The sky was completely red, it was the golden hour. Miriam was staring down at the city from the 56th floor of the twin towers. She had invited Ruth to her home today for an important discussion. Miriam's father was the head of an international conglomerate which produced materials for food packaging. And he wanted Miriam to be the heir of the company, but Miriam was more interested in creativity than any sort of business.
Ruth came to her apartment soon and asked, "what you wanna talk about?"
Miriam held her breath. Ruth knew that Miriam wanted to share a secret with her that's why she called her up to her apartment. It was Ruth's second time coming here in her past 16 years of acquaintance with Miriam.
"I had a strange dream in which I saw Amar."
Ruth almost broke. She knew that Miriam liked Amar, but she didn't expect her to call her here all the way up to the 56th floor for that. It was a pain in the ass for her to ask permission to come here from all the various personnel. Miriam saw the disappointment on Ruth's face and quickly said, "Let me complete!"
"I was seeing it in a third person, but Amar was meeting this person called Avlev in a place called Gourmet's Paradise. And I know this land is real because I talked to Avlev's wife, or love interest at least."
Ruth was confused. "Huh, what the absolute fuck are you talking about?"
Miriam slowly explained. Aurora, one of the nine emerald ranked chefs in the gourmet's paradise had called her out in the real world. She gave her a token to be able dream into the gourmet's paradise. When Miriam asked Aurora, she wouldn't explain. Even with Miriam's capabilities of being a social butterfly, she was unable to get any information except there being a selection. Miriam chose Ruth to confide in as she was her best friend. Aurora also told not to talk to Amar about any of this.
Ruth understood that Miriam was not kidding ad genuinely such fantastical events had happened. Ruth was naturally curious in this "Gourmet's Paradise" and she being the Internet Junkie she is, went back and searched the whole internet for this. All she could find was a company named it and a YouTube channel. There were many things named "Gourmet's Paradise" but couldn't find any clue on this specific other world. She started writing a 4chan post in the paranormal but stopped herself. What if they find themselves in danger?
Amar was still in a daze. He was feeling more and more hungry day by day even though he was eating more than enough and as a result was feeling more tired. He would doze off and find himself in the Gourmet's Paradise from time to time. But what really happened in that place, he still couldn't understand. After walking home he decided to just eat something fast and sleep. Maybe he would be able go into the Gourmet's World again. And so, he did.
Except this time, it was a bit different. When he dozed, he met with Avlev again in the same place.
"Why didn't you add blood?", Avlev asked in domineering tone.
Amar was confused at first but then realised. The 100th recipe! They didn't add blood.
"Well the book didn't specify which type of blood?", Amar answered back.
Avlev sighed. "You are still too naïve. I will give you one last chance. Reproduce the 100th recipe again. I can't help you in that question. You will have to use you intuition."
With that Amar was back in the real world. The sun shone bright outside, and the light rays diffused through the curtain. It was already Sunday noon. Amar checked his phone and was surprised to find so many texts of Gabriel. Apparently, he wanted to come to his house urgently. Amar got ready as soon as possible to go to his house but ran into Ruth on the way out.
