Akira went into a defensive stance. Lowering his poster...
'I can't hold back here... if I do, who knows what'll happen to the others and, even me.' Akira thought, his eyes sharpening.
"THAT'S IT AKIRA! SHOW ME HOW MUCH YOU'VE GROWN!!!" Rivera shouted. Charging towards her foe.
At impressive speeds, she shot a left hook towards akira. Akira dodged the punch by the skin of his teeth. His body still hasn't adapted to her speed.
'I need to draw out the fight for as long as I can... if I can grow enough. I can turn the tides and stop her.' Akira planned, charging towards her with a strike of his own.
Rivera smirked. Catching the strike with relative ease...
Akira's eyes widened...
'She hadn't only gotten faster, but stronger too...' Akira noted, his teeth clenched.
"My, you've gotten quite a bit faster than before. But, I'm a little disappointed with your growth. You should have been far stronger..." Rivera states.
Akira said nothing in response. He continued his onslaught of strikes, not letting up. With his six-eyes, he basically had no stamina issues. So he could go on forever if he wished...
However, Rivera dodged everything, then striking Akira into the stomach...
"BLUARRGGG!!!!*
Akira shouted, coughing up blood. Crashing into the ground.
'SHIT! She's hella strong!' Akira thought.
Still, he wiped the blood from his mouth. He then heard the notifications go off for the system. Then shortly after, a warm current ran though his body, as if enhancing it, making him much stronger...
'Good... this should be enough for me to stand a bit off a better chance.' Akira thought, looking up to see Rivera flying.
'That's gonna be a pain to deal with. She can fly...' Akira noted. He needed to get her down to earth quickly.
He got out of the rubble. Looking up towards her, signalling her to bring it on...
Rivera, seeing this, simply smirked, licking her lips in the process.
"Good... I thought you were out for the count with that one... but you're as tough as ever..." she stated, dashing towards him.
Akira, who now had gotten stronger from the last exchange, could see her movements better.
They both clashed again, leaving Akira on the defensive.
Rivera was not letting up. She continued to smash where she could. Her technique having being improved over the years of training was proving troublesome to deal with, but little by little, Akira was growing...
'He should be down by now... but why does it seem like he's... Oh NOO!' Rivera thought.
She remembered why Akira was so formidable... it was his evolution during battle. He grew to be far stronger than he originally was, with only a short span of time.
"OH NO YOU DON'T!" she shouted, increasing her strength more, thus pressuring Akira even more.
It was frustrating for him since he couldn't fully defend against her attacks. His body couldn't keep up fully with his eyes.
'Shit, I'm getting manhandled!' Akira thought. Barely defending himself. His martial prowess only went so far against such an opponent.
However, the more of a beating he got, the larger the boosts would become, and slowly, the boosts came. His body emanated heat... his muscles, tendons and even bones heating up greatly due to the sheer increase in strength he was receiving...
Rivera watched in awe at the sight...
Akira was now able to fight back, even push her back a little now.
'*tch!* H-He's caught up already!?' Rivera thought. She felt the pressure was now on her. Akira was actually beginning to damage her slowly but surely...
However, she quickly fled back in a burst of speed, leaving Akira a little confused.
"... Given up? If so, walk away, and I will forget this..." Akira stated, feeling the increase in strength slowly rush through his body...
"No... I'm not done just yet, little cub!" she shouted.
A dark blue light enveloped her body completely... It even managed to push Akira back a little because of the sheer wind pressure she was exuding...
'This again, her aura... but something is different... it's much more potent than before.' Akira noted.
He felt as if the pressure in the area had gotten far denser than before...
In an instant, Rivera appeared behind him.
Akira, clueless, saw that Rivera had disappeared completely. Then, in the next moment, he felt his body get flung hundreds of miles away.
He crashed through multiple trees, ending up in a mountain, denting it, creating an enormous crater...
*COUGH!! COUGH!!!*
Akira felt waves of pain hit him... pain he didn't think he would feel again...
'That damned ability... if I had just had it, maybe the fight would be different...'. Akira thought... his consciousness slipping away...
"I c-can't j-just go d-down like t-this..." Akira said, with each one of his breaths heavy... his regeneration was now taxed, barely healing him, if any at all...
He closed his eyes, already accepting defeat.
There was nothing he could do now...
Rivera appeared shortly after. Her body glowing with a powerful aura...
"... Good, you're still alive... if you only didn't reject me, little one, I wouldn't have gone so far. Do you know how much you hurt me, and my pride... but I forgive you..." she stated, walking towards his body.
*ZIT*
"What?" Rivera stopped and said aloud, hearing a faint sound of electricity...
She continued to walk closer, but...
*ZIT* *ZIT*
She heard it once more.
But not only that, it came from Akira's body...
Suddenly, a sense of danger shuddered over her being.
"Something doesn't feel right..." she commented. Looking around the area for any danger...
However, she realized that the electricity had stopped too...
She then inched closer to Akira's body and heard nothing anymore.
"...It's time to g-" she said, getting stopped by a force.
She covered her face from the sudden wind exuding. When she took a closer look at who it was, she gasped...
"No, NO, NO!!! I-Impossible... you were just... how?" She questioned. Staring at the now well, Akira.
Akira stood up, with a silverish-white aura coating him, with extremely feint black-electricity around him popping in and out of existence...
"..."
"I Guess... I finally unlocked it..." Akira said, clenching his fists tightly. His body exuding a powerful presence...
Rivera stared on with utter shock.
'H-How did he even activate his aura!? He hasn't even learned to awaken it yet!' She thought, both surprised, and strangely proud...
