Ruth was surprised to see Amar. She couldn't help but think back to her
conversation with Mariam as she saw him. She was not supposed to tell Amar about Mariam's dream,
and she had to oblige with Mariam's request because of their close friendship. As Amar
got closer, she snapped back to reality.
"Hi Amar, I didn't think I'd see you here. You look like you're in a rush," Ruth said.
Amar, still in a daze, said, "Oh Ruth, yeah, I was heading towards Gabrielle's house. He said he
needed me to come quickly, I don't know why, though. Actually, why don't we go
together and see what's wrong?"
Ruth thought for a bit, then replied, "Hmm, sure. I also want to know what's wrong and maybe
help. Should we text the others?"
"Let's test them on the way. I have a feeling all of us need to be together, and I
also want to tell everyone once we are together," Amar said.
Ruth nodded and started typing to the other two, and together with Amar, they went to
Gabrielle's house. Ruth and Amar arrived at Gabrielle's house, a quaint little place with a
lush green lawn in front. As they rang the doorbell and waited for Gabrielle to open the
door, they noticed Mariam.
Amar told Mariam what he told Ruth, and as he was explaining, Gabrielle finally opened the
door. "So that's why we texted you two co- oh, Gabrielle opened the door. Hey, Gabrielle!
What took you- Hey! What's with your appearance, dude?" Amar said, while Mariam and
Ruth looked concerned.
Gabrielle, looking a bit haggard with dark circles underneath his eyes, said, "Come in. I'll
explain." Amar and the rest nodded and made their way inside. They looked at Gabrielle
with concern as he led them inside. Gabrielle explained how he had been having
nightmares about a terrifying creature that seemed to be getting closer to him every night.
He had also been hearing a voice in his dreams that told him he needed to redo the recipe
again to free himself from this state.
Amar realized that the recipe they had made was responsible for Gabrielle's nightmares. He
remembered what the man said in his dream. He took out the recipe and read it over
carefully. He knew what he had to do.
"We have to redo the recipe," Amar said.
"What? No way," Ruth said, looking at Amar incredulously. "We can't do it again! Look at
Gabrielle. Something happened to him because of the recipe, and we didn't even eat it!"
"But we have to. Gabrielle is suffering because of this. We have to make it right," Amar said
firmly.
Ruth hesitated for a moment, but she remembered her conversations with Mariam and thought,
"If it's the same person, following their advice would be the correct choice. I hope." After
thinking for a moment, she then nodded in agreement. "Okay, fine. But we have to be
careful. We can't mess this up. If I remember correctly, we skipped the blood part. We
have to add blood, right? But whose blood?"
Amar nodded and said, "I think any blood would work alright, and for that, my blood is enough."
And looking around the room, he could see the three of them hesitated. He needed blood
to complete the recipe. Any blood would do, and using some of his blood is fine if he
could help Gabrielle
He talked to them and finally, after a few minutes he convinced them and they went to their club
as it had the ingredients and cooking tools needed to complete the recipe. On the way,
Mariam texted Elijah to the new location they were gathering and told him to quickly buy
the ingredients they were lacking. While Amar, ruth, and Gabrielle were talking about the
recipe, she was thinking about the dream.
as she looked at Gabrielle, she thought" is the voice the same person I met in my dreams? If
not how could it be aware of the recipe and how we have to redo the recipe, how is it
that they were aware that we skipped the blood part? are they some sort of higher-"
mariam's thoughts were cut short as her phone beeped, Elijah, said he got the
ingredients and was heading to the club, after reading the text. mariam had a headache
thinking of how to explain the situation to him, after all, he had a fiery temper and it
would be a pain in the ass to talk to him. as she kept thinking stuff, the group reached the
club and started to prepare stuff for the recipe while they waited for Elijah.
After a dozen minutes, Elijah arrived looking confused as to why they were there and was about
to ask but stopped after looking at Gabrielle and immediately got concerned and started a
bombardment of questions at the group, and queue the group explaining to him the
situation. After calming down, they started the recipe.
As he followed the instructions, he could feel the room growing colder. as he felt the air getting
colder, he also felt fear. he wasn't the only one who felt fear, everyone one of them was
feeling fear, fear of the unknown. even the one with the fieriest personality was Quiet and
silently working, Amar turned his attention to the other 3 and saw Gabrielle shaking the little
bit while the 2 girls were also had fear evident in their face. as they quietly worked. The
air was thick with tension as they all worked together to prepare the recipe. as they
correctly followed the recipe, they started to see things in the corner of their vision,
strangely no one said any word and just started working faster. As they started to add
blood, Amar almost fainted and for a brief moment, he felt that an extremely terrifying
beast was staring at him from behind, he couldn't move nor say anything. After a second,
everything was back to normal. As he looked around, he saw the group looking at him
silently confused as to why he suddenly stopped. not knowing how to explain, he just
went back to work despite the group's confusion, yet none of them dared to ask what
happened. As they worked together, Gabrielle started to get more and more tired, as he
looked around he noticed everyone was also getting tired for unknown reasons. Now the
group's fear was getting higher and higher the more they completed the recipe. At one
point, they noticed shadows flitting in and out of existence. The temperature in the room
continued to drop and they could see their breaths misting in the air.
The lighters were getting dimmer, the shadows getting larger and the movement at the corner of
their eyes was getting worse. nonetheless, none dared to speak even less make
a sound, so they kept working on the recipe, while Mariam started to almost tear up
because her strong imagination was working against her, and the least affected was
Elijah, his thoughts were simple as he only thought of finishing this so he can help
Gabrielle. As they kept nearing the end, Gabrielle momentarily paused as he
saw...something…moving near him at the corner of his eyes, like a beast that is
stalking his prey. frozen in fear, he couldn't do anything but try to stare from the corner of
his eye, even though his eye started to strain and hurt so he closed his eyes as he felt the
beast…no monsters breathing near him. as he waited in fear of the unknown monster and
kept having horrific thoughts, making his fear shoot through the roof. but….nothing
happened? no…something was touching his shoulder and shaking him, he kept hearing
very faint noises….like someone calling his name…wait someone calling his name? As
he slowly but surely opened his eyes he noticed Elijah shaking his shoulders while saying
his name with concern" hey Gabrielle, Gabrielle! Are you ok? you were just frozen in this spot
and-" Mariam interrupted" Elijah he's fine now, you can stop shaking him." said with a
tired voice. Ruth and Amar nodded, while the group was looking at him with concern with
a tint of relief and tiredness. He realized they already finished the recipe and he was just
frozen in his spot. so he awkwardly nodded and the group added one last ingredient.
Finally, they finished the recipe and Amar poured his blood into the mixture. The room
was silent as they all watched the blood merge with the other ingredients, the mixture
turning a dark shade of red.
As soon as the blood was added, they felt a sudden rush of wind as if a huge gust had blown
through the room. The wind knocked over some of the ingredients and extinguished some
of the candles, plunging the room into darkness. For a moment, they were all disoriented
and confused, trying to regain their bearings.
Then they heard a low growling sound coming from the darkness, followed by a roar. The
roar was so loud that it felt like the walls were shaking, and they could feel the ground
beneath their feet trembling. and ...…nothing happened, there was nothing there
except the patty…..like everything they felt was an illusion, their imagination. the candles
weren't fallen and everything was in order as if nothing truly happened.
"What now?" Gabriel asked, breaking the silence.
"We wait," Amar said. "We wait for a week, just like the recipe says. And then we eat."
The group was silent for a moment. Elijah with his fiery personality asked first. "I wasn't the
only one seeing things right? please tell me I wasn't the only one"
"no you weren't the only one, we all felt and saw it," said Ruth, with fear in her eyes.
"what the hell is this recipe ?" asked Ruth, in a slightly shaky and raised voice. mariam put a hand
on her shoulder as comfort while thinking about the whole thing.
"clearly….something we shouldn't have messed with," said Amar, and seeing the group nod.
"I….il go home and rest, what about you guys?" said Gabrielle with a shaky voice, the one most
affected in the whole ordeal.. " are you fine? do you need my help?" said Elijah,
completely ignoring his question in favor of finding out if his friend is fine or not. "same,
I will go home and take a sleep and ….properly think about what happened" replied
Amar, thinks he has to go to sleep and asks the man what the hell happened.
"I'm fine Elijah, and what about you 3?" said, Gabrielle.
Mariam replied" il go with ruth, and then go back home. I don't think I can sleep after what
happened" with a tired sigh, ruth nodded.
"I will go home too, I think I had enough for today" after cleaning up, they one by one left after
they said their goodbyes and left the club. As Amar walked home, Amar couldn't help but
think about what happened, the recipe, and the man in his dreams, for it, was truly a
terrifying experience. He wondered if he should fully explain his dreams to the group or
not.
He knew that the next week would be a long one, and he was right. It was a long one
