Roxanne sat down in the passenger seat beside the driver. She felt the driver's gaze bore into her. Despite her unease, Roxanne remained composed and kept her gaze forward.
After 30 minutes the car eventually came to a stop outside the restaurant.
"Boss we are here." The driver announced.
Roxanne exited the car with relief while the driver opened the door for the boss.
A tall, handsome man dressed in a black suit stepped out of the car with his hand in his pants pocket.
Black hair as dark as the night sky, bright turquoise eyes. His gaze was sharp as he stood surveying his surroundings.
Roxanne gasped when she looked at his face. Previously she was only able to see his side profile, but now she can see his entire face, which left her speechless and stunned.
She felt as if she was looking at a masterpiece. His handsome features and strong jawline were so flawless and precise that it seemed as if they were created with divine precision.
She could not help but admire the sparkle in his eyes that she had not noticed before.
"Too bright." Roxanne whispered as she turned to look away. His beauty was too much for her to handle.
"What's wrong with you?" He asked. When he saw the hand blocking her face.
"Oh, nothing. It's just the sun reflecting in my eyes." Roxanne replied, dropping her hand from her face. "I just need a moment to adjust," Roxanne added.
"That is why you shouldn't look directly at the sun." He said arrogantly as he strode off in large steps with his body emitting a dangerous and sophisticated aura.
"But that doesn't mean you have to be so condescending." Feeling frustrated by his arrogance, Roxanne muttered under her breath as she followed him. If it wasn't because of the advantage she wanted to gain from him she wouldn't be here with him in the first place a d be facing such rudeness.
They both walked into the restaurant as a waiter walked towards the two unfamiliar figures. He could tell that the man in black was an imposing figure, exuding an air of power that filled the room.
"Welcome sir and ma to our restaurant." The waiter welcomed them with a smile and directed them to an empty table.
All eyes were on them as they made their way to their table. It was easy for people to notice if someone walked into the restaurant since it was not a large one.
"What are your orders?" The waiter asked after they both had taken their seats. He picked up the menu, and turned to Roxanne, who was quietly scanning the premises while sitting in a chair.
"You can order whatever you want and they will serve it." He said calmly with no expression on his handsome face.
"Hmph! What a cold guy." Shrugging off his aloofness, Roxanne decided to take control of the situation not letting his attitude ruin her mood and enjoy her meal. Taking a look at the menu, she ordered what she wanted.
As soon as the waiter noted Roxanne's order, he left to bring the food to her. The waiter returned with three sets of dishes after 5 minutes.
"This is your order miss. Please enjoy your meal and if you need anything else please call for me." The waiter said after serving the dish and left the two alone.
She felt her mouth watering as she couldn't resist the urge to indulge in the food in front of her. Without hesitation, Roxanne dived into the feast. She took an enormous bite, savoring the flavor of the food as it filled her senses.
She was about to start eating her second dish when a cold voice interrupted her.
"What kind of lady eats without a care?" He asked.
It was clear that Roxanne truly enjoyed her food, savoring every bite without worrying about the consequences.
Other ladies would fawn over his handsome face the moment they saw him. Roxanne, however, was different; she was not concerned about his looks. She possessed a genuine sense of self, and that was something he had never encountered before.
Not only did Roxanne shamelessly ask him for a meal, but she also didn't care about the way she ate.
Rozanne raised her head to look at him. "This kind of lady." She replied curtly as she turned her attention back to her food.
She was clearly unapologetic about her behavior, as her demeanor displayed no shame for her actions.
'If only he knew how crazy I was about my looks in my past life. The diet I followed was even stricter than a model's.' Roxanne thought as she almost laughed at her stupidity.
"Hey, aren't you going to order food?" Roxanne asked noticing that he hadn't ordered anything.
"Took you long to notice. I came here to buy you a meal. And I have better things to do than eating with a little girl." He said coldly.
Roxanne almost spat out the food in her mouth.
'Am I that unpleasant to eat with?'
"Well, that's your loss. And please don't call me a little girl anymore." Roxanne declared firmly.
After Roxanne finished eating her food, she got up and made her way toward the exit while he paid the bills.
They both walked out of the restaurant. The driver quickly opened the backseat door when he spotted his boss walking out of the restaurant with the young lady behind him.
He was about to get into the car when Roxanne stopped him from behind.
"Hey wait, thank you for buying me a meal." Roxanne thanked him as she turned around.
"I hope you don't take a risky job like that again because next time I might really hit you." He said.
'Okay, this guy wouldn't just let this go. Would he?
Roxanne turned to look him straight in the eye. "I thought I told you that no one paid me and it was just a coincidence. I don't even know who the hell you are." Roxanne said as she glared furiously at him.
"Then I hope we don't meet again." He said as he entered the car without waiting for her reply. The driver closed the door. He took one last look at Roxanne before he entered the car and drove off.
She watched the car pull away until it disappeared in the distance.
"What an annoying and frustrating guy." Roxanne muttered as she glanced in the direction of the car.
....
After driving a few distance from the restaurant. The driver looked at his boss in the rearview mirror.
"Boss, the secretary called asking where you are. So I told him about the situation." The driver reported.
When he accompanied Roxanne to the restaurant, the driver received a call from his boss' secretary. Because he was late for the meeting, he had no choice but to inform the secretary of their situation.
"Hm.. I understand." He said as he pulled out his phone from his pocket and dialed his secretary's number.
"Boss, where are you? It would be greatly appreciated if you could tell me where you are. The people are already impatiently waiting for you." A nervous voice answered the call.
"Tell them something urgent came up and I will be there shortly." Damien handed his order to the secretary calmly.
"Boss I have already come up with a different excuse. They are very imposing, so if you don't show up, they will leave." The secretary anxiously said.
"They can leave if they want to." Damien said coldly. Having already been through so much, he would not allow some clients to treat him this way.
"We can't let that happen," Harry insisted. "You know how critical this contract is to us." Harry was determined not to let all of his efforts go to waste. It took him more than three months to secure that contract.
"It would be great if you could just come and handle this contract for me. It took me a long time to obtain this contract," Harry pleaded. He just couldn't accept that Damien would throw such a huge contract away.
"Harry, if you keep pestering me about that contract, I will deduct a month's salary from your cash." Damien said.
"But boss..." Harry was unable to finish his sentence before Damien hung up the phone.
"He wouldn't even listen to me. It's like talking to a wall." Harry sighed. Frustrated, he made his way back to the conference room.
Few minutes later the driver parked the car in the garage. In order not to let the workers know that he was late, Damien walked directly to the elevator after getting out of the car.
He pressed the button on the last floor, which is where the CEO's office is always located. As soon as the elevator door opened, Damien walked briskly to the CEO's office.
"Boss, have you arrived already?" Harry asked quickly as he approached Damien.
Damien nodded his head slowly. "Hm..I just arrived." He answered calmly as he walked toward his office in large strides, with Harry following behind.
He opened the door and stepped inside confidently, taking in the sight and surveying his office. He was pleased with the organization and tidiness of the room.
As he sat back behind the desk, he looked at Harry, who stood in front of him holding a file.
In the office, a cold voice broke the silence. "Report," he said.
"The Wills Cooperation representative left earlier. And these are the files you need to go through from the Marketing department and the Financial department. We also got a call from our company branch in country A. They have a small problem with the production team." Harry concluded his report as he placed the files on the desk.
"What about the schedule for today?" Damien asked as he opened the file on the table.
"You have a meeting with our production manager at 2pm. And a dinner meeting with the CEO of the C.T. Modeling Company. By the way, boss, Mr. Liam called. He said you should stop ignoring his call." Harry finished with his report.
"You can leave Harry and if that idiot calls again tell him to find something to do with his life." Damien waved Harry out of the room.
"Okay boss." Harry said as he close the door behind him.
