"Oh my. We're soaked" she frowned
"Wow even God's depressed at your birthday schedule" I cracked a joke to lighten the mood
"Is my birthday plans really that bad?"
"Yes your plans involve cleaning. They invoke a feeling of boredom I can't even begin to fathom" he said
"I'm sorry I've never had the best luck with social places"
"When was the last time you went to a bar or club?"
"Um I went when I was in college"
"And?"
"I haven't since"
"What about a trip out of town?"
"Well my family and I-"
"Without your family" I groaned
"When was the last time you went on a trip or did something fun just for yourself"
"Um...I..." She stuttered as she searched her mind
"We should have brought an umbrella. It doesn't look like the rain is stopping anytime soon" she changed the topic
"There might some at the gift shop" I said
"And how are you going to get there?"
"I'll see if I run there"
"No way it's pouring out there" she said
