Chapter 204 - CHAPTER 204: IT IS HER (2)

                             ********

                  __ At Cha Mansion __

"Mummy, wait for me..." Lucy whined helplessly while running after her parents who were rushing out of the house.

Ever since her mother had gotten better, the woman had been acting weird and uttering some words which only her father could understand.

"Argh! Mummy?" She sighed exasperatedly as the couple was about to enter the car and she quickly increased her space and caught up to them while holding tightly to her bag.

Her father turned back with a glare as he was about to open the backdoor for his wife. "Lucy, go back... It is a very important matter."

"No, Henry... Let her come. She also needs to know," The woman said happily and turned to her daughter. "Lucy, hurry. before your brother goes to work."

Lucy nodded excitedly and entered the passenger seat whose door was already opened by the driver.

"Henry, do you think I should call and inform father?" The woman turned to her husband with a huge grin as the car drove out of the mansion.

"No, Grace." The man shook his head with a chuckle then said, "Let's go and confirm things first... Maybe he was just bluffing due to anger."

"Okay." The woman sighed as she remembered what Zach had told her about the thing that happened to the girl. "Henry... I hope my sister could forgive me." She sobbed softly and the man held her shoulders.

"Don't worry Grace... We should hope that it is her," he said softly and also sighed, as everything seems just confusing.

"I'm very sure it is her... It is truly her, they're exactly alike." The woman nodded affirmatively and wiped her tears. She couldn't believe it.

Lucy who had been listening to them silently finally sighed and turned back from the passenger seat. "Mummy, who are you talking about? And what do you want to tell Grandpa and Big brother?" She asked rapidly and the driver perked up his ears.

He was also confused at why the madam was crying and laughing at the same time.

"Shut up Lucy, you'll know when we get there." Her father cut her off and the girl pursed her lips then continued looking ahead while the driver sighed inside in disappointment.

Several minutes later, the car finally arrived at the silent neighborhood and the girl sighed in relief.

"Lucy, quick go and get your brother," her mother said, referring to Zach. "And also call Mira... they need to be present."

"Okay." Lucy nodded quickly and walked out of the car, toward the other house."

         *****

Inside the house, Clara ate the food with her head down, feeling more uncomfortable with every moment under the guy's soft gaze.

She could see that he really does like her and her mind was in a mess.

After seeing that her babies had finished eating, she sighed in relief and dropped her spoon then quickly stood up and rapidly muttered, "Uhm... Big Brother, thank you for the food and also your help last night... I'll take my leave now."

"Mm." Carl nodded with a small smile and also dropped his spoon. "Let me take you back."

"Oh... okay." Clara nodded then glanced at the wall clock. It's almost seven-thirty. She sighed inside then turned to the kids. "Let's go babies."

The twins nodded slowly and Carl picked them up with a chuckle and started walking toward the door.

Clara stared at his back for some seconds then sighed inside and followed behind him.

Hearing a commotion from the door, she paused in her footsteps with a small frown and watched as a middle-aged man and woman walked inside with the guy following behind them, in confusion.

"H..Henry." The woman stilled with a gasp as she stared wide-eyed at the girl. "See... It's her, it is really her." She turned to her husband who was also shocked and tears started rushing down her face.

Clara frowned while staring at the baffled couple. What does the woman mean? And why are they acting like they have seen a ghost?

Her thoughts wandered to what happened at City H and she instantly had a bad premonition in her heart then a gasp escaped her lips as the woman had suddenly hugged her.

"I'm so sorry dear... I am very sorry." The woman sobbed while tightening her arms around the girl." You really are my Pearl... I'm really sorry."

By then, a smile had already bloomed on the middle-aged man's face... She really did looks like his late sister-in-law that his wife had shown him in the picture. But how is it possible?

Hearing the word Pearl, Clara broke out of her shock and sighed exasperatedly. Her instincts were really right. "Uhmm... Ma'am, I'm really sorry, I have no idea who you're talking about," she explained patiently.

"No, you're really Pearl, you look a lot like my sister." The woman shook her head frantically while staring at the girl's face.

Clara felt a headache coming and she sighed exasperatedly. What has she gotten into? It seems like this family and Jack's parents are related. She glanced at the guy who was still holding the babies and staring at them in shock. 'Argh' does he also thinks I'm that ghost.

Wriggling out of the woman's embrace, she sprinted past the couple and rushed toward him.

Carl broke out of his shock and stared down at her dazedly. 'No, it can't be.' He glanced at his stepmother who was now sobbing on the couch and his frown deepened.

"Big brother?" Clara called out exasperatedly and hurriedly grabbed one of the twins who were also confused and she rushed out of his house.

Carl broke out of his shock and quickly followed her as everything slowly registered to him. It was truly her... A smile bloomed on his face while he caught up to her.

"Clara." He chuckled and watched as the girl turned back and stared at him in confusion.

He sighed happily then called out to the driver and gave him his car keys. "Take her home," he muttered and the driver quickly nodded.
