Eden left a while ago, leaving Nora very bored and waiting for Akatone to arrive so she has someone to bother.
Though she was bored Nora was thinking of the offer she was given two days prior to her current boredom, today was the third day and Urana was expecting an answer soon. Nora had and still has a strong dislike for the gods as none of them ever came to save her in her time of need, but who was she to turn down the embodiment of the cosmos itself, but a thought came to mind the hero Seth.
The Envious Hero of the Stars.
In the tale Seth was a prisoner of the Roman Empire and was one of the many sent to die by the gladiators of the Colosseum. But the Fates showed him mercy because he lived, he won the battle and continued to kill one gladiator after another but when Urana or Chaos saw his strong spirit she wanted him to be her champion, but as time went on he shamed the name of the Mother of Stars because he was envious of the freedom of the others. To some people he was a hero, to some he was an evil human being.
But the story always ended the same no matter the depiction. Seth killed himself to make his immortal body, cheating his way to immortality, and did so successfully. But Seth denied the gift Nemuri gave him, when he became immortal he was not truly alive, and when was alive he killed himself denying the gift of Nemuri the Goddess of Life, and because of this blasphemy Nemuri took Seth apart and put his limbs to different plains of Earth to make sure Seth would never be one being again.
Nora didn't want to meet the same end as Seth. She wasn't envious, no, but she was vengeful, very vengeful.
A weird scratch was heard from the front door along with the sound of a cawing bird, Nora got up from the carpet she laid starfish on and walked towards the front door. Nora stood confused for a second as she looked at the flying crow in her face as it cawed at her and held a letter in its talons.
"Um?" Nora slightly lifted her hand to say hi only for the crow to roughly shove the letter in the female's hands and fly off. Nora looked down at the slightly creased letter and read for who it was for.
'For: the Prince of Shadows, Akatone Vesperi'
'From: Eirene Dissiri, The Highest Ranking Marque of The City of Scales'
Nora almost wanted to throw the letter away as soon as she read who it was from.
Eirene Dissiri The highest ranking Marque, is actually the daughter of Nagisa.
Or Nora's half sister.
Walking back into the house Nora was quick to put the letter onto the counter and walk to her room, except as
Nora made her way down the hall, she felt light headed and before she could even realise it she was on the floor, eyelids heavy and closing.
______________
"Nora Thena. Welcome back to my realm."
'Dammit'
Nora sat up looking at Urana who stood tall about 4 feet in front of her with a grin and Nora internally sighed.
'Maybe this is a dream inside a dream, if so go away, go away, go away, go away-'
"Usually when people are greeted they greet the person back." Urana spoke, her tone teasing. "Yes, sorry, Not very glad to be back." Urana's grin widened as she stared at Nora who was dusting the sand of herself.
"You're quite bold aren't you." Urana said amused. "No, just honest." Nora noticed the place was a little different than before, sure the floor was still a soft sand and the sky a galaxy, but clocks hung in the air or were stuffed in sand but you could hear the muffled ticking. Though all the clocks didn't have the same time, some of them didn't even work.
"What's with the clocks?"
"Oh do you like them, I quite fancy them as well. "
"They don't have the same time, some aren't even moving."
"Yes well a broken clock is right 2 times a day and an unsynced clock could be right at any point in time, I like time being unknown, I like time being untold." Urana stated her grin turning into a sweet smile as she stared at the different clocks in her domain.
"Tell me, young one, have you come up with an answer?" The Mother of Stars' eyes stayed staring at the ticking clocks, while Nora tried to decipher it all. If she said yes, sure she would get an honorary title, a higher spot among the ranks of the cities, and new abilities or enhanced versions of the one she already has, but the power could go to her head and she would end up like Seth.
But if she said no, well that Nora wasn't so sure what would happen.
"If I said No, what would happen?"
Urana looked at the 14 year old who stood looking at her feet, "You would live. But not the same, I would have to erase your memory to ensure that you forgot about any of your encounters with me, and I would have to make sure anyone else who knows about your situation with me stay's away from you and if they cannot they will be dealt with in death. You will still be alive, but you will not have the people who make you happy."
'Akatone's life would be ruined, I would ruin my cousins life, he wouldn't even be able to go near me wherever I would go without my memories. Eden my own caretaker when I was a child wouldn't be able to visit or see me, I wouldn't be able to remember Floga, or Nokin and the others I would be alone, Oh Gods I would be alone.' Nora could feel tears beginning to prick in her eyes, the thought of being alone truly terrified her, the thought of never being able to remember anyone I loved.
"I did not wish to be so blunt with you, but I simply had no other way to put it." Urana explained watching Nora as her silent tears fell into the sand.
'In the end Akatone was right, I don't have a choice.'
"If I agree..please I don't want to end up like Seth." Nora's voice was broken and quiet much unlike her usual loud and joking nature, no Nora didn't care about everyone in the world like some hero, she cared about the ones who gave her a reason to trust and care for them, and if she didn't have her memories everyone she loved would suffer even in the littlest way.
"I chose Seth for his spirit and did not care in the way he acted, Seth's existence was my doing and the fall of my name. I do not think you will even end up close to they way Seth did."
"Then... I accept. I Nora Thena Vesperi accept to be your champion."
With a satisfied smile Urana lifted her right hand and placed it over Nora's heart whilst the other hand rested on her forehead.
