Chapter 41 - Luuk Bruin

"Each one of you now have a marker. Someone.. else.. get up so I can show the class what I would like them to do." Gudbrand said, pointing the pen to the crowd.

Only the strongest students were even contemplating this offer after they saw what happened to Brandyn. He had gotten a little stronger than before and he was still put down by him with absolute ease.

"I'll go up." A student said, with medium length green hair.

His eyes were the same colour as his hair and he stood at around 6'1, making him one of the tallest students in the crowd. His muscles were a little defined but his body fat percentage was quite low. He weighed at 79kg.

"Ah! Luuk of the Bruin Dynasty! Let me see if you can make use of the Lime Thunder's talents." Mr Gudbrand said, swivelling his pen.

"Now, you have to take off the tip of your marker and try to land as many markings on me as possible. In the room beside me, we have access to body vests to stop you all getting your clothes marked up. Luuk, you understand what to do right?" Mr Gudbrand, said turning back to Luuk.

Luuk, after seeing the teacher completely humiliate Brandyn, was a little shaky about the fight but he didn't want to look like a weakling to his new teacher and the students beside him.

*CRACKLE*

*RUMBLE*

Luuk's arm engulfed in a collection of green electricity that also ran across the rest of his body. Once this lightning covered approximately all of his body, his eyes glowed the same colour as the lightning that had coated him.

*ZOOM*

Luuk, even with his large size, ran forwards as if he was 20lbs lighter. His feet were explosive but swift, strong but elegant. To begin with the conflict, he dipped down as he ran forwards and stabbed forward his pen to try and get a quick marking on his teacher. However, he swerved right out of the way of the stab. As he stepped past the pen, he also used his pen to tap his own pen slightly, giving him just that small amount of time to back away and rejuvenate.

The lightning user, desperate to just land a single marking, started swinging his pen wildly. With each swing, he made a vehement grunt and a thunderous accumulation of electricity generated with each of these swings. Luuk was quite aware of his failures to succeed in hitting his teacher so he decided to up the stakes.

The electricity, which was previously crackling in quite a random manner, started to concentrate into his fist and the marker.

*VZZZ*

*CRACKLE*

Once Mr Gudbrand saw this, he made a smile of impression as the marker cloaked in this cyan tinted energy.

In one swing, the marker was already close to the teacher and it seemed that blinking at this point could cause you to miss the entire movement.

*VOOM*

Luuk thought that he had got him. His speed had amplified by quite a significant amount and his teacher barely moved in the time it took him to get the marker beside his cheek. However, out of nowhere, the teacher had already covered a metre before the marker made contact.

"What?! How is he so fast, I didn't even see him step back!" Luuk thought, retracting the pen in surprise.

*WHOOSH*

As Luuk blinked, his teacher was nowhere to be seen. All he saw was the wooden edge to the ring and the seats that were situated above. In a desperate attempt to not get hit with any sort of marking, Luuk amplified the use of his ability to near his absolute maximum.

His muscles were now far more prominent than before and his hair started to flow under the flowing power of his ability.

"Luuk, your power is commendable. However, brute force will not always get you what you desire." Mr Gudbrand explained, with his marker aimed forward with the cap off.

"How did he mark him?!"

"Woah!"

Luuk, hearing these comments from the crowd, was bewildered. Not only did he not see this supposed marking but he didn't feel it? How didn't he feel something that would've literally touched his body. As he looked down and saw no markings, it initially confused him.

"I haven't been marked! I swear I haven't, I didn't even feel anything on my back! H-how?!" Luuk shouted in his head as he saw his teacher rid himself of his violet aura.

"As you can see, you are far behind what I expect of you. For a student as swift and skilled as you are, you are still far behind where I need you to be. As a soldier, I could've killed you without a second thought. A criminal could spin your head off with awareness like that. Nonetheless, that is why we are here."
