Chapter 15 - Veiled Mysteries and Unparalleled Talent

Elyon's POV

All things considered, it appears that I have the upper hand.

However, I do have some reservations about the fraudulent awakened ones.

Their presence could potentially complicate matters when I utilize "that" to achieve my goals.

Life can be quite unpredictable, as if it were a wild rollercoaster ride full of twists and turns. Just when I thought I had solved one of my problems, another hurdle emerged.

Though I have taken precautions, the fakes may still be wary of me, and my recent success may attract unwanted attention from all the parties involved in this affair.

But I am hopeful that my background will provide me with the resilience and resourcefulness to overcome any challenge that comes my way.

The fake awakened are the unfortunate ones left in the shadows, shunned by both their makers and the ruling council.

These individuals, who have been given only a partial awakening, are viewed as a threat to society, their powers unpredictable and dangerous.

Abandoned by the so-called guardians who refuse to fully awaken them, they are left to navigate the world alone, with no understanding of the true extent of their abilities. The council, fearing the unknown, detests their very existence, branding them as outcasts and anomalies.

However, it is not the fake awakened that one should fear. Instead, it is the guardians themselves and their fully awakened counterparts who demand caution.

The awakened are shrouded in mystery, their true motives and loyalties unknown. As for the guardians, their power is both magnificent and terrifying, able to manipulate the very fabric of reality.

They have been illustrated as fearsome...no more like deities.

No general information or clues could be found in Marduk's book that would lead me to uncover the enigmatic group's whereabouts. Although historical myths mentioned their existence, their description was shrouded in mystery, their details jumbled and difficult to interpret.

The library was silent on this matter, leaving me to ponder their existence in frustration. With each passing moment, the mystery of their identity deepened, as if they were a figment of my imagination. It was like staring into the abyss, with nothing but vague outlines in my mind.

Elusive and enigmatic, their existence remains shrouded in mystery.

Even Marduk's book, long revered as a fount of knowledge, can only offer puzzling hints at their involvement.

It's as if any clue that might lead to their discovery has been deliberately scattered, leading only to further confusion.

One can almost imagine the trail of breadcrumbs disappearing into the mist, leaving me to wonder if they were ever really there at all.

An air of mystery shrouds their existence, one that remains unverified to this day. Yet, according to an ancient tome, they were once regarded with awe and veneration, not as mere mortals, but fervently worshipped like deities.

As I read those words, I couldn't help but conjure images of ethereal beings, cloaked in iridescent light, their presence commanding reverence from all who laid eyes upon them.

It preaches how their influence was omnipresent, with shrines and temples erected in their honor across all lands.

The hushed whispers of devotees reverberated within the sacred halls, offering praise to the benevolent gods who graced them with their blessings and teachings.

Alas, the reason for their departure from mortal realms remains a mystery, shrouded in the mists of time.

Forgotten by the ebbs and flows of the river of time, their legacy endures only in the pages of history, a testament to the unbridled devotion they once commanded.

After three long years had passed, Elyon had finally reached the age of six.

Despite his youth, he exuded a stunning radiance and handsome charm that belied his tender years.

His features had not changed much, but they had grown more refined with time. His short, silver hair glinted in the sunlight, and his shining golden eyes seemed to hold a mysterious otherworldly quality that left others transfixed.

Over the course of three years, numerous instructors arrived at Elyon's doorstep, eager to impart their professional knowledge.

Each one arrived with a sense of purpose and a glimmer of hope, only to leave shattered and humbled.

Elyon was a difficult student to teach, with an insatiable thirst for knowledge and an unyielding desire for perfection.

His sharp intellect and unrelenting drive pushed each instructor to their limits, testing their patience and their resolve. Despite their best efforts, each one was forced to concede defeat and retreat from the challenge that was Elyon. Yet, even as they left, they couldn't help but wonder at the brilliance that lay dormant within their enigmatic pupil.

Elyon's exceptional talent knew no bounds, leaving his instructors astounded and often flustered.

He possessed an unparalleled talent, excelling in areas of knowledge, physical prowess, and magical aptitude, all of which he effortlessly displayed.

His remarkable feats led to him being hailed as the kingdom's greatest genius, leaving no doubt in anyone's mind about his extraordinary abilities.

It is truly remarkable that Elyon was able to achieve such a prestigious title at such a young age.

However, it is not surprising given his unparalleled ability to cast magic silently, a feat that no other human in the kingdom has been able to achieve.

Even the kingdom's most skilled mages are hesitant to boast of such a skill, recognizing the rarity and mastery required to accomplish it. Elyon's talent is truly one-of-a-kind and sets him apart from all others.

Indeed, Elyon's feat caused a huge wave of uproar throughout the kingdom.

The news spread like wildfire, and people from all corners of the land marveled at the young prodigy's incredible abilities.

It was an unprecedented achievement, something that had never been seen before in the kingdom. However, as quickly as the uproar had begun, it was silenced.

The kingdom's leaders, recognizing the immense power that Elyon possessed, made sure that the news did not spread any further. They did not want any outside forces to know of the kingdom's greatest prodigy, for fear that they might try to use him for their own ends.

It was a move that some criticized as being short-sighted, but it was one that the kingdom's rulers deemed necessary to protect their greatest asset.

The kingdom's leaders were far from foolish. How could they possibly risk handing over valuable information to their enemies, neighbors, or even potential traitors? They took every precaution to keep any knowledge about Elyon hidden away, determined to maintain their strategic advantage while appearing to act in the best interest of protection.

Power and politics are inextricably intertwined. Both exist within a realm of relative influence, where those with the most power can shape and control the political landscape to their advantage.

Powerful figures jockey for position, each seeking to gain an advantage over their rivals. Meanwhile, the masses below struggle to make their voices heard, to have a say in the direction of their society.

It's a dynamic, complex system, one that rewards those who can navigate its many twists and turns. Yet for all its challenges, there is also a certain beauty to be found in this world of power and politics.

Perhaps it's the sheer scope of it all, the sense of limitless potential that fills the air. Or maybe it's the knowledge that, with enough skill and cunning, anyone can rise to the top of this hierarchy, and wield their own brand of influence over the world.

Whatever the case may be, one thing is clear power and politics are a never-ending tale of ambition, rivalry, and conflict.
