Chapter 13 - FIRCE BATTLE FOR THE FIRST PLACE TWO

Both combats had serious expressions on their face as they truly try to calm their spirit and heart to concentrate fully on the next round of clashes. Any mistake could lead to serious injury or even death. Just imagine being decapitated y your sword in front of millions of spectators.

As they concentrated on their sword intent and sword qi. Tornadoes of sword qi were manifested by each of them above their head. This is a testament to how serious they were both treating this fight. it also shows how talented they are.

Mai Lin Lin had a sword qi as deep as an ocean and the colour of light blue since she cultivates a Yin energy-based sword technique. With the cry of the death butterfly, one could feel a chill blowing over as her sword qi threatens to freeze everything in its path. This technique was developed when the Matriwch of the Mai clan went and captured a Yin spirit to despair Elop this technique.

On the other side Li Bai Tin had a sword qi tornado that was tinged crimson, a blazing heat could be felt wafting over from where he stood. The Immortal Dragons dance technique was developed by an ancestor who had the opportunity to see the mystical divine Dragon soaring in the sky. He was fortunate enough to acquire the dragon's breath of fire, which he had inculcated into the technique; hence the blazing heat.

Now both of these techniques were a nemesis to the other, water and fire do not mix at all. One would cancel the other out. So now it depends on who is stronger than the opponent. Only their element can outdoor the other.

Mai Lin Lin assembled her flying swords at both her right and left sides in the form of a mini shield; that she could call on in time of need. she took a horse stance and pointed her sword towards her opponent. She was ready to pounce on him at the least opportunity or openings in his stance.

Li Bai Tin at this point covered himself with fire energy in his sword qi in an attempt to repel off the huge amount of ice that would be hurled his way in a few moments. He held his sword in front of him as he place one foot in front of the other and stretched them apart; while he formed his finger technique, the Quilin hoof sword finger. He had assembled his flying sword as a shield in mid-air and had it circumvent around him from time to time.

Both Combatants slowly moved towards each other, about thirty metres out both of them vanished from the spot where they had stood earlier and the next thing was a series of ear-splitting clashes of sword against sword. The Elders had to quickly reinforce the yunqi barrier once more.

No one had expected this fight to become that fierce and forceful a lot of sudden. The Combatants had dropped all forms of civility at this point. They hadn't vanished earlier, it was just that their speed had become so unimaginably fast that only a few high-level cultivators can keep track of their combat.

A lot of people had powered their eyes with yunqi but were only able to catch scraps and pieces of their movement. Only the high-level cultivators were able to see in part the battle raging on the stage. They were shocked by how agile these peak mid-Xantian Martial Force Realm cultivators were. Of course, their movement techniques played a huge part but still, one had to hand it to them. They were indeed the top most of the top geniuses.

In the fight, the icy Yin energy and the fiery Yang energy collided with aggressive Ely as they tried to cancel each other out. Flying swords at this point could only be used for shields and occasional sneak attacks by both sides. They clashed with their treasured swords, they kicked and hit each other with palm strikes imbued with sword intents.

They leapt, assaulted twirled, twisted and turned in attempts to dodge each other's strikes. It was indeed a gruesome fight, there were cuts and bruises on both parties. A few mouthfuls of blood were vomited on both sides as they try to outsmart their opponents and beat them. It was a game of give and take with light to heavy injuries being sustained by both fighters.

Li Bai Tin finally landed a Quilin hoof sword finger on Mai Lin Lin, he had wanted to hit her vital point but missed by a few inches as she moved to the left to avoid contact. She took the hit on her collarbone instead. She also took the opportunity to land her technique, Poison of the death butterfly palm on his right shoulder as they both flew backwards from the impact.

They both landed on the Arena, Mai Lin Lin had a broken collar bone and she had to quickly use her yin energy to freeze the sword qi that had invaded her body. Li Bai Tin wanted to press the Advantage and finish her off only to feel a heart-reaching pain that caused him to collapse onto one knee.

As he checked himself, he realised he had been poisoned and his earlier rush had helped it to quickly spread within his body. He instantly felt an icy energy moving within his body trying to freeze his blood. He quickly used his yang energy to suppress and eliminate the Yin poison but realised he was unable to expel it. He quickly suppressed it with the intent of finishing off his opponent to get an elder to expel it for him before it cause irreparable damage to his body and cultivation.

Mai Lin Lin stood in place with her sword arm limp as she was unable to move it. the throbbing pain seems to have been about to knock her out, this image and the troublesome yin poison running in his body caused Li Bai Tin to miscalculate and swoop in for a supposed finish which led to his downfall and defeat.

He hastily tapped his toe on the stage and shot out like an arrow on an over-stretched bowstring. Within a blink of an eye, he had appeared before the supposed exhausted Mai Lin Lin and stretched his arms away from his body to land a double palm strike on his opponent to finish her off.

Unfortunately, all he saw was a sweet smile as the beautiful Mai Lin Lin moved like a phantom being propelled by a raging storm towards him. He was first confused, "Shouldn't she be trying to avoid my strike? Why is she moving towards me rather; and what's it with that beautiful smile?".

" Oohhh nooo, something is wrong," Li Bai Tin thought to himself as he was about to pull his arms back together and push Mai Lin Lin away. Alas, Mai Lin Lin was faster and quicker.

By the time his arms would come back, she was already in his arms and the defensive posture he was going for turned into an intimate hug with his opponent as he didn't bring his arms back quick enough. They both stood in the embrace in the middle of the stage.

" What is that boy doing, are they fighting or they are supposed to hug? What a shameless fella, first you choose a lady to fight with then it ended in him hugging her?!" One cultivator complained out of envy.

The other responded, "This guy is a lecherous man, how could he do that, in the middle of battle too? indeed totally shameless. I feel like marching up there and giving him a dirty slap."

" You?! slap him with which strength, please stop blabbing and sit down. Can't you see the beauty run into his arms by herself?" His companion reprimanded him for running his mouth.

Their posture confused everyone in the Arena with just what is happening. This is so inappropriate. Could they have fallen in love with each other whiles fighting earlier? Right now they look like long-time separated lovers who have found each.

In the Sect Elders observing pavilion, " Mhhmmm? The death monarch's hug of ice, well this descendant has got some talent. The poor boy is finished" Elder Mai Ting said as she took a sip from her cup. She had already predicted her win because she knew Everything about her.

The elders in the pavilion knew they hadn't fallen in love, and nor were they hugging. With their thousands of years of experience, it was easy for them to deduce that Li Bai Tin was finished. But the ending was still baffling to them. To death an opponent by hugging them. What a shameful way to go.

On the stage, Mai Lin Lin stepped back from the hug and left Li Bai Tin completely frozen and encased in a thick layer of ice. Completely I was mobile and utterly defeated. It was then that it dawned on the spectators that what they had thought was a hug was actually and deadly move.

"Aishhh, aiyooo, what an embarrassing way to be defeated, a deadly hug by a beauty in front of millions of people. poor boy." One cultivator shouted and the whole Arena burst into uncontrollable laughter. Li Bai Tin could not help but turn green from embarrassment.

The Supervisor flew down and declared, " Mai Lin Lin from the White Lotus country wins this round and shall proceed to the combat for the first and second place. The spectators burst into loud applause and cheers.

An interesting fight indeed, but the ending was also a surprise to the spectators. Now one more contestant for the Tal showdown to begin. Who is going to be the patron
