Chapter 249 - CHAPTER 249: APOLOGIZE (1)

Clara's father who had been standing behind the old man, calmly watched the show unfold.

"I can see that you boys are still rebellious." The old man also chuckled darkly as he watched them with cold eyes. He couldn't believe that all along, it was one of these boys that had broken his little Pearl's heart and had to make her undergo such pain.

"Little Boys, we have a lot of bones to pick with you. However, that is not the most important matter at hand, let's focus on how to save my Pearl first... But before then, apologize," He continued with a calm expression, however, anger was evident in his voice.

"And why would we do that?" Carl's expression darkened and he clenched his fist, seeing that the man was serious. He could also remember the number of men they had lost in that battle.

By then, Zach had already sprung up from the chair and pointing a shaky finger at the old man. "Argh! old man, aren't you supposed to be the ones apologizing to us? You made my brother suffer a memory loss for so many years, you killed most of our men some years ago, and now you're asking us to apologize!!!?"

The old man chuckled again while slightly tapping his fingers on the armrest of the chair. "Since you boys are not ready to apologize__, Richard, tell our men to start looking for my Pearl... We can do it without their help. And besides, it is also because of him that those foolish idiots took her." He turned to the man standing behind him while standing up from the chair.

"Hehe... With this few numbers of men that you have left, I doubt that?" Carl muttered calmly and also chuckled, still staring at the old man coldly.

"Haha... see that old man, you don't have a choice but to tell us everything you know, and besides, sister-in-law is our responsibility, remember?" Zach stared at the old man's expression gleefully while slowly shaking his head. Does this man think he can outwit them?

The old man scoffed and sat back down again. "You boys are really something. But it was very entertaining to watch you make a fool of yourselves. You literally attacked us first, I'm not going to repeat myself, apologize," he muttered with a dark expression and the temperature inside the room instantly dropped.

"Why would we attack you first, even though your organization was at the top at that time, Why would we be bordered with you?" Zach retorted with a dark expression. But looking at this old man's expression, the man doesn't seem like he's joking.

Carl whose gaze was also fixed on the man's dark expression frowned slightly and he glanced sideways at his brother who had suddenly glanced toward him and their eyes widened slightly.

"B... Big bro, but those tattoos at that time surely belonged to the Vipers," Zach stammered, not wanting to believe the intuition he just had. It was really them, right? However, this old man... He watched as his brother slowly shook his head and a gasp escaped his lips.

"Shit!!! Don't tell me it was the Mambas doing." He exclaimed perplexedly.

"Mm." Carl nodded calmly as his thoughts wandered to what his brother had told him about the Mambas imitating other organizations' tattoos.

Their heads snapped to the old man who had suddenly let out a chuckle and they both looked down slowly.

Those Mambas are really something. It seems like their mysterious leader has been vying for the top position for many years now, and had been planning since then.

They had actually caused a fight between them and the Vipers organization so that if one falls, their work is going to be easier. Hehe... How meticulous.

                 "We're sorry."

                 "We're sorry."

Both brothers muttered at the same time and the old man slowly shook his head with another chuckle. "Apology accepted... However, the number of men we lose in that battle was very vast so we're still enemies, even after my Pearl is saved," he said unhurriedly and watched as the two brothers slowly nodded.

Zach sighed inside and clenched his fist as his expression darkened once more. Now he can't wait to get a hold of that stupid organization's mysterious leader.

They had really underestimated that organization, again.

The room sank into silence for a few seconds before the old man sighed heavily.

"She was one of us... Sophia," He muttered with another sigh then glanced down slowly.

"What!?" Zach exclaimed. "W... Who is one of you? You mean sister-in-law's mother?"

"Yes." The old man slowly nodded and continued after some seconds. "In fact, she and her husband even helped founded this organization."

Both brothers listened silently in disbelief. Clara's parents were Mafia members? This is a huge revelation. It was no wonder that their stepmother had told them that her sister doesn't usually stay home when they were growing up.

"They were very important members of this organization, until their unfortunate death__" The old man added with another sigh.

Both Carl and Zach sighed heavily, as they also remembered what their stepmother had said about their car accident. It was a great thing that the baby was already with Jack's mother at that time.

The old man sighed heavily, remembering the girl who had sacrificed a lot for this organization. "It wasn't just a simple accident." He slowly shook his head while staring back at the guys who were now looking at him in shock.

"It was a setup." He continued. "The car accident was a setup... and before she passed away, she had asked me to watch after her daughter... She entrusted the baby to us."

Carl sighed again and slowly nodded. "Was that the reason why you took her?" He asked softly and watched as the old man slowly nodded.

"We were looking for an opportunity to take her away, and coincidentally... That night, we were lucky that you were fast enough, and the men did not get to harm her," He replied gloomily.

"And do you have to wipe my brother's memory and make him think that he killed her?"
