Chapter 13 - Unyielding Fortitude And Boundless Potential

Elyon's Pov

The book was a revelation for me, opening my eyes to a world of possibilities and potential. It was filled with more good news than bad, and I was particularly struck by its insights into physical strength. The book showed me that even without the benefit of formal training or physical exercise, I possess a unique and impressive toughness that is truly exceptional.

Ever since I came into this world, my body has been resilient like an unyielding fortress.

Not once have I experienced the aches of stiffness nor the torment of sickness.

It feels as if I am immune to anything that could possibly disrupt my body's natural state.

I am a bastion of strength and health, with a body that could withstand the test of time itself.

Imagine a towering castle, with walls as thick as stone and a moat filled with crystal clear water surrounding it.

The castle stands tall and proud, impenetrable from any outside dangers. This is how I feel about my own body. It's like a fortress that is impervious to any harm, with a defense system that is unbreakable.

I have come to realize that my body is unique, a gift that feels like a cheat.

Since I am not bound by the limits of my physical form, my core would surge with power; an unstoppable force that would give me an edge above any other awakened.

I can almost feel the energy coursing through me, like a river that never runs dry, as if I am standing at the very center of a storm, a tempest that rages within me.

The thought of what I could be capable of is both exhilarating and terrifying. It is as if I am standing on the edge of a cliff, my toes curling over the edge, staring down into the abyss below.

But instead of fear, I feel a sense of longing, an urge to jump and see just how far I can soar.

Concern for impurities weighs heavily on my mind, a nagging worry that nags at the edges of my consciousness.

Despite the wild abandon with which I used invigoration and my recent breakthrough, there have been no telltale signs of impurities, though they should have surfaced by now.

Immersing myself in the contents of the book, I have come to realize that all humans bear a burden of impurities, unlike the elves who are untainted by such flaws infact the only ones who lack impurities are the elves, and even beasts have impurities, but it's there for protection not to harm them.

The book painted a vivid picture of the delicate and elusive nature of elf Awakening. It explained how these magical beings, born with flawlessly pure bodies and the potential to live up to 1000 years, possess an uncanny affinity for all the elements that surpasses even the strength of their physical forms.

However, the book warned that the process of Awakening is fraught with danger, as the slightest impurities within an elf's body can cause a catastrophic explosion, like an overinflated balloon bursting with a deafening pop.

As I read this passage, I could almost see the elves' translucent blue cores pulsating with ethereal energy, and feel the tension and uncertainty that comes with the perilous path to Enlightenment.

Imagine living naturally for a thousand years, with each day brimming with endless possibilities and experiences waiting to be explored.

Would you not be tempted to grasp onto every moment and savor it like a fine wine, relishing in the richness of life's flavors?

Living for a millennium would grant you the gift of time, allowing you to see the world and its people evolve and grow in ways previously unimaginable.

Although their pure and delicate constitution may seem like an advantage, it is actually a double-edged sword. When faced with the intense energy surge of Awakening, their frail bodies are unable to withstand it, causing them to burst like an overinflated balloon.

As uncertainty creeps in, I begin to question my very nature.

While I lack the impurities of the elves, my body is uncommonly strong.

I can push my core to the limit and still withstand it with ease. But as I contemplate upon what I know of humans, I find that none of the signs point to me being one.

There are no records of beings like me, and even by this world's standards, it's difficult to imagine my existence.

The possibility of me being human fades, leaving only the unlikely explanation of my condition. As if captured in a photograph, the details of my doubts remain vividly etched in my mind.

I possess the unique ability to naturally cast magic without the need for incantations or nonsensical babbling, unlike the average human.

My mastery of spell weaving is rivalled only by that of true mages, and I take pride in my innate talent.

As if that weren't enough, under certain unknown and extraordinary circumstances - the likes of which are yet to be experienced - I may even possess an extended lifespan, much like the mythical elves of old.

The mere thought of this possibility sparks a flurry of questions and wonder within me, as I contemplate the bounds and limits of my own abilities.

Elves possess an innate magical ability that makes them true mages.

While not all true mages are awakened, it is said that all Awakened beings are true mages. However, the process of awakening is a rare occurrence, and thus elves are most likely not to awaken.

For those fortunate enough to become awakened elves, their lifespan can exceed 10,000 years.

But before they can attain this ultimate level of magical mastery, they must first prove their unwavering loyalty to the World Tree.

The World Tree is a sentient being that has the power to awaken its chroniclers safely to a violet core, the highest level of magical awakening.

Only those who have passed the Tree's test of devotion are granted this privilege.

As an awakened, I possess the rare ability to wield true magic.

True magic is a form of spellcasting that involves weaving runes with one's mind rather than relying on incantations or physical gestures.

This allows me to channel mana according to my imagination and willpower, with my mana core as the limit.

Through silent casting, I can enact spells without uttering a single word, making it a powerful tool in my arsenal.

To cast a spell, a mage must possess a deep understanding of their own Mana Core, the source of their magical power, and the intricate flow of mana within their body.

With this knowledge, they are then able to summon the correct amount of mana needed for any given spell.

However, manipulating mana is a delicate task, and even the slightest miscalculation can lead to disastrous consequences.

Too much mana can cause the spell to backfire, wreaking havoc upon the caster and their surroundings. On the other hand, too little mana can result in a failed attempt, leaving the mage vulnerable and defenseless.

To cast a successful spell, the mage must project their mana outwards, reaching out to the world energy by themselves.

As their mana mingles with the world's, it takes on a life of its own, twisting and weaving into the spell that the caster desires. It is a beautiful and intricate dance, with each movement carefully choreographed by the mage's willpower and imagination.

The result is a breathtaking display of magic, a manifestation of the caster's very soul.

Those who have achieved enlightenment have the ability to refine their physical form by removing any impurities that may be hindering both their mana flow and life force. This process allows them to obtain a physique that is strong enough to handle a new and more powerful mana core, which in turn increases their strength and abilities exponentially.

However, the journey towards a stronger physical form is not an easy one, especially for those who start with a stronger mana core while weaker Mana core like the red or yellow have it easy.

As the mana core grows stronger, so do the risks associated with refining the body. It requires a great deal of discipline, patience, and perseverance to endure the challenges that come with this journey.

Imagine a person standing under a waterfall, the rushing water representing the impurities that must be overcome.

It takes time and effort to withstand the force of the water, but eventually the impurities are washed away, leaving the person stronger and more resilient than before.

This same principle applies to those who seek to refine their physical form, as they must overcome obstacles and challenges in order to achieve their desired level of strength.
