Back inside the party, Amya tried to enjoy
herself with everyone else but still deep down, her mind was still wandering back to the conversation she had with Timothy. Her mind was continuously ringing with the thoughts, 'What if? What if she just told him the truth that she did not also move on away from him that easy. Yes of course she met David and also fell in love him but Timothy was like a permanent tattoo that got imprinted on her heart and can never be removed. After Timothy confessed to her that he still loves her despite what took place between them in the past. Amya felt strong inexplicable feelings, something that even David never evoked before. A strong pull of wanting to give your all to someone without thinking of the consequences that could surface because of the decision. She thought she felt that way for David but now looking at the situation, it is no longer the same. And things have even turned for the worst and she did know how she was going to escape the upcoming storm. But one thing was for certain, she should not put Timothy's life at risk but should only hope that he finds someone who will love him and give him their all. Although it hurts but its the only wish she has for him right now.
Amya was thinking this whilst sitting at a table and looking at the people enjoying the festivities at the Christmas jubilee Auction and Charity Ball whilst drinking some wine. This was the first time that Amya drank a lot at an event. She was not much into alcohol but today with the stressful events that took place she felt like she really needed it. Her aunt Grace already left the party to go back home. She said she wanted to spent the rest of the evening with her family. Amya could have also left with her but since David was still being a socialite, she knew she couldn't leave just yet but she was going to wait.
"Are you ready to go?". Amya got startled by the voice that said those words behind her. And she turned around and saw that it was her boyfriend David, who said those words whilst approaching her table from behind. " Yes of course. But are you done speaking with your friends?" Replied Amya. "Well....yes...more or less. But right now I just want to spent the rest of this wonderful evening with my beautiful...hot...sexy...gorgeous girlfriend." Said David whilst wrapping his arms around Amya and giving her a quick passionate kiss. "So now come on. There is a place that I want to show you", said David and he took hold of Amya's hand and helped her get on her feet. "A place you want to show me....? Where?" Asked Amya whilst looking at David. "Well...its a surprise. And I am pretty sure that you are going to love it." Replied David and he started walking out with Amya following closely behind.
Just as she was exiting from the building with David, she caught sight of someone heading to the other side of the parking lot, entering a car and driving away. At first, Amya thought she was seeing things and it could not be. But she still held onto a benefit of a doubt because of what she heard about that person and she did not want to dispel the possibility just yet. "Amya....Amya!!" Called David, after realizing that Amya was not following him anymore but she was standing looking dazed at the other side of the parking lot. "Huh!! Oh sorry my love. I thought I saw someone I knew at the other side of the parking lot but I guess it was just a mistake." Replied Amya. "O....kay...well let's go now before it gets late." Said David and started walking towards their car. Amya looked one last time at the area where she saw the person that just drove off and then she followed David to the car and they drove off.
"Just keep your eyes closed...and no peeking", said David whilst covering Amya's eyes with his hands after they arrived at their destination. After walking around for a while, David finally removed his hands from Amya's eyes. After being allowed to see, Amya's eyes started taking in the surroundings, they were outside in a spacious garden, decorated with Christmas lights and different assorted flowers. The pathway that they were walking on was spread with red, white and pink roses' petals and beautiful white glowing lanterns were strewn along the side of the path. Amya could not hide the awe on her face after seeing this beautiful scene.
Just as she was admiring the decorations and walking a bit further away along the path, all of a sudden the lights went out. And she turned around to ask David what happened but he was not there. She started calling his name but there was no answer and she began to panic. But just as she was about to go and look for him, loud buzzing sounds were heard in the sky. And she turned around and looked up, and saw some lights dancing around in the sky. The next moment they started forming words, 'To the love of my life. The woman that came into my life like a sweet breeze after a wrecking storm. She molded my heart anew and created a safe haven for me to stay in. She is really loving, generous, kind, bold, brave, strong and the most special person in my life. I love her with all my heart and being and I can't wait to create a home with her, have a family and grow old with her. Because the ties that bind us are special and I believe they were heavenly made. She and I were meant to be together. So I ask her now after much expectation and anticipation...'. "Amya will you marry me!"
Amya slowly turned around and saw David kneeling down on one knee and holding a out a big diamond ring with a bright dashing smile on his face and then all the lights came back on. Amya felt tears streaming down her face. 'This was more than what she had dreamed of. She never expected that David would propose to her in such an amazing, sweet and romantic way. If it were back then, before the truth came like a hurricane and hit her with reality, she would have felt enlightened and her heart would have flown to cloud nine filled with happiness. She would have jumped joyfully into David's arms whilst screaming Yes! Yes! Yes! But she knew that it cannot be and the answer she was about to give was going to complicate things'. So the tears that were flowing down her cheeks were not of happiness but pain, pain about what she was about to do, to this sweet man but she had no choice but to do it because it was for the best... for both of them.
After gathering up her courage, she finally opened her mouth and said slowly, "David I....I..." But the words started to fail her and before she said anything more, her cellphone vibrated with notifications of two messages. "Umm sorry..." She uttered and looked at her phone. She saw two message notifications from two different numbers. She opened the first one and it read, 'IF YOU DARE SAY YES TO DAVID'S PROPOSAL THEN YOU ARE GOING TO REGRET IT VERY DEARLY!!!" after then she scrolled down and saw a picture with Timothy tied to a chair whilst unconscious and an unknown figure holding a gun at his head. Amya's hand started to shake terribly. After that she then opened the other message saying, 'IF YOU REFUSE TO ACCEPT DAVID'S PROPOSAL AND MARRY HIM. I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT IS A VERY UNWISE DECISION.' Then she scrolled down and saw a picture of some gunmen preparing to enter a house, HER HOUSE!! HER GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE!!! The message then went on to say, "BETTER MAKE A WISE DECISION HONEY OR ELSE..." Amya stood frozen at her spot and started to breathe heavily and shake terribly and David noticed this and stood up to see what was wrong. But before he could reach her, Amya dropped her phone and stepped on it with her shoe and David could only watch in awe wondering what has gotten into his girlfriend. And then unexpectedly, Amya turned to face him with a wide smile and said, "Oops." And David could not help but make his mouth agape whilst his thoughts were saying, 'What the hell!".
