Accepting my feelings for Leo is one of the craziest things I've ever done, I don't even know if I'm doing the right thing.
Standing up from my chair, I decided to get permission and go out to my diner, me staying in this office isn't going to help me clear my head, I've probably lost a friend due to me accepting my feelings.
Yeah, what Noah said really hurt me, but I know that's not who he is, he was only speaking out of anger.
Gently knocking on Leo's door, I entered immediately I heard his voice asking me to come in.
"Missed me already" he teased.
"You wish" I said.
"May I please leave for today?" I asked politely, we might have something going on but he is still my boss and whatever it is we have right now is still quite rocky.
"Why?" he asked.
"I need to branch at the diner" I said, and he looked at me suspiciously before nodding his head, I don't need to tell him that I'm planning to branch at Noah's too, that's probably not going to end well.
"Okay, just forward all important details I might need to my email and take the week off, you deserve it" he said.
"Thank you so much but the week off isn't necessary, I'm planning on dropping my resignation letter by the end of the week" I said cautiously, and he sat straight on his seat.
"Are you that eager to leave?" he asked quietly.
"It's not that, I really need to focus on the diner and me working here still after accepting to work things out with you will make me really uncomfortable" I explained, and he nodded after staring at me for quite a while.
"I understand, can I pick you up tonight for a date?" he asked, and I stared at him lost and suddenly shy.
"What?" I asked stupidly like I didn't just hear what he said.
"It's fine if you aren't ready, I just think it'll help us get to know each other better" he said quickly.
"No, it's fine, I'll love that actually" I said blushing and happy when I saw the smile that broke out on his face.
"Okay see you later then" he said waving and I waved back while awkwardly working backwards still facing him until my head hit the door and he tried containing his smile, I ran out of the office in embarrassment, went back to my office and packed my bags, I said goodbye to Alexander and explained to her that I needed to branch somewhere.
It didn't take me long to reach the diner as I took my car, and it isn't too far from the King's company.
Wow, I didn't know my diner was doing so well already, it was very hard to find a free space to park as the whole parking lot was filled.
After finding a space to park, I went in beaming and for the first time in a while I felt at peace, the joy of accomplishing this, something so simple to others but big to me, this is all me, a girl who worked as a TV host then promoted to a manager but had to resign and got a new job as a personal assistant to a big company, is now the owner of a cute little diner, it's weird I know.
"Boss" someone yelled from the counter, and I looked to see my manager, Ray waving frantically at me but soon got distracted by the grumpy customers. I immediately went to the staff only area, took one apron and helped them. George and Katty greeted me but everyone is so busy there's no time to talk. George is my chef and Katty is our only waitress for now.
"How is it going boss?" Ray asked as he collected the new order Katie brought and passed it to George.
"Two sandwiches, a cup of expresso and one black coffee coming in" he said as he passed the order to Katty before she scurried off. Yeah, we surely need new employees.
"I'm definitely not as busy as you guys" I said amazed.
"It's nothing, we're getting used to it" he said and went in to help George, I decided to join Katty and assist on some tables, so I took a pen and booklet left on the counter and decided to start work, meeting up with Noah can wait till later.
"Hello, I'm Rose, what would you like to order?" I asked the group of friends currently occupying our table four.
"Can we get two sandwich special, one chicken shawarma, and grilled croaker fish and for drinks, two iced tea and two apple juice" the boy closest to me said ordering for the four of them and I jutted everything down quickly.
"Noted" I said smiling a little at them before leaving and handing over the note to Ray who smiled at me proudly.
"You're settling into your new job nicely boss, but I think your position is meant to be in the office" he said pointing his index finger to the door at the far end of the little diner.
"I'm the boss, so I can position myself anywhere" I said smugly, and we both laughed earning glares from some customers that haven't been attended to.
"Very well then, on table seven are people from Tory, I told Katty to leave the table to you since you're here, the chairman of the company is there too" Ray said and I looked to the said table, the first person I noticed was James George and I saw the back of a man facing me, he must be the chairman but how did I miss there presence before.
"They just came in" Ray said like he was reading my mind and I nodded grabbing the note and pen, I went closer to their table.
"Hello, I'm Rose, what would you like to order?" I said politely making their attention drawn to me. The chairman looked up and stared at me with his mouth opened, his honey brown eyes staring into mine shocked and I was also left speechless as I stared into the eyes that was a replica of my own.
"Hi there Rose, I didn't know you also worked as a waitress?" MR. James voice brought me out of the staring contest I was in with the chairman of Tory Enterprise.
"Yeah, it's just something I do" I replied, and he looked at me confused before introducing me to the chairman.
"Meet my dad, dad remember the lady I told you about, Roselle, this is her" he said.
"Hi, it's nice to finally meet you MR. George" I said politely, and the man was just lost staring at me.
"Tory?" he asked whispering, somewhat hopefully as tears filled his eyes.
"No sir, I'm Roselle" I said nervously as I glanced at MR. James confused but he seems to be as confused as I am.
"My bad, it's nice to finally meet you, my son said a lot about you, and I must say even I am shocked" he said, and I figured it was probably because I looked like his youngest daughter, Grace. His son also mistook me for her when he first saw me.
"I heard you would like to partner with our diner, I was really happy to hear that" I said changing the topic as it was getting really awkward for my liking.
"Wow, you own this diner?" MR. James asked, and I nodded proudly, and he congratulated me on opening it, all the while the chairman's eyes was still on me, and I was very uncomfortable as it seems he was looking for something.
"So can I take your order now?" I asked again.
"Yes" MR. James answered and proceeded to help everyone order, I almost forgot there where three other people with them.
I took their other and left but not before hearing the chairman whispering 'that's definitely my Tory' making me confused more.
Who is Tory?
Another child of his??
