"And do you have to wipe my brother's memory and make him think that he killed her?" Zach finally spoke up and the old man glanced at them apologetically.
"That is the only way to make them think that she died... Because we didn't know those men that tried to harm her and we couldn't take any risk," He muttered softly and the man who had been standing behind him and silently listening to their conversation also sighed.
"Does that person perhaps have something to do with her parents' death?" Carl asked after some seconds and watched as the old man nodded.
"Then who is he? Do you know the person?" Zach asked seriously, wondering why the person was after the baby's life even after murdering her parents. He couldn't believe that sister-in-law's life was so complicated as this. He sighed heavily then heard the man continued.
"Her life is in danger... We also wished we could find that person, who is only known by her mother... She never gets to mention who it is." The old man slowly shook his head with a sigh.
He could remember how the girl had pleaded with him with tears to protect her baby. He was even surprised at that time, also thinking about why someone would try to harm a baby.
They had kept an eye on the baby since then, and that night, they had swiftly planned the baby's death, after getting rid of those masked men.
His thoughts wandered to the girl and her husband and he sighed heavily. "We were all taken by surprise by the car accident. We couldn't protect them, so we had vowed to protect their baby."
Zach sighed and looked down again, so sister-in-law's life had been in danger since birth. And now, she had gotten entangled in another life-threatening condition. "But the baby that you guys exchanged with her, they're really identical__ how is that possible?..." He muttered in confusion then a thought suddenly hit him. "Unless__"
The old man's chuckle made him stopped mid-sentence then his eyes widened, and he glanced sideways at his brother who had also let out a chuckle.
"Humanoid," Carl muttered calmly, with his gaze still fixed on the old man who had nodded. He had also guessed that, as their stepmother had never mentioned that the baby had a twin or sibling.
'These people are really scary... How can they fool everyone so meticulously?' Zach who couldn't close his mouth finally let out a chuckle while giving the old man a pointed look. It was a miracle that they had managed to defeat them years ago.
Carl suddenly glanced down at his wristwatch then stood up. Now, that the secret of that deadly organization has all been revealed. He doesn't want to waste any time. Who knew what those crazy people would do?
"Now, that everything is sorted out, we don't have time to lose." Zach also stood up while rubbing the sleep off his eyes, remembering the sleepless night they had.
"Richard, inform our men to get ready," The old man glanced back at the man who was standing silently behind him.
"Yes, Boss." The middle-aged man nodded hurriedly then strode away in a random direction.
Standing up, the old man turned his attention to the guys who were now standing in front of him. "I'm very sure that if they're not in this city, then they aren't far from here. Start searching for their signal, we'll also do that__"
Both Carl and Zach nodded with serious expressions. They both turned back and walked out of the house, toward where the car was parked in front of the huge gate which opened automatically.
After they got inside the car, Zach started driving and he glanced sideways at his brother who was slightly rubbing his forehead. A sigh escaped his lips and just as he was about to talk, the sound of his phone's ringing suddenly erupted the silence in the car.
After taking out the phone, his eyes widened slightly at the caller's name displayed and he glanced sideways at his brother who now had his eyes closed, then he hurriedly answered it.
"Mum." He greeted the person at the other end.
"Son, what happened to Pearl? Where is she? Lucy told me that she had been kidnapped, is it true?"
Came their stepmother's anxious voice and he sighed heavily while wondering how she knew, as he had told Mira not to inform her. Gina may have spilled it to the girl after hearing it from Maya.
"Don't worry Mum, she'll be fine, Big bro and I are still searching for her," he replied softly with a sigh.
"Mum?" He sighed again, hearing the woman sobbing from the other end.
"So it was true... Son, where's your brother? Please make sure you find her soon," he heard her muttered hurriedly then he quickly nodded and answered,
"Big bro is also here with me. And we've found those men that took her away, don't worry, she'll be found soon."
"Really?" The woman gasped from the other end then sighed. "That's a relief... Pls make sure she's safe and bring her back soon," She muttered hurriedly, remembering her sick father, she couldn't wait to inform him.
"Okay, Mum... Goodnight." Zach nodded and after hanging up, dropped down his phone and glanced sideways again at his brother with another sigh.
Several minutes passed by before they finally arrived at the basement and they can see some of their men, hauling some masked men inside.
Carl got out of the car and started walking toward the opened entrance and Zach also got out then followed behind him.
Inside the basement, they went directly to the cells where those men were been kept, and just as expected, their answers were still the same.
After walking out of the cell, Carl glanced sideways at his brother and said, "Tell all our men to be on standby... We're going there immediately we find out where she is."
"Okay." Zach nodded hurriedly then pressed the small bluetooth on his left ear and started giving some instructions as they walked toward the elevator which leads to the suite.
