The distant sound of gunfire echoes, carried by a swift wind. A man's voice screams, "It's them, the Black Ravens, Don't let them pass!" "Kill those freaks!" one guard roared in anger.
They were known for handling the missions which the government could not interfere legally and also always emerged victorious without casualties. They were called the 'Black Ravens'.
This elite team was assembled by the western powers to handle missions deemed too dangerous. Rumor had it they were the greatest assassins in the world.
"Let the researcher work fast, the Black Ravens are here!" one of the guards urged the client with panic in his voice.
"I've sent you some backup. The researcher is yet to complete the weapon and don't let them reach him."
The caller angrily ended the call.
Five minutes later, an explosion rocked the building. Two men and a woman, with cybernetic bodies, emerged from the chaos. Needles protruded from Koji's head, blood dripping, with Ki and Rita at his side.
Koji's voice boomed, "I've heard plenty about you, Black Ravens. Let's settle this once and for all right here, and we'll see who's stronger." They referred to themselves as the [Rivals] and threatened to eliminate the entire Black Raven team.
One of the guards contacted the client about the situation, and they were instructed to take orders from the three intruders.
Koji ordered the remaining guards to step aside and not interfere.
The six members of the Black Raven team launched a coordinated attack, targeting Koji first. However, Rita's barrier negated their assault. She specialized in defense and strategy.
Koji laughed menacingly as the Black Ravens regrouped, planning their counterattack against Rita's barrier.
Koji instructed Ki to gather information on the Black Ravens. Afterward, he called them out by their names and bade them farewell. "Viper, Sparrow, Lady Bug, Angel, Ram, and Honey."
He inquired about their missing member but received no response.
Viper replied, "Why do you care about our last member anyway? You'll all end up the same."
Viper and Angel charged toward the Rivals, while Honey fired an EMP to disable the barrier. Ram and Honey attacked from another angle.
LadyBug proceeded to search for the researcher as planned by the team's advisor, Aixan, who had pinpointed the researcher's location within the building.
As LadyBug sprinted down the hallway, he encountered guards blocking his path. They opened fire, but he effortlessly dodged their bullets and unsheathed his katana, slicing through them one by one.
As he approached his destination, he encountered a bare-chested stranger with tattoos and scars. Lady Bug confronted him, warning, "I'll back off now if I were you." The stranger, known as Rock, blocked Lady Bug's path with his polearm, wearing a smug expression. "My name is Rock, and make sure you don't forget it. It's not like you would since I won't let you see the light of day again."
Lady Bug sighed and responded, "They all say the same thing, and it always ends the same way. Back off now, and I'll show mercy."
Rock's anger flared, and he charged at Lady Bug with rage in his eyes.
Lady Bug took a deep breath, swung his sword, and deftly sliced Rock out of his path before continuing to the researcher's location.
He located the researcher and as he tried calling out to him a bullet was fired at him but he managed to dodge it.
"As expected from a member of the black ravens, I would have actually gotten annoyed if you didn't dodge that."
"Pedro, what are you doing here? Are you working with the enemy."
*Laughs*
"As I told you from the beginning, I am not on your side remember."
"If that's the case unfortunately I'll have to eliminate you now." said LadyBug.
"You really think you can win against me. I know everything about you inside out." replied Pedro.
Pedro looked at the pc terminal as the loading screen hit Hundred percent.
"I would have loved to stay here with you but I, time is.. not on my side, lemme just spend three minutes here." said Pedro
He aimed his gun towards the researcher.
*Bang*
"Oh, hmm, it seems I'm out of ammo. Seems today is your day." Pedro said to the researcher.
Lady Bug held onto his katana in the sheath as if to attack.
"Hold on wild dog, I'll like to tell you something about the agency you work for." said Pedro.
"What about them?" replied Lady Bug.
"They created your team to be their lap dog, clean up their dirty work, they started it all. And now a global war is about to start."
Lady Bug listened quietly.
"They realised your team was too strong now so, guess what they sent some defects to come take you all down. I just infiltrated the agency to get my hands on the weapon." said Pedro calmly.
"The one who called out the order is from the government, they run everything in the shadows, just like how no one knows you exist."
"Why are you telling me all this?" asked Lady Bug.
"To open your eyes about how you've been blinded. Am not your enemy but that guy coming towards here now could be a problem ", said Pedro.
As he looked on the screen on his watch to see the Koji heading towards the room they were in.
He fired his grapple gun towards an open window on the roof.
"Till we meet again or not, I gotta go now," said Pedro.
Lady Bug watched as he left the room.
Later together with the researcher they headed back onto the path he and his teammate parted.
As he approached the area, he witnessed Koji using his claw to pierce into his severely injured teammate.
Koji looked up and noticed LadyBug and laughed.
Ladybug stood still trying to process what he witnessed. Teardrops started to flow from his eyes.
Kofi approached him slowly, dragging his claw on the wall. As he got close to Lady Bug he noticed his eyes glowing red. Koji attacked Ladybug but his attack got parried.
"Who sent you, I don't care either way." asked LadyBug.
*Laughs*
"So you are the Ladybug, just surrender so I don't waste too much time here."
Lady Bug looked at him and unsheathed his katana which had electricity surging through it.
The two engaged in a fierce battle that lasted half an hour. Eventually, Koji grew exhausted and dropped to his knees. He complimented Lady Bug's skills and warned him about the agency he worked for.
Lady Bug approached him, showing no hesitation as he swiftly decapitated Koji. Afterward, he looked up at the ceiling and screamed out his pain.
Lady Bug was contacted and informed of the last teammate's death during a separate mission, where she perished in an explosion along with the enemy. He was asked about the team's status, and he reported their loss, making him the last surviving member.
He was later asked about the researcher's status which he confirmed was safe. A rescue chopper was sent to pick them up right after.
The researcher entered a rescue chopper as Lady Bug watched.
Months passed, and there was no word about Lady Bug's whereabouts.
