Chapter 4 - We don't have anything in common

'Did they just put that note now?'

Nora did not know what to say to defend herself again so she kept quiet.

"Who sent you?"   Ivy asked the quiet Nora.

"I have deleted your videos." Nora replied instead.

"I know and did not ask about that." Ivy said.

"I don't think that I am qualified to teach your children, so I will just leave." Nora said and turned to leave but was pulled back by Ivy.

"Where do you think you are going? Do you or whoever sent you think that I can not get you locked up here now that you are in my territory?"

"There is no need to tell you anything because you would assume that I am lieing." Nora said calmly.

"I guess you need me to force it out from your mouth." Ivy said and pressed a button on the wall.

Almost immediately, a fierce cold man came in from nowhere and looked around.

The aura he carried around him was not one to be overlooked. Nora was scared but still tried to look outwardly unmoved. Ivy looked at the man and asked him to leave. It seems her purpose of calling him out here was just to scare her. She looked at Nora and found out that there were no trace of fear in her eyes so she added.

"He is the least bodyguard around here." Nora was even more scared, she did not see any security around and this one seem to have appeared from nowhere which meant that a lot more of his kind are around.

She could be crushed to powder here and no one would be able to find her.

Thinking about it alone made cold shivers run down her spine but she still kept a straight face. She had to be both careful with her words and actions if she had to leave here alive.

"If you insist on me saying something then I will ll only tell you what you don't want to hear..." Nora was about to continue before Ivy cut in.

"Don't tell me this is a coincidence because I know that it is not "

"In that case I think I have nothing to tell you"

Nora said appearing even more calm than before.

The phone inside her pocket kept vibrating and she knew it was Rose but she could not do anything about it so she just ignored it.

"You are still playing hard and I guess that's because I'm being too soft. Just know that I have met a lot of your kind and I know how to handle them.

She said and reached out to another button making her movements obvious.

Nora seeing her movements, impulsively held her hands and pushed her to the bed.

"Can you ever listen? at least for once?" Nora yelled at her. Ivy flinched as she was not expecting the frail girl in front of her to suddenly push her. qqThis girl didn't seem as simple as she thought.

Nora, who was acting on impulse and didn't care about anything else except to explain herself and get out of here kept holding her down with all her might until a hand pulled her out and threw her somewhere around.

"I did not ask for your service."

Ivy said to the lady who was just pulled Nora out.

The lady looked at Nora on the ground turned to Ivy.

"Her phone keeps vibrating" she said, bowed and left.

Nora who was pushed to the ground remained there. She had landed on her waist and so felt pains around her abdominal region and couldn't stand up with ease.

'This is how I ended up in the lion's den' she thought to herself.

"The phone" Ivy said requesting for Nora's phone.

Nora helplessly brought out the phone and handed it to her not failing to open it. Even if she could not explain herself, her phone would go a long way in doing the explanation.

She just laid there watching.

Ivy looked at the phone vibrating in her hands as more messages were coming in.

The phone finally quieted down. Ivy opened the first, second, third message and seeing there was nothing suspicious about the messages, she unsatisfied went to her gallery and did not find any suspicious pictures.

When she was about to return the phone, her eyes caught a picture, it was more like a card

What's your relationship with Steve? she suddenly asked.

"Would you be able to listen to me explain?"

Ivy kept quiet.

Seeing her quiet for the first time, Nora knew she was now ready to listen.

"I was going to be forced to marry him." Nora said. Ivy was still silent. Nora continued "So I needed those pictures to prove to my dad that he was married but I didn't expect another scene to take place so when another scene took place, I also took videos that would help persuade my dad.

I thought we could become friends seeing that we had something in common..."

"We don't have anything in common." Ivy retorted almost immediately.

Nora ignored her comment and continued to explain.

"And I was on my way back to my friend's mother's birthday party when I saw the notice and decided to try my luck not knowing it was put up there right now."

Ivy kept quiet and pondered about it for a while.

"So you took my money for nothing"

Ivy suddenly said.

"Let's say I took it in advance for the beating I received today" Nora said carelessly not expecting it to work.

"We are even then."

Ivy said and became silent, probably thinking about what she just said.

Nora seeing this stood to leave.

"Thanks for listening to me. My mind would at least be at ease when I know that someone is not misunderstanding me." Nora said and stood to leave.

"Wait" Ivy suddenly called

"I don't think I have your number"

"That's not necessary." Nora said.

"Okay you already gave it to.."

"No I didn't"

Nora knowing the question she was about asking answered frankly.

"Why then isn't it necessary, are you not supposed to be resuming the duties of my children's home teacher very soon" Ivy reasoned.

"I am sorry for tendering in my application, I don't think I'm qualified to teach your children."

"I did not mean that when I said it, I'm sorry for saying that, didn't you always wanted us to be friends, don't you think we are supposed to have each other's contacts as friends" Ivy felt guilty and wanted to ask for her number at the very least.

"I am just a poor girl that does not have a nice background but you are an influential person. I don't think there is anything common between us. We are worlds apart and so can't be friends. By the way, you don't have to feel guilty, just like I said, you already paid in advance for whatever you did, your money was very useful to me."

Ivy found out that she couldn't persuade Nora so she finally gave in.

"I'll have my driver send you back. "

Seeing that she wanted to object, she immediately added.

"Take it as a compensation for the beating you received just now."

Nora still wanted to object.

"I won't give your phone back to you if you refuse."

Having no other choice, she finally agreed.
