the parking lot where the driver was already waiting for them at the front of the car.
The driver quickly took the two suitcases from the assistant who had already sat down in the passenger seat after their boss had entered the backseat.
After dropping the suitcase he also walked inside the car and started driving them out of the company, toward the city's airport.
The car ride was very long and the sky was very dark outside with only the short sounds of notifications that rings now and then from the assistant's phone and disrupting the silent atmosphere in the car.
David felt like breaking down, seeing the countless messages from his wife that kept popping on his phone continuously. He slowly sneaked a glance at his boss who was in the backseat, through the rearview mirror, and noticed that he had his eyes shut.
But he knew better that his boss was not sleeping, feeling the suppressing aura coming from him.
He finally put the phone on silent after sending a reply to his wife who had been disturbing him about when the business trip would be over and when he'll be back. He couldn't discern the mood of a pregnant woman as they had just bid each other goodbye on the phone a few hours ago.
After some time, It was already past midnight and the car finally arrived at the airport which was still bustling with a lot of people. They instantly boarded the plane which was about to take off, while the driver drove back to the city with the car.

**Inside the plane, at the business class area**
David glanced sideways at his boss who had now resumed working on his laptop after they boarded the plane and he sighed inside while looking down at his wristwatch again.
His thoughts wandered back to the familiar figure he had seen a while ago before they board the plane and the small frown on his forehead slowly deepened.
As he was also sure that his boss had noticed the girl after watching him glance in her direction where she was sitting in the waiting area.
Several minutes passed by as he was slightly dozing off and he would glance now and then at his boss whose unending attention was still fixed on the laptop's screen.
After fruitlessly fighting to keep awake for a very long time, he finally succumbed to his weariness and instantly fell asleep.

__ The Next Morning __
The plane finally landed in City X and Carl strode out of the airport, now dressed in a new set of a business suit, with his assistant hurrying behind him while holding the two suitcases in his hands.
David's gaze wandered around the airport as they walked toward the entrance where a driver was already waiting for them in front of the car.
Even though it was still very early in the morning the place was already crowded with people. And he could also notice a lot of people glancing in their direction. Some with shocked expressions, while some had already brought out their cameras with excited looks.
He chuckled softly, knowing well the reason why they were all surprised. Because not only in City M, but his boss had grown so popular across the whole country Z.
His attention turned to his boss as he tried to keep up with his large strides and he sighed inside, wondering if he had even slept last night, as when he woke up this morning, he had still found him staring into his laptop.
