" Oh." Clara nodded and remembering that her phone was shattered beyond repair she sighed inside and continued walking.
" What happened to her phone?" Mira turned to them and asked with knitted brows.
" It fell on the floor, " Lily replied softly with a small smile and Clara nodded gloomily.
"Oh... So sorry to hear that..." Mira nodded then took out her phone while they walked out of the glass door.
She dialed Jack's number and after a while, it was picked up from the other end.
" Hey Mira, finally remembered me?" Jack's calm voice sounded from the other end and Mira rolled her eyes.
" You'd better pick us now from the airport if you want a peaceful engagement." She snapped and Jack chuckled.
" What? You're gonna sabotage it?"
" That would be a good idea, " Mira replied scornfully then ended the call.
" Hmph, annoying guy." She rolled her eyes and Clara who had been watching her with a small smile finally chuckled.
" Mira, do you like Jack, " she asked sweetly and Mira's jaw dropped. She was about to retort when their heads snapped to Lily who suddenly let out a small gasp.
Mira gazed at Lily for some seconds then turned to her friend. " Hehehe Clara, I've truly underestimated your level of humor."
Clara chuckled with a shrug and Lily watched them silently with a sigh and glanced forward at the busy street and the many cars passing by under the bright glow of the various streetlights.
Some minutes later, a car arrived in front of them and the driver got out and hurried toward them.
" Excuse me Ma'ams, are you perhaps here for the engagement?" He asked while looking between the three of them and they all nodded.
The man hurriedly helped them load their bags inside the car's trunk while they entered the backseat.
__ Several Hours Later __
They arrived in front of an enormous mansion at the heart of the city, which stood in a residential area where many similar buildings in different layouts were located, and lined up side by side with a little distance between them.
" Wow... This is beautiful. Jack's parents must be so rich," Clara exclaimed while staring out of the window, as the car entered the huge mansion.
Mira nodded with a chuckle then also glanced out through the car's window at the huge water fountain and the many cars that were parked inside the mansion while some cars still followed behind them.
"Huh?... I thought the engagement is next tomorrow, " she muttered with a small frown.
Clara chuckled with a nod while also looking at the cars. " Jack had once told me that they have so many relatives in other cities, including City M and most of his business partners are there."
" Oh." Mira nodded in understanding as the driver also parked the car along with the many cars. She glanced at Lily who had been quiet throughout the ride then slightly nudged Clara.
" Hey, is something wrong with your sister?" She asked in a whisper and Clara frowned slightly then shook her head.
" My sister is always like that... She doesn't talk much, " she replied with a small smile as they walked out of the car.
" Oh... I see." Mira nodded in realization and smiled at Lily who smiled back softly.
They were about to pick up their luggage when three servants in uniforms suddenly rushed toward them and picked them up.
" please follows us, ladies, " said one of the servants, and the three girls followed behind them toward a building inside the mansion, and they also noticed another bigger building far behind it, which could be where the family resides.
They walked behind the servants who took them inside the building, to one of the guestrooms after passing by many doors in the hallway.
Clara sighed in relief and slumped down on the large bed after the servants left, while Mira took their luggage and dropped them inside the empty closet.
" Ahh... I'm so tired, " Clara muttered with a yawn and her friend also joined her on the bed while Lily entered the bathroom.
" Clara? Any news from Big brother?" Mira cheerfully asked after some minutes as she took out her phone.
Clara yawned again and lay on her side then faced her. " I don't have a Big brother, Mira, " she muttered lazily while trying to suppress another yawn.
Mira chuckled then shook her head. " I get it, Clara, you don't want to tell me anything... right?" she gave her friend a scrutinizing look then scoffed and turned back to her phone.
Clara was about to reply when another yawn overtook her again and she stood up then staggered toward the bathroom.
" Lily?." She lightly knocked on the bathroom door while rubbing her eyes then frowned after some seconds and knocked again.
" What is wrong?" Mira glanced up from her phone and Clara stared back at her in confusion then turned the doorknob and slightly opened the door.
She was about to enter when Lily suddenly came out in a bathrobe with her head hanging down then slowly walked toward the closet.
Clara's brows furrowed slightly and she glanced back at her back then staggered inside the bathroom with another yawn while Mira's gaze also followed the girl for some seconds then she turned back to her phone.
Lily carefully changed into her pajamas and another sigh escaped her lips. She was still in her thoughts, then gasped slightly as they suddenly heard soft knocks from the door.
" Lily, can you please get the door?" Mira asked from the bed as her attention was still on her phone and the girl nodded a reply then slowly walked toward the door.
Sighing inside, Lily bit her lips while her hand trembled slightly as it reached the doorknob.
The knock sounded again and she heaved a deep sigh then slowly opened it.
Jack gasped slightly as he stared down at the girl who was looking down and had her wet hair covering one side of her face.
He shoved one hand in his pocket and heaved a sigh while his foots shifted on the ground.
