#Chapter3 #mycoolestmomeverisgone

All this while; I just finished cutting the rope I was tied with but rather I stayed on the seat, pretending to be tied to a rope
Dad looked at mom who tried to buy him out of the idea with her facial expression but no! Dad knew what he was doing.
Daddy blurted "Okay- it's a deal but on one condition"
"And what's that?"
"We can't discuss this here; let's move to the other room. You know" dad said trying to refer to mom. He does not want mom to know about the signing of the deal
"Oh! yeah, women" Philip nodded before turning to one of his men.
"Uhhh you follow me and you stay with them" he instructed.
"Yes, boss" The two replied and immediately Dad, Philip and one of his men walked towards the dining which was in the other room.
Meanwhile, I thought of an idea to get out of this mess knowing full well that it won't be long before they knew that I was loose.
I immediately moved my chair to create a distraction.
The henchman assigned to us turned and walked up to me. He removed the tape on my mouth and asked in a baritone voice "What do you want kid?"
"uhh; if you don't mind I need to get off my shoe; it's very hot in there" I smiley said as he looked at me before obliging
As he bent to lose my shoelace; I swiftly kick him hard on the face which resulted in injuries as blood started gushing out of his forehead. Quickly I took his gun that flew away from his back, used the bottom to hit him on the head again and immediately he fainted
seeing he went blank, I turned to mom who was shocked at what just happened. Without hesitating, I untied mom and she rushed me with a hug.
Dad on the other end was about to sign the deal when they heard the groan of the man I just kicked his ass.
"What's that sound" Philip asked as he and his men looked towards the direction of the sound.
Unknown to Philip, dad took the goon's gun which he had sighted earlier. He raised and pointed it at them.
"Woh woh woh! relax Mr Hunter; what are you trying to do?" With his hands in the air, Philip said.
Silently dad replied "Shut the fuck up and move"
"you don't have to do this; we can't talk this through Mr Hunter" Mr Philip pleaded.
But instead; dad yelled at him
"I said Move!"
"Okay, alright. just take it easy" Philip said as he turned and he and his men walked to the living room shockingly seeing me with a gun pointed at the other goon.
Instead of being shocked; Philip made a tiny chuckle and said "your kid got some guts"
"Shut it Philip, and go on your knees" Dad barked at him.
Philip and his men went on their knees but you know Philip; never stops talking.
"Mr Hunter! am trying to give you a lifetime deal; don't let it go away"
Instead of dad answering; mom walked up to him and placed a huge slap on the cheek.
"My husband is not a murderer like you" she said with tears falling from her face.
I quickly ran to her to stop but she fell on me crying.
"it's okay mom, it's okay!" I said.
Never did I know that hitting the goon was in an amateur way. Unknown to us he woke up then took another gun tied to the strap of his boot and tried to shoot me not when dad spotted him.
"Blaze watch out!" dad yelled as I turned and the next thing I heard was a gunshot.
It was actually two gunshots. The second bullet was fired from Dad's gun at the goon who shot the first one. Instantly the goon dropped dead
"Blaze, are you okay?" with a furrowed brow, dad walked and held me by the shoulder.
I nodded panting slightly.
"uh, I think so. mom! are you okay?" I turned and asked mom seeing she held her belly.
She stared at me with a drop of tear falling from one of her eyes. As she took her hands off her belly, fluids in form of blood started spilling out, staining her clothes.
"honey" with a weak voice, mom said before falling to the ground.
"Mom!" I yelled and ran to help her from falling.
Seeing what just happened; Philip knew that he was in deep trouble. He and his men fled the house while dad quickly carried mom into his car and together he drove to a nearby hospital.
Dad drove recklessly but thank god it was some minutes after ten. There were not many cars on the road. 5 minutes later we got to the hospital. Dad bundled her out of the car and ran into the hospital.

"It's okay blaze; am sure your mom will be okay" dad said as he tried to pacify me from my restlessness. Indeed I was restless. I walked to and fro with my hands crossed just like a man waiting for his wife to deliver.
"Are you sure dad? is mom gonna make it?" I asked with tears which welled up in my eyes. I knew how my life will turn out without my mom. Even though I got dad; I will still feel a vacuum in me.
My question was answered as the doctor walked up to us with a sad look. His brows lowered a bit and he shook his head repeatedly.
"am sorry Mr Hunter but we lost your wife"
Dad stared at the doctor with his brows raised and his mouth opened wide in shock. He grabbed the doctor by the cloth, pulling him to himself
"tell me you're joking, tell me doctor, my wife can't be dead"
"am sorry Mr Hunter but you got to take it easy" The doctor pleaded to try to get himself off dad who didn't let go.
While this was on, I walked slowly into the ward and met mom's lifeless body covered with a white blanket. I slowly uncovered the blanket and I saw mom's dead face. I started trembling, the same as my lips. The Inner corners of my eyebrows raised in shock. I wanted to force back those tears which were building up in my eyes but staring at her beautiful dead face, I couldn't hold it as tears began to fall from my eyes.
I was filled with pain, anguish, helplessness, and hopelessness. A part of me started ringing a motherless tone.
Mom was everything to me. Usually, dad never understood me though I called him the coolest dad ever.
To be honest, he was never cool to me. Yeah, the only reason I bragged about him in school was that my dad is a freaking genius. He built machines and invented electronics. He created cures for deadly sicknesses and all of that.
Seriously on that part, he was cool but at the same time not cool.
You wanna know why?
Okay now look at it this way, how does it feel when your dad never supports the fact that you're into comic stuff?
Hmm, that's not a good reason, I get it.
Here's another one, how will you feel when your father forces you to learn hard subjects like chemistry, biology, history and the rest?
Okay yeah, that's not also a point, all parents actually do that.
Now last one, how does it feel when your father wakes up all of a sudden and starts hitting you every day to the extent he pushed you to the wall, creating a huge cut?
Not cool right?
From that day, I started hating him, despising him but all that went over just because of mom. She talked and made me know that he doesn't hate me, he was well concerned about me and that he loves me which I knew was a lie. But the fact that she made sure I got over it made me conclude that she was my coolest mom ever.
One time, she also taught me the advantage and benefits of helping people. She'll always say "No matter what you do in life, always have it at the back of your mind that you will be remembered for the good you've done"
Somethings I back off from doing good deeds after the kind of reaction I get from them but two things keep me moving, mom's word and mom herself. Now one of them is gone which is MOM!
How am I gonna live my life without the one who acts as my encouragement, guardian, light that says "Move on, don't stay in the dark"
All this I thought, resting on her dead body with tears on my face. I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard a faint voice. Even though I was still grieving, I was kinda attracted to that voice.
Reasons I don't know.
I raised my head slowly when I caught sight of a news lady reporting an "apb" on some kind of Mr Hunter for the killing of a man found at his house.
"Wait a minute that's dad" I exclaimed as I saw dad's pics on the tv. I thought to myself, this is a handiwork of Philip.
I stood up to get dad and luckily he was at my back the whole time.
"Dad! they're looking for you everywhere" I said pointing at the tv.
"Yea I know blaze, we gotta get out of here before the doctor sees this" Dad said as he marched towards mom who was already dead. It looked like he was trying to get her out of the room.
"Check out to see if anyone's coming," Dad said while removing the wires which was attached to her hand.
I popped my head out to see if anyone was coming but luckily no one.
"Coast is clear" I whispered to dad and he nodded. He then carried mom again but this time on his shoulder before leaving the room, with me leading the way.
Turning left towards the narrow hallway, I saw the doctor at the exit, talking to 3 policemen dressed in black uniforms.
I froze so as not to get their attention but dad who didn't see them, bumped into me with a groan.
At that, the doctor caught sight of us. He quickly pointed his finger at us yelling "that's them"
We were chased.
