His muscles enlarged and his chest had a considerable increase in size. His canines slowly grew into more sharp, deadly fangs.
*ZOOM*
Gerben charged at this teacher and his speed had increased quite a significant amount. The teacher made a smirk as he saw how much faster he became and even lifted one of his hands off the staff to wield it with a single arm.
Gerben cocked back his fist as he approached Leopold, in a very predictable manner.
"There's no way that attack will land. He'll have to feint if he wants to land anything." Brandyn thought as he watched the intriguing fight.
Just before the attack was thrown, he dipped to the side and the staff came flying right over his head. As Leopold threw his staff forward, he smiled once he saw the technique that the attacker managed to use. While he was dipped down, he bounced up and swerved his body around for a left hook.
As he swung his gauntlet ahead, Leopold swung out his staff and tapped it down with a simple touch of his gauntlet. This force was so easily applied by Mr Maximilian but it moved Gerben's entire body down. As he descended, he lifted his upper body and head up to try and handle the next attack that was to come to him. Even with his more aware stance, there was still nothing he could do and the staff's end was slammed into his sternum.
*tap*
*thud*
This slam launched Gerben back, and it also left a minor fracture in his sternum and made him roll across the ground. With his supernatural strength, he was able to lift his body up with ease but as he lifted up, Leopold began his next assault.
With merely 2 strides, he crossed more than 60% of the distance of the platform, ascending speeds of 60 miles per hour. As he approached and charged past Gerben, he drove his staff into Gerben's stomach, making him feel quite nauseous and unsettled.
He slid right across the battlefield, holding his stomach in pain. He visibly looked far more angry about this combination of attacks.
"You can't just use that weapon! You have too much experience with it!" Gerben exclaimed, clearly annoyed as he even had a bulging vein across his forehead.
"How much experience have you had with your gauntlets?" Leopold replied, swivelling his staff so it ran down his back.
"6-8 months or so."
"Ah, I have 34 years of experience with my weapon. If you want me to fight weapon-less, I shall do so." Mr Maximilian announced, chucking his staff off the platform.
"Now I can actually fight and get into range! Time for domination!" Gerben claimed in his mind, running ahead with ferocity.
Each stride was energetic and each contact with the floor felt like a stomp on the white canvas. It didn't take long for Gerben to get into range but as he did, Leopold lifted his arms into a stance. He had his lead hand, his left hand, slightly outward and his right fist was tucked snuggly under his chin.
Gerben aimed high and threw two ambitious punches to the head. Each strike was powerful and he seemed to neglect the majority of his form to just try and land each attack. However, as the two attacks approached Leopold, he was easily able to bop his head out of the way of each punch.
It almost seemed like he was able to completely predict each attack and even how it would be thrown. As the second attack missed his head, he made a swift slip under this extended arm to make a few sidesteps off the edge of the ring.
"You're going no where!" Gerben declared, charging ahead at full speed to chuck out his right gauntlet with a right straight.
Even with all of the added momentum from his run, the punch was no where near fast enough to connect with the veteran. Leopold didn't even seem to be at all bothered by his constant assault and he parried this power punch with ease. All it took was a slight readjustment to the position of his lead hand, leaving Gerben's entire body open for attack.
*BAM*
Mr Maximilian landed a picture perfect right punch and this single hit was all that was required to launch Gerben onto the canvas.
"Oh!
"He's so strong!"
Many comments of excitement and shock like this were heard from the crowd and Gerben was forced to revert to his ordinary state after getting rocked that badly. A bruise under his right eye already started to develop and the pain was quite significant.
"Alright. I think we spent a bit too much time in that fight there. Don't worry Gerben, I didn't hit you with my full power. If I did, you wouldn't be alive." Leopold said coldly, walking back to the centre of the platform as Gerben stumbled off it.
"I believe it is time to begin with your weapons training. I will explain the routine I would like you all to follow for the type of weapon that you possess but, of course, you should adjust your training accordingly once you are able to implement the use of your ability with your weapon."
