Again, he lifted off his feet with the assistance of his flight and he tried to use the same attack again, except with a hook instead of a straight. Elias read his opponent like a book and knew that he was using his right fist before he even cocked it back or made a fist with that hand.
So, as a counter, Elias dipped right under the incoming attack and threw out his right fist for an overextended right punch. His flames engulfed his hand and made his punch just that much more painful.
Once it landed, Clark looked slightly stunned from the attack. His arms reflexively lifted and Elias was perceptive, therefore capitalising on the situation at hand. His blazing orange eyes discovered this information and it led him to grab him by his black shirt and lift him. Clark tried to fly to be removed from his grasp but this option didn't seem to be possible as he was locked in place and unable to move.
*SLAM*
Clarks's facial expression showed that of shock and before he could be attacked again, he soared into the air and secured significant distance between him and Elias. The two fighters continued to lock each other down with their vision.
"Come on, Elias!"
"You can do it, Clark! Use your lasers!"
Several encouraging students stood in the arena stands, while leaning forward on the sweaty bleachers. Many of the students supported who they believed was the strongest fighter and everyone made sure to showcase how much they loved them to the rest of the students.
Even the teachers were watching the fight intently and the medical team were on high alert, in case of one of them receiving grave injuries. The only person who wasn't getting down on their hands and knees for them was Brandyn. He decided to try and analyse the fight to try and gain something from the bout.
He knew these fighters did not only possess exceptional fighting power but also incredible levels of technique. Dynasties, upon hearing of prodigies of their families, would spend a lot more time trying to develop the skills of this prodigy to make them as profitable as possible.
"Stop camping up there, you coward!" Elias shouted, quickly lifting his arm to block a short laser that were shot down from Clark's eyes.
"Fine!" Clark said with a scoff, diving down with both of his arms aimed right ahead.
The two warriors collided and due to Clark's incredibly high momentum, he was lifted right off his feet and launched in the opposite direction. The attack felt like a car crashing into his body and many of his scales cracked upon the impact. Slowly raising upwards, Clark threw out a quick and snappy kick to the jaw, knocking Elias away a significant amount.
Elias, upon getting hit with these attacks, saw the crowd and looked ahead to the possible ridicule he'd feel after losing. He couldn't let himself lose to him. He couldn't accept a second place.
Victory was the only choice.
"GRAAH!!" Elias screamed out, growing even more scales across his arms.
His cracked scales healed and became even more fortified than before. Also, his arms seemed to get quite a bit larger as his rage slowly builded up.
"I guess Elias is getting serious now. I'm gonna have to use everything I have then."
Clark lifted off his feet with clenched fists and the air swiftly tensed up. Abruptly, the two fighters made their charge ahead and before Elias could land an attack, Clark soared into the air with amazing speed.
"Wow! Clark seems to have ascended past 50 miles per hour with his flight, which is a speed unseen from him!"
As the distance widened, he beamed his lasers downwards and began tracking Elias with his sight.
*CRACK*
*VUMM*
The scales that laid across Elias' skin continued to crack and break apart under the high heat and intensity of the beams.
*WOOSH*
Clark then came diving down and pulled his leg forwards for a front kick.
*BAM*
Elias was able to evade just in time and his leg crashed into the tough, coarse sandstone below. However, the target was still in range so he swerved his body around his planted foot and went in for a left hook. The punch was fast and powerful but Elias was just that much faster to perceive the attack coming and to dodge it with relative ease.
As his arm started to retract, Elias began extending his arm for a punch of his own. His punch was significantly faster and it connected cleanly with Clark's chin. This force transferred throughout his neck and head, making him feel drowsy and weak. Again, Elias swung twice for the head, landing both attacks that knocked Clark back to a knee.
The dragon fighter jumped ahead with another strike to seal the combo, a spinning kick to the neck. However, just before it could land, Clark slid backwards in an impossible manner, eventually lifting into an airborne position.
Just before he could rejuvenate and rethink his strategy, though, Elias continued on with his assault. He didn't simply want Clark to make it out of this situation that he was in and he knew he was in a tough situation after the attacks he landed on his head.
Rather ambitiously, Elias just jumped up as forcefully as he could and literally came up to the same level as Clark with this jump alone.
"You can't escape me!"
*WHACK*
Elias swivelled around while in mid-air and as he began to descend, he swung his foot forwards for a kick to the collarbone, cracking it.
"Damn!" Clark screamed out in his mind, which was clouded with the excruciating pain of this attack.
"I think this might be it! It seems that Elias has directly countered and significantly diminished the advantage that Clark previously had against him due to his flight!"
