Chapter 28 - Pea Shooter?

Staring at Rebecca in front of him, Morty's gaze was complicated. This girl had such strength.

However, just as he thought of this, Rebecca's delicate body suddenly swayed, and she fell on her back.

Morty was shocked and quickly went forward to support her. He lowered her head and saw that Rebecca's eyes were already a little unfocused, and her breathing was extremely rapid. Her originally rosy cheeks were now extremely pale, and her lips were trembling slightly. She said with all her might, "Quick, let's go…"

With that, she tilted her head and fainted.

"Rebecca, Rebecca!"

Morty hurriedly called out, but Rebecca did not respond at all. If it wasn't for the fact that her chest was still heaving up and down, he would have thought that Rebecca was already dead.

BOOM!

Another terrifying explosion sounded. The flames shrank again, and at the same time, half of the zombie army was reduced.

If this continued, most of the zombie army would still be left until the flames disappeared.

Looking at Rebecca, who had lost consciousness in his arms, Morty gritted his teeth and placed her on his back. He endured the pain in his right leg and rushed toward the manor.

He couldn't waste the opportunity Rebecca had created with all her might.

With another weight on his back, Morty's energy was rapidly diminishing, but he seemed to be unaware of it. There was only one thought in his mind: Run! Survive!

About three minutes later, there was another explosion behind him. Compared to the previous explosion, the noise this time was much smaller.

Morty understood that the flames that had stopped the zombie army had completely disappeared.

Soon, the sound of rapid footsteps behind him confirmed this.

At this moment, he was at the periphery of the forest. Through the dense trees, he could already see his manor.

"Faster, faster!"

Morty gritted his teeth and squeezed out a trace of strength from his body again. He stumbled and ran towards the manor.

The zombie army was very fast. Just as he was about to rush out of the forest, three zombies caught up to him.

ROAR!

The evil aura behind him was not friendly. Morty did not dare to be careless. He kicked his left leg hard and pounced forward.

Plop!

Morty fell heavily to the ground. At the same time, the sound of something heavy falling could be heard behind him.

Looking back, it turned out that the zombie that had just pounced on him had missed and fallen to the ground. Not only that, but the other two zombies had also tripped over something as well, and the three zombies were struggling on the ground, unable to stand up for a long time.

"A bunch of brainless animals!" Morty gasped and cursed, but soon, a few more zombies rushed out of the forest.

"Damn it!"

Morty did not dare to be careless and quickly rushed into the manor.

However, when he saw the field at the side, he suddenly remembered that he had already picked the corn that could attack people. There were only some pitiful peas left in the field.

This meant that even if they returned to the manor, they would only kill two more people.

"F*ck!" Morty gritted his teeth and cursed herself for being an idiot for forgetting the most important thing.

Looking at the zombie army charging at him, Morty felt despair. His physical strength had already reached its limit, and his legs were trembling non-stop. He could not exert any strength. Rebecca had also fallen unconscious, and the two maids did not have much combat power to begin with.

He was truly at a dead end!

What should he do? What should he do?

Morty quickly thought of a countermeasure, but the zombie army had already pounced over.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The sound of air being torn apart could be heard. In the next second, the zombies in front of them seemed to have been hit by a train. They suddenly fell with their heads up. Their bodies twitched a few times before they stopped moving.

"What was that?!"

Morty was shocked. He turned his head and revealed a happy expression.

In the ground, the peas that were originally motionless began to shake. The plump peas fell off from the seedlings one after another, then flew out like bullets, hitting the zombie's head heavily. The zombie's head that could not be damaged by an ax was like paper in front of the peas, easily pierced through.

What made Morty even more surprised was that the pea could regenerate. After the pea pods fell off, they regenerated at a speed visible to the naked eye, as if they would never be exhausted.

Under this special firepower, the zombie army fell like harvested wheat.

"Good! Die!" Morty was extremely excited. He clenched his fists and secretly cheered the plant on. "Go on! It's best to kill these disgusting monsters!"

He and Rebecca had almost lost their lives in the mouths of these animals. One could imagine how much Morty hated these zombies at this moment.

Suddenly, a strange roar came from the forest.

ROAR!

As soon as the noise fell, the originally fearless zombies seemed to have been immobilized. They stood motionless on the spot, then turned around and retreated into the forest.

"What's going on?"

Morty was puzzled. He realized that this creature was not as simple as he had imagined.

However, he was not in the mood to think so much at the moment. The moment he relaxed, fatigue and pain surged up at the same time. His body swayed and he fell to the ground.

Hearing the commotion, one of the maids ran out and saw the corpses in the courtyard, as well as the bloodied Morty hugging the naked Rebecca on the ground. She was so frightened but she still quickly moved towards them.

"Young Master, Young Master!"

Morty waved his hand tiredly. "Quick, help me into the house. Bring me the medicine box."

"Yes, yes."

The maid didn't dare to be negligent. She quickly called her other companion to bring Morty and Rebecca back to the room and took the medicine box from the room.

"You guys can go out. Don't worry about the pile of corpses in the courtyard." Morty waved his hand. The two maids looked at each other and left quietly with their heads lowered.

After the two of them left, Morty took out bandages and medicine and began to treat the wound on his thigh.

The moment the medicine touched the wound, the piercing pain made him sober up and he sucked in a cold breath.

"Sh*t— Ha–"

After enduring the pain and bandaging the wound, Morty looked at Rebecca on the bed. The latter's face was pale and she was still unconscious.

As he got closer, Morty noticed that Rebecca's body also had scratches of various sizes. They were probably caused by the tree branches while they were escaping the forest. After all, her skin was so delicate.

Without hesitation, he picked up the potion and began to carefully treat Rebecca's wound.

"Okay…"

The moment the potion was applied to the wound, Rebecca frowned slightly as if she felt pain and let out a low groan.

"Rebecca?" Morty was delighted. "Rebecca, wake up! " he whispered.

However, Rebecca showed no signs of waking up.

Looking at her slightly furrowed brows and dry, white lips, Morty could not help but feel a twinge in his chest.

The usually healthy and cute girl had become like this in order to protect him.

If he could be stronger, couldn't he defend himself against the zombies?

Touching her thin shoulders, Morty was a little disappointed.

Indeed, ever since he came to this world and inherited this manor, he had never thought of increasing his strength or anything. Instead, he had always wanted to laze around and wait for a peaceful death.

But now, he had come into contact with two women. One of them was the captain of the Royal Guards with outstanding swordsmanship, and the other was a genius mage with terrifying strength.

However, of these two women who should not have interacted with him, one almost slept with him, and the other was almost dead to save him.

He had to rely on external forces to protect himself.

If this continued, would he be as lucky as he was today when he encountered danger in the future?

Morty sighed and shook his head, dispelling these thoughts from his mind.

Increasing his strength was not something that could be done overnight. What he could do now was to expand the manor and plant more plants at the edge. This way, the safety factor would be much higher.

Thinking of plants, Morty couldn't help but wonder why the plants he planted were so magical.

Could it really be related to the book left behind by the old master?

"Looks like I have to find some time to study it carefully."

Morty muttered to himself, his hands moving non-stop. Rebecca's slim waist, which didn't have a trace of fat, brushed past his fingers gently and finally stopped at her chest.

There were also scratches here.

Feeling the softness on his palm, for the first time, Morty didn't have any lustful thoughts. He applied the medicine to the wound with extra gentle movements.

"Okay…"

Perhaps it was because of her sensitivity, Rebecca let out a soft snort from her nose. Her eyelids trembled slightly, and then she slowly opened her eyes.

"Where is this place?"

The pain in her chest made her unable to help but look down. At a glance, she saw Morty's large hand covering her chest, rubbing it back and forth. Her gaze froze, and then her face turned red.

"Hooligan!"

PA!
