Chapter 263 - CHAPTER 263: WHERE DID YOU COME FROM (1)

And after some minutes, many bottles of wine were sprawled up on the counter, with the guy's head buried between his arms as it lay on the counter and the slight trembling of his shoulders was the only sign that he had not fallen asleep, inside the dimly lit apartment.

                     ********

           __ The Next Day __

            ** Cha Mansion **

The whole mansion was eerily quiet adding more to the gloomy atmosphere inside the large living room and the sounds of slow footsteps could be heard from the stairs.

The middle-aged man who wore a dark suit held his wife's arm who also wore a dark dress, he supported her down the stairs with a sigh while staring down at her puffy eyes.

Lucy who had also worn a black dress sighed inside while slowly following her parents down the stairs gloomily.

Her eyes lit up slightly, as she spotted her brother walking inside the bedroom with his wife who was also dressed in dark clothes.

"Big Sis..." She hurried toward Mira then hugged her instantly. "Where's Big bro?" She asked softly while glancing at the door's entrance expectantly.

"He'll come soon," Mira replied with a small smile and after releasing her from the hug, she walked toward the older couple then greeted them.

Zach also walked toward his parents and greeted them after glaring at his sister, as he thought back to what she had called him the last time he came here to the mansion.

Lucy pouted as she glared at his back. She was mad at him that he couldn't get her Big Sis pregnant that was why she had called him impotent. Her thoughts drifted back to how he had twisted her hand that day and even her parents who had scolded her and she grimaced inside. Unfortunately, her Big brother who had rarely come to the mansion was not around to save her.

She was still grumbling inside when her gaze subconsciously darted to the entrance and her eyes instantly lit up then she hurried toward her brother who was walking inside. "Big bro," She greeted happily and Carl glanced down at her with a barely noticeable smile then ruffled her hair.

His gaze lingered on her large eyes which reminded him so much of someone and he sighed inside while his expression slowly turned gloomy.

"Mum, Father..." He greeted softly as the couple reached their sides then they all walked out of the building, toward the cars.

Zach drove off in his car with Mira while Lucy joined their parents inside another car, where the driver was already waiting for them.

She didn't request to join her Big brother who had also driven off in his own car, knowing well that she reminds him so much of her late cousin.

The cars drove to the far end of the city and after an hour, they finally arrived at the cemetery.

Everyone walked inside silently, as they each held a flower bouquet in their hands.

They were still walking toward the old man's grave when they suddenly noticed a figure slowly walking in their direction with a tear-streaked face and puffy eyes and they thought back to the car they had seen at the cemetery's gate.

Spotting the family who had stopped walking and was standing in front of her, the woman who was also dressed in a black dress glanced down slowly while wiping her tears.

After hearing about the malicious things her dead husband had done to this family, she still hadn't the courage to face them.

"Esther..." The middle-aged woman walked forward then wrapped her in a hug as she had also started sobbing.

Knowing well that this woman is also a victim of her brother's evil, as she had also lost her only daughter.

The women hugged each other for some seconds while sobbing softly then slowly broke away from each other.

Lucy and Mira who were also wiping their tears walked forward and also hugged the woman who looks a lot like Vivian.

After parting away from the girls, the woman greeted the older man then turned to the guys and also gave them quick hugs before she continued walking out of the cemetery.

Everyone's gaze followed her back and they all sighed heavily, then turned around and continued walking forward in slow footsteps.

After reaching the old man's grave, they all placed the flowers down, and the middle-aged woman who was sobbing softly finally burst into tears as she slumped down in front of her father's grave.

Even though the old man had finally forgiven her on his death bed, the guilt still ate her every day, knowing that if she had informed him earlier, then he would have at least get to see his granddaughter.

Her sobs intensified and the girls who were silently standing behind her also broke into sobs as they stared down at the grave while the three men comforted them with heavy sighs.

Both Carl and Zach walked toward the woman and carefully helped her up as her sobs kept increasing with each second.

               "It's alright Mum."

             "Please stop crying."

They both muttered with sighs while their father also walked forward and wrapped her in a hug while comforting her.

Some minutes passed by before the woman finally quieted down and they all sighed again while staring at the grave sadly.

Nobody had ever known that the evil man was not the biological son of the old man until he had revealed it before his death. The old man had also not expected him to be the one behind all those malicious things that had happened in his family.

A few seconds later, their heads snapped to the girl who had suddenly walked in their direction from a nearby grave and they all stared at her with small frowns.

After stopping in front of the family whose gazes were fixed on her, Kelly bowed slightly then slowly turned to the old man's grave and placed down the two flower bouquets which were in her hands and everyone watched her confusedly while wondering why she had dropped the two bouquets.
