"Wait a minute! What screen?" Hades was the first to ask that question to Jude.
"I don't know, man. It's just a blue screen of some sorts. It is congratulating me for waking up and making a movement of my own and all." Jude replied.
"Goddamn it." Hades mumbled.
"What happened?" Persephone turned towards Hades with a concerned look on her face and asked.
"Well, it seems like we might've just screwed it up for ourselves." Hades replied.
"Honey, you gotta explain stuff, you know? If you're just saying that as it is, I'm not going to be able to respond to the crisis." Persephone shrugged as she spoke.
Hades sighed. "It looks like the other Gods had already granted a system of sorts to guide and monitor Jude over here." He replied.
"And that would mean that we are here for basically nothing?" Persephone asked.
"Exactly. On top of that, we did decide to bind ourselves to a contract with him as well. Which would mean that we royally screwed up, since we got nothing to do, essentially." Hades shrugged as he spoke.
"Ha, I guess we should've planned out all of this properly. I mean, had we did that, we wouldn't have been in this situation. At least we should have contacted the other Gods when we decided to do this. I guess that all faults lie on us." Persephone sighed this time around.
"I guess so. But it's not like we can do anything about it now. I mean, the only time that we could release him from this contract is when he successfully completes his task. Until then, we are bound to him just like this." Hades replied.
"Yea, we should've played it safe back then. It's my fault for making it such an iron clad contract." Persephone looked quite disappointed at herself as she said that.
"Well, there's no point in blaming yourself now, is there?" Hades asked, to which Persephone lightly nodded her head. "So, rather than doing that, let's aim to aid Jude on his task, which would in turn lead us back to the underworld." He spoke.
"I mean, it's not like I'm particularly in a hurry to return to the underworld or anything. It's just that I feel so useless when the only job that we planned on partaking has been snatched by this so-called system." Persephone replied.
"Well, the system has not just snatched the only job that we planned on doing, but is on for the ones we're planning to do as well." Hades spoke.
"What exactly do you mean by that?" Persephone had a confused look on her face as she asked her husband that question.
"I mean, if it's the same system that I'm thinking of, I believe that it has a reward setting for doing each tasks and all, which would aid him against his adversaries and probably help him fix his body and all as well, I guess." Hades replied.
"Wait, are you guys telling me that you lot are essentially useless?" Jude couldn't help but laugh at that point, before he started surfing the system.
"Wow, to see a random human insult us like this... Man, if this was the underworld, I wouldn't have let this slide." Hades seemed really furious as he said those words.
"Calm down, honey. It's not like you didn't know that he would be an asshole already." Persephone shrugged as she spoke.
"Oh, thank you for the compliment." Jude had a bright smile on his face as he said that.
"This guy really has no shame, huh?" Hades mumbled.
"Nah, not really. And there's no shame in admitting that you're an asshole, you see?" Jude shrugged as he spoke.
"Ha, whatever." Hades muttered before turning towards his wife. "Now, there is a plus point for this, though. I mean, since we have nothing to do, we can tour this world as much as we want to. Like, I don't think he would succeed in doing his task for the next hundred years or something. And when that happens, the Gods are gonna take away the system and all the benefits associated with it. Then we could probably claim the breach of contract or something. I mean, I'm pretty sure that we made a clause that if he doesn't succeed in a hundred years, we can cut him off and drag his soul back to the underworld and all. So, that means that we essentially have a hundred years for us to enjoy." He smiled as he said that.
"Yea, a positive outlook about this situation is exactly what I want now." Persephone spoke.
"Great. So, what are we waiting for? Shall we go ahead and do it?" Hades asked, to which his wife nodded her head quite vigorously.
"Wait a minute!" It was Jude's voice that happened to stop them at that point.
"What is it?" Hades asked, albeit unwillingly.
"What's wrong with this system?" He asked, looking all panicked.
"What happened?" Persephone asked back.
"Well, you told me that the system rewards me for the task that I do, right? But I have received no such rewards. There's just congratulatory texts and all. There's no mention of rewards!" Jude shrieked as he spoke.
"Now, now. Don't freak out. It's probably because these are the tutorial stages and the system doesn't deem it important to give you any rewards at this point." Persephone shrugged as she spoke.
"Nah, that's not how it works, man. It's usually the other way around. The system deems the tutorial stages as a very important stage and rains rewards to the people. And the fact that it hasn't happened to you is almost unnatural to speak about." Hades muttered.
"What the hell? What is going on? Is there some kind of malfunction or something? Should I be reporting this to the administrator or something? This has got to be fixed, man!" Jude continued freaking out at that point.
However, Hades started laughing out loud out of nowhere to the point that it seemed crazy for the people who witnessed it.
