Chereads / Ascension To Magic Godhood / Chapter 19 - Burning Lifeforce

Chapter 19 - Burning Lifeforce

Instantly, Andrew and the unknown figure warped to the waiting room of the biome, where all eliminated cadets were situated.

Andrew was surprised since the view that unfolded in front of him was something he completely didn't expect.

All the cadets were healed but they were seated in a weird position. Their both knees on the ground, their hands on the knees as they all bowed their heads towards the particular direction.

At that location, on a throne was seated a chestnut  haired youth around 9 or 10 years old. He had his omnipresent smile on his face. He eyed everyone with his energetic eyes until black-robed figure warped in front of him with a 7 year old kid held by his collar and filled with holes throughout his body.

His figure looked sorry as his injuries had some leaves on them, but Andrew didn't manage to patch them all, so his figure looked straight out of drama or a fairy tale. A wounded hero.

"Lariel, did you bring everyone I asked?" Noah asked with an amused expression on his face as he could easily decide the fates of everyone present.

"Not yet, Young Master, it took a while for me to crack the array core so he is the first one who I directly brought from survivors of the jungle biome" said Lariel as he respectfully bowed.

"Then bring them all" said Noah as he casually waved his hand as a sign of dismissal.

Lariel complied immediately, as he bowed to Noah before warping back to the jungle biome.

Andrew was dropped on his knees by oppressing pressure. He couldn't move any part of his body, but thankfully his wounds started to heal. The berserk array still did its job even though it was a total mess.

Noah stood up from his throne made out of black precious metal and it was adorned with glowing gems and crystals. It had an edgy vibe as it exuded sinister aesthetics.

Noah approached kneeling Andrew with a smug face.

"To think I have never managed to defeat you even once..." he said as he looked at perfectly healed Andrew with ragged robes full of holes.

Noah raised his head to look at every cadet. His gaze went through their figures as he played his memories with them.

He always was #2, always below Andrew. But he held no animosity for this or Andrew's recent ambush. He was someone who despised sweeping his weaknesses under the rugs.

He always wanted to be better, to be the best! He could never overcome the mountain which was Andrew, even when he became so much more powerful than he was before, he was still far behind.

He had a goal, to trample over everyone who dares to stand on his path. It may seem idealistic, but for him, it was his path. The path he wants to tread with his own strength!

"Rejoice my friends! Today, you get a god-sent opportunity! You can become members of the glorious Demonic Cult!" said Noah enthusiastically as his smile reached new levels.

'Demonic Cult! One of the 3 divine religions!' Andrew was astonished. It totally blew him off that they were captured by Demonic Cult.

Noah eyed everyone's expression, all of them were aware of what Demonic Cult was. The caretakers in Tania's Orphanage would often threaten them into obedience using its name.

Entire Aria feared this cult! Even with the presence of the Church of Light the religion of Solar Goddess Scarlett, Arians still lived in absolute fear since demons ruled Aria for millions of years before the ascension of Solar Goddess Scarlett.

The demons were cold-hearted and power-hungry beings. Their society evolved by the rule of "the strongest". Although, human society also adhered to this universal law, they still held some considerations and boundaries. But demons were different.

For power,  they are willing to do anything. To kill anyone!

Only by being their mother and father, or their parental sibling, you have a minor chance to make your way to their hearts.

Noah's gaze went through everyone, all of them more or less showed signs of horror, unwillingness, submission, disbelief, anger and many more.

Clearly, some of the orphans had not so much pleasant history with demons.

Yet, the only person who remained calm outward was Andrew, he was expressionless as usual as he looked for a way to get out of this situation.

He was 100% sure that Noah can easily decide his fate now, of course with the help of Lariel.

'As expected of the one who I chose as my rival!' Noah thought in his head as he was content with the decision he made.

Shortly after, Lariel returned with another bunch of cadets, the reality they had to face was tragic.

Eventually, everyone was there.

Noah sat on his luxurious throne with his hand supporting his chin. Lariel patiently stood by his side awaiting orders. Noah had changed his robes into luxurious black ones as it gave him a noble aura. He more looked like a king giving a decree to his subjects with his extravagant look.

No one dared to breathe loudly, even if they wanted to, they wouldn't be able to do so since the array under Lariel's control would suppress the loud sounds in order not to disturb his Young Master.

"Young Master, it's time to go" Lariel said as a pitch black sphere appeared in his hands. It gave deathly vibes as if wanting to suck the energy out of everything.

Noah's eyes glowed seeing this object but he quickly remembered the situation they were in.

"Is Warp to Demonic Abode ready?" Noah asked.

"Yes!" Lariel replied as air around the sphere started to distort.

"Good" he said those words as he turned to look at the kneeling cadets, no, future demons!

"My friends! It's time to go, I hope you won't lose yourself out there" Noah devilishly grinned as he gestured for the Warp to commence.

Outside the boot camp, Captain Keith and Town Lord Loid patiently waited for the whole event to conclude. They went through possible reasons which might have resulted in such disaster.

'Maybe they offended someone they shouldn't have?' they collectively thought as they ordered their troops to keep the distance.

The town's arrays were at full power as the walls of the town glowed with a radiant blue. It gave an imposing feeling as if nothing can enter nor escape...

Of course, it was just a feeling.

Everyone present outside the boot camp was confident in the fact that the elites of the town will capture whoever dared to intrude into their home.

They held utmost hope and confidence in them since they haven't seen major accidents or catastrophes happen for a long time.

Captain Keith and Town Lord Loid were as confident as them. Not doubting the combined maximum power of the arrays even one bit.

They sure would have reacted differently if they found out that the Oswool Boot Camp array was edited.

Unfortunately, to know the live status and vital information of the array one needs to be in direct contact with Array Core.

Array Core is an object which is connected with all circles and symbols of the array. It can activate the array anytime. Unlike, Array Keys, which can only activate specific functions of the array. Array Core grants full authority over the abilities of the array.

Suddenly, the blue glow on the walls flickered madly as explosions started to occur left and right.

Both Captain and Town Lord were stupefied!

"What the fuck is happening?" they both blurted out as they knew who was behind all this mess.

Both Captain and Town Lord pointed their hands towards the transparent dome that protected the whole boot camp.

Captain Keith pointed with his index finger as white light started to glow from its tip.

Town Lord Loid interlocked his hands as his eyes' irises turned golden.

Their robes insanely fluttered from the absurd amount of mana they were pouring into their spells.

Town Lord Loid and Captain Keith both unleashed their spells at the same time.

Captain Keith's *Star Finger* and Town Lord's *Concentrated Shockwave* shot out towards the dome.

The town briefly witnessed the birth of a miniature star while an earthquake shook the entire boot camp.

The defensive dome of the boot camp shattered the moment the spells came into the contact with the barrier.

At the same instant when the dome was shattered, Town Lord and Captain instantly used *Spatial Chaos* spell which made space and mana go haywire since the chaotic energies disrupted the natural flow of energy, disturbing the static state of the space.

Unfortunately, it was of no use to someone of Lariel's caliber.

For a brief moment, pulsating energy wave spread throughout the vicinity.

Town Lord Loid and Captain Keith were instantly frozen in place. Their instincts screamed to run!

Town Lord Loid snapped first out of a petrified state. He didn't hesitate to use Captain Keith as a meat shield as he instantly grabbed him by his arm and positioned in front of him.

He knew what was coming.

In the next moment, a new pulse reverberated throughout the area. It was even visible to the naked eye. It was pitch black and gave the feeling of abject horror.

It mentally pressured everyone in the surrounding to accept the sweet embrace of death.

Mortals instantly gave in to this feeling while the weakest mages resisted for a while until they succumbed too.

After grabbing Captain Keith's arm, Town Lord Loid sent a massive electrical shock as Captain Keith was almost cooked alive like a grilled chicken.

Town Lord Loid poured his mana into Captain's body as he cast not so family friendly spell.

Suddenly, a blue glow illuminated the entire town...

The mana inside Captain Keith's body was being burnt!

His vibrant vitality was being used as fuel and his body as a meat shield.

Town Lord executed all these actions while it was still hallway for him to be stricken by the dark pulsating energy wave.

He activated the lesser version of that spell again which consumed less mana.

The spell looked more refined and polished since a blue glow enveloped his entire figure like armor.

He looked at all the figures that were sucked dry of their vitality.

They were nothing but bonny corpses as they eventually crumbled into the dust...

The energy wave approached!
