"Souls are like stat sheets before you can enter a high level world you have to have the required soul stats or your soul simply couldn't exist on a higher plane."
"So why even try if once I'm reincarnated I won't remember anything immediately, yea I'll learn faster and remember sooner, but why even try when one of these lives I'll get lucky and I can do everything I need in my sleep?" Lucian asked his teacher who seemed accustomed to the lazy child's antics.
"It's not as simple as that, talent will only take you so far at some point there has to be work behind it or you'll find yourself falling short." The teacher responded in a matter of factly tone.
"But… what if there was a talent so great…" Lucian began his rebuttal before abruptly being cut off.
"If there was a talent so great im sure there should have been witnesses by now! How could one not spread word of a talent that great." The teacher spoke obviously tired of the young Lucian's antics.
"You never really know is all I'm trying to say… How many times did you reincarnate in the mortal worlds?" Lucian calmly replied shrugging off his teachers ranting.
His teacher held a thoughtful expression and then replied with a superior grin on his face, "I actually only reincarnated into the mortal worlds 18 times."
Hearing this Lucian raised an eyebrow it wasn't uncommon of hearing people reincarnate hundreds even sometimes thousands of times before making it to the immortal realm that some mortals refer to as heaven. Little do they know Ascención is only the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
"And yourself young master how many times did you reincarnate in the mortal world, to have reincarnated into the Light family directly after Ascención must mean your souls journey through the mortal realm must have been fruitful!" The teacher asked Lucian curious as generally it was taboo to talk about each others past lives but if someone brought them up most people wouldn't shy away looking for a chance to reminisce.
"I don't think I was too short of a million." Lucian spoke casually as if that wasn't an absurd amount of time to spend in the mortal realm.
The teacher began coughing violently totally taken aback by the appalling amount of lives the child before him lived through.
"G-good god, I've never heard of any soul staying in the mortal realm over a hundred thousand lives… how could you have possibly incarnated into this family?" The teacher asked Lucian with obvious disgust on his face as if he were exposed to a lecher.
"Ahh come on now teach don't go looking at me like that there's nothing wrong with my soul I actually kinda stayed on purpose. I didn't wanna show up here excited only to get my head cut off." Lucian spoke his tone remaining calm as if he had talked sense into people on many occasions.
"Y-you what??" The teacher asked his facial expression going from disgust to disbelief in a matter of seconds.
"Uhhh it's nothing, forget about it, I got lucky I guess are we done for today?" Lucian responded looking at his watch eager to get out of the study building on the Light estate.
"Oh yes yes, we are done for today I hope you go and study and practice your breathing techniques and don't neglect your physical training." The teacher spoke while gathering his books and belongs before rushing out of the study building.
'Finally, I thought I'd reincarnate again before he stopped the questions.' Lucian thought, the oddest part about this was one lifetime as a mortal there was a person that found out he knew about reincarnation and literally asked him different questions all the way up until he died.
'Wow these people really don't even know how reincarnation works. So stupid, I wonder where those things are.' Lucian thought as his mind began to fall in deep trance being washed over by memories.
It was the first time that his soul bore witness to anything, it was the conception of his consciousness. He could hear voices in an unknown language and see them moving arm like extremities creating ghost like creatures in a multitude of shapes, sizes and forms.
"Vélek aktar trafezsopene" one of the figure spoke in a loud tone while pointing and looking in the direction of Lucian's soul.
"How are you awake" Lucian heard in his head somehow able to comprehend the meaning of the beings words.
"I-I don't know, what is this?" Lucian asked his ideas manifesting as sound without him understanding, before suddenly he felt a tug between his eyebrows and his vision blurred before he blacked out.
He woke up in the body of an infant being held by his mother as his first incarnation, he wracked his mind trying to make sense of what he had experienced before appearing in the body of this child but his mind didn't have the necessary communication tools to explain what he had experienced yet.
So he screamed and cried in fear of not knowing what was going on or where he was, but for some reason he always felt comfortable when the woman would hold him in her arms.
Until one day before his 2nd birthday his mother froze to death with him in her arms singinging to the crying freezing child, little Lucian died shortly after as the last bit of warmth left his mothers body and the biting cold began to feast on him.
