Seven years after the death of the black ravens, a war started between two nearby countries. It all began when Pedro, a spy from one of the countries, stole weapon data from the research facility. The fighting went on for years, turning into a global war. This made once-safe cities a scary place where people feared the risk of losing their lives.
Somewhere in Lockwood City:
"Yo Jinx, hand me that wrench. I need to fix this hover bike so we can get going," Maria said.
The tools clattered off the shelf with a loud crash.
"Crap, sorry Maria, I'll get them," Jinx replied.
"This whole world's gone to hell, and you're still clumsy," Maria laughed.
Maria grabbed the wrench and fixed up the hover bike after some time.
"And done, good as new. Let's hope these scraps work," Maria said.
They both looted some materials from the shop right next to the automobile shop and set out.
"Maria, how's this jacket? I found it in the locker. It fits perfectly and has lots of pockets," Jinx said.
"Okay, but don't take stuff we won't need."
Minutes later:
A group of bandits entered the shop where Jinx and Maria were and demanded that they give up everything they had.
"Would you look at that, two chicks looting my turf. Someone didn't read the sign with my name on it," the leader of the bandits commented.
He had a mohawk haircut and cybernetic arms.
Maria turned around and noticed them. She strapped her backpack.
"What do you mean, your turf? This place is literally a no man's land now, just buzz off," Maria replied.
"Emm, Maria, why don't we pass the back," Jinx whispered.
"The audacity. If you were guys, I would have shot you both dead on the spot for talking back at me so much. But since you are females, I suppose you two have things to offer. Psst, get them."
The leader sent his group after them, and they both used the back door and ran to their automobile shop.
They managed to get to the shop and start the bike to get away.
"Jinx, get on quick," Maria said.
They rode out as the bandits chased after them using hoverboards and bikes.
They sped through the street as they kept getting chased by the bandits.
The bandits started to shoot at them to somewhat slow them down.
"They're not stopping anytime soon," one bandit added.
"Well, start shooting at them, genius," another bandit replied.
"The shield won't hold much longer," Jinx said.
As Maria made a turn, she realized they had ridden into a dead end with a collapsed building blocking their escape.
"No-no, there is no road here," Maria said.
She picked up her gun and started firing, while both Maria and Jinx took cover.
"You're trapped. There's no way out of here, just stop trying to run. I won't bite," the leader said as he laughed.
They walked toward the rubble that the girls had used for cover.
"Shoot, I'm out of ammo," Maria said.
She began to panic as she saw the bandits running towards them.
They both tried to find a way to run but couldn't.
"Just give up; there's nowhere to run," the bandit leader said.
He touched Maria's face.
"Don't touch me, you goon," Maria said.
"Still can't seem to see the situation you're in, you fool."
*Slap*
He slapped her face, throwing her to the ground.
Jinx rushed to defend Maria.
"Please stop, just leave us alone. We aren't from around here, so we didn't know your rules, so...stop."
The bandits all started to laugh.
"Hey boss, this one is cute, let's keep her," one bandit added.
They kept on laughing, but they heard a voice from behind them. They turned around and saw a man behind them.
"Hey, they said to leave them alone. So just do that," the man said.
"This day just got better, boys. Who in the hell are you to order me around? Crawl back into the hole you came from before I kill you," the leader of the bandits said.
The man kept walking toward them after the threat.
"Hey, you deaf or something?" the leader said.
He signaled one of his men to go and handle the approaching man.
"First kill of today," the bandit smirked as he ran toward the man.
But before he could attack, he got cut in half by the man using his katana.
"What the heck, all of you, get him now," the leader screamed.
They started to fire at the approaching man, but he dodged all their shots.
They dropped their guns and started to use their cybernetic weapons to charge toward the man. They dashed toward him and kept attacking him, but the man managed to dodge their attacks and kill three of them, leaving five remaining.
"Do you still want to continue?" The man commented.
*Whoosh, slash*
They swung their weapons to try to kill the man, but to no avail. He just speed-blitzed right through their attack, leaving a pool of blood flowing on the ground.
As the man got closer to the leader (bandit), he raised his sword toward him, but as he tried to slash him, the bandit held Jinx as a hostage to use as a shield.
"Don't come any closer, you freak, or I'll shoot her," the leader said in fear.
The man watched him for a moment. Then he put his katana back in its sheath.
"Good, that's what I thought. Now back off," the bandit said boastfully.
The man looked up at the bandit with his eyes glowing red.
"You're...him. Red eyes, black hair. They said you died. I..." Jinx stammered.
"What do you mean, girl? Who the heck is he? He's just a..."
The man dashed upon, noticing the bandit was distracted, he grabbed the bandit's face, disarmed him, and smashed his head onto the ground, killing him in the process.
As Jinx helped Maria up, the man turned around to leave but was called out by Jinx.
"Wait, please hear me out," Jinx shouted.
The man turned to listen.
"Are you him, are you...Lady Bug of the Black Ravens?"
