Glancing around the room at the excited faces of all the people present. Jack's attention returned to the girl who was looking down with a small smile.
Heaving a deep breath, he slowly released her hands then shoved a hand inside his pocket while his heartbeat accelerate.
Amidst the cheering of the people, Lily bit her lips as her cheeks turned red with each second. She felt him loosened his hold on her and just as she look up their gazes met then her eyes darted to the small box of ring in his hand.
The huge diamond ring sparkled brightly against the light, reflecting the different colors of flowers and decorations surrounding them, and everyone marveled at its sight.
Heaving another breath, Jack's eyes darted to the peering gazes surrounding them, then his attention returned to the girl with his smile broadening by each second.
It is actually Lily standing in front of him. This isn't a hallucination, right? He wasn't still sleeping, right.? He chuckled.
Taking the huge diamond ring out of the box with trembling fingers, he heaved another deep breath again.
Small gasps erupted from all the servants present. The older couple and their kids already anticipated it. and Clara and Mira were still standing motionless, as everything had already registered to them.
The pair were like a match made in heaven, with one gorgeously dressed in a black suit towering over the delicate beauty in white and the atmosphere around them had a glowing feeling to it.
Everyone watched quietly in anticipation as the guy pulled the huge ring out of the box and slowly knelt on one knee in front of the girl.
By now her heartbeat had turned normal, however, Lily felt her vision blurred with tears as she watched the guy kneeling in front of her.
This is her Jack, right? And it isn't a dream.
Tears subconsciously fell from her eyes as she listened to his heartfelt confessions. And even though she couldn't register those words amidst the thoughts that were buzzing in her head. One word instantly caught her senses.
'Will You Marry Me?'
Jack watched patiently as she was broke out of her trance by the cheering of the crowd. His face broke into a smile once more as she slowly nodded with a whisper and even though he couldn't hear what she said, he knew it. 'She said, yes'.
Even though he already expected that word, the feeling of bliss in his heart, increased to an ultimate level and he slowly lifted his hand whose tremor had not subsided then carefully insert the ring in her extended finger.
Everyone cheered again as they watched the couple hugged affectionately. The maids were wiping their tears and Freya's parents smiled proudly at their daughter who was also watching the scene with a slight smile.
"Hmmm... this Freya is surely an angel." Mira turned to Clara whose tears were falling rapidly as she happily watched the couple.
"Yeah." Clara nodded and slowly wiped her tears. She had never expected this turn of events and had thought her sister would be heartbroken perpetually. She chuckled with a contented sigh and held Mira's hands who also chuckled.
Lily glanced up at the guy whose soft gaze was fixed on her while her arms were still wrapped around him. She sighed contentedly and placed her head back on his chest.
"Hey, what are you waiting for?"
"Yeah, kiss her already..."
The twins groaned and Jack looked up then glanced around at the audience who were staring at them expectantly. He shook his head with a chuckle then turned back to the girl whose cheeks had already turned red.
Slowly lowering his head, he watched as her eyes widened slightly and he laughed softly then pecked her on the cheek.
"Argh!"
"Come on!."
The twins whined and even the servants sighed in disappointment while Mira rolled her eyes and Clara chuckled.
Lily laughed softly and placed a hand on the cheek he had just kissed. She slowly loosened her arms around him and they turned to the older couple who were approaching them.
"Auntie..., Uncle," Jack greeted his father's sister and her husband.
The woman patted his shoulder with a small smile then turned to the girl. "Lily, right?" She asked softly.
Lily slowly nodded with a small smile and gasped softly as the woman suddenly wrapped her arms around her.
Jack's Auntie sighed as she patted the girl's back. It was a great thing that their daughter had made the decision to call off the engagement. She couldn't imagine how her daughter's life would be if she married a man that is already in love with someone else.
"It is very unfortunate that my sister-in-law had fallen sick. She would have marveled at how beautiful how pretty her daughter-in-law is," She said with a chuckle while releasing the girl from the hug then turned back and glared at her sons who were the masterminds about the ghost prank.
Jack chuckled and nodded after glancing at Lily then his attention turned to Freya who was also approaching them.
"Brother." Freya smiled at him softly and he also smiled back. She turned to Lily and also hugged her. " Please take care of him," she whispered with a sniff as her eyes tinged.
Lily nodded and also wrapped her arms around the girl. "Thank you," she also whispered and Freya nodded with a chuckle then they broke out of the hug.
By then, the servants had started going back to their works and both Clara and Mira walked toward the couple with wide smiles.
"Big Sis," Lily hugged her sister and Mira chuckled while staring at the huge diamond ring on the girl's finger.
She had made a mental note to blow off the guy's head if she ever sees him in City M again. 'Hehe, Jack... what a narrow escape.'
Jack scowled at the girl who was staring at him mischievously then turned to his Auntie again.
