While wanting to see Diane off, Mrs. Timberlake asked her son, Anthony to stay back as she needed to have a word with him.
"You can say whatever you want in front of her, mother", Anthony entwined his fingers with Diane's to show how serious he was about his words. "I never had the chance to introduce you two, but this is Diane, my girlfriend. Diane, this is my Mother—Maria Timberlake".
"It's an honor, Mrs Timberlake", Diane outstretched her free right hand for Mrs Timberlake but the older woman merely nodded in acceptance, unwilling to shake hands with the woman. A sign that she didn't support the happy little couple.
Diane looked to Anthony before letting her hand drop with a smile on her face.
"Mother!", Anthony hissed, his brows furrowing in annoyance. How dare she openly show her disapproval of Diane?
