Thinking of this small conversation gave her a small headache.
At the time, Hayley didn't give those words any thought as she had to take care of the unconscious Max and take him to one of the rooms to rest.
And she was mentally exhausted after watching Max fight for the past 30 minutes as it wasn't easy for her to see such a bloody site.
So now that her mind is a little clear after sleeping for a while, she started to give it some thought, after all a super expert like this person won't say empty words.
These words would of course hold some merit.
When she remembered her original Mission in coming to Earth, she began to think again.
She didn't expect that her luck is this amazing to be able to meet the person that is from the prophecy said by the old men in her family.
So, if her thoughts are correct, then Max is the one she is searching for. As for what to do after finding him, those old men didn't tell them.
Hayley is now conflicted if she should follow that figure's words or not.
While she was lost in thought, she got interrupted as she heard Max's voice from afar.
"Hey, are you coming or not?" Max asked with a raised eyebrow seeing Hayley standing there while having a blank expression.
"Yes, I am coming wait for me," hearing this, Hayley answered quickly and followed him into the tower.
As for her thoughts about the words from the figure?
She threw them into the back of her mind. She is curious by nature. So, she is curious about everything related to Max and wanted to follow him to see where this journey would take her.
As for the threat to her life that the figure talked about?
She just ignored this warning.
The reason?
Simple.
You could die at anytime, anywhere without even knowing how or why.
So, what is the problem with doing what she wants to do? If she died because she can't handle the repercussion of fate? Then that's her luck.
Although she is young, she is not ignorant about the working of fate. After all, they have a complete branch that is full of fate dragons.
They usually take about fate all this time and its importance, so she understands the dangers very much.
But how can a dragon be afraid of such a thing? Not to say, A Royal Golden Dragon.
So, she is confident in her fate and luck. She will just have to work hard to become stronger because she has a faint feeling that Max would catch up with her very quickly.
Hayley thought about all of this while she was following Max up the stairs.
Max turned his head to her and asked in a puzzled tone.
"Why were you dazed? Did something happen?"
"No, nothing. I was just lost in thought," replied Hayley with her usual bright smile.
"Are you sure?" Max asked suspiciously.
"Yeah, don't worry," said Hayley with a nod.
"Sure, then let's hurry because I am getting excited to see what is inside the tower," Max said in an excited tone.
Although Max has seen Hayley changing her expression a lot while standing in front of the doors of the tower. He didn't press her to answer him since she didn't want to say.
Getting those thoughts to the back of his mind. Max focuses on what he might find here.
Money? Of course not, who would use money in Hell?
Max shook his head at this stupid idea.
Magic Books?
Max shook his head again. After all, if the inheritance really belongs to a demon, then he won't find magic books that depend on Mana. Demons use demonic energy. They have the same ranking system as the other races but use demonic energy instead of Mana.
As for the higher-ranking system, he doesn't know about them for now, but he should be able to get this information from the Tome of Knowledge.
And even if he found any magic books, they won't be any important to him. As he is dubious if they are going to be good enough like the Tome of Knowledge, but he still kept his hopes high, as he just passed a deadly trial.
Maybe he can find Mana crystals, but they are pretty much useless to him.
Mana crystals would usually help in increasing the absorption rate of Mana into the body, but since he has the system. He has no intention to sit cross-legged like some old men from the stories to keep absorbing Mana from the atmosphere and refine it slowly.
Even now, he has no idea how did Hayley reach such a high level despite being young.
Hayley should be peak-rank Magus. She will have to make a connection with the Astral Plane and form the fifth star in her body to be able to break through to the next rank.
While waking in the tower, they arrived quickly on the first floor.
The tower consists of three floors only. Now he is standing in front of the only door on the first floor.
"Should we be cautious? Or should we just push open and enter?" Hayley asked curiously.
"Better be cautious, who knows what might pop from inside," said Max without thinking much.
Hearing this, Hayley just nodded her head in agreement.
Max held the handle of the door and then opened it slowly. After confirming that nothing is wrong, he pushed the door open and took a look inside. While Hayley was standing behind him while tiptoeing as Max is covering the view.
What they saw inside stunned them. Max found his earlier words a little bit correct. Inside the room are a lot of money but not normal money. What is inside the room is a lot of gold. The room is filled with gold bars. They were just thrown around the room like trash.
Beside them were some shiny ores that have strange colors and strange shapes. He even got attracted by an ore that looked similar in color to his spear, when he held it in his hands which made the system prompt appear.
[Soulforge Ore]
Seeing this, I was a little puzzled. Didn't Lena say that the Soulforge ore disappeared from the Universe?
Since I was puzzled, I decided to ask Lena.
[Maybe because the owner of the inheritance has been living for a long time so he has some of this ore here in the room] replied Lena in an uncertain tone.
Hearing this, Max just took a look around the large room and noticed that she is right, he don't see many Soulforge ores around the room. He noticed a few pieces only.
He just shrugged his shoulder and turned his attention to Hayley who is still standing at the door looking at what he is going to do with all of these things.
"What?" asked Hayley after seeing Max turn his eyes in her direction.
"Don't you want any of this?" Max asked curiously.
"No, I have no need of gold, but maybe some of the strange ores here, as I like to study new things," said Hayley after taking a look around the room. Since Max asked her opinion, then there is no reason to be shy.
"Sure, do you have something to collect them in?"
"No," Hayley said while looking in the other direction.
Max could take them all in his system's inventory, but he decided against it. Since this is an inheritance, the master of this inheritance should have made preparation for such a thing.
After all, if you can't take the things he left here, then the inheritance will only be useless.
"Then, let's hope the master of this place left something useful to take all the things here."
Saying this, Max turned and left the room with Hayley to continue going upstairs.
