Kagura was still waiting in line. In front of her were a lot of people her age or older but not many were younger. Some were holding unique machines some were boxes were light came from, noisy spinning things or hidden under a cape.
Of course there were different weapons to make cheaper or more acquirable. Some even had new designs. Then there were medicine, drugs or strength and speed boosting drinks. Few had pets like Kagura had.
The reason being how rare it was to get them, because you had to know about them before you got to the fifth realm. You would have to advance so much to go back in realms and then it would be a pain to make them strong so it would be faster to get one from this or third realm.
There were nothing new about them. Kagura could see how some of them were fake or suffering, but that wasn't her problem. She patiently waited for her turn. Because even if the line wasn't long there was still many people.
The fifth realm had the fourth most citizens, after the three lowest ones. The fourth and sixth realm could not be measured, people from the seventh would advance or die quickly. And most people stopped advancing on the fifth realm.
And the reason the three lowest realms don't feel so full was, that for those realms there were multiple planets. That's why there were beast people on the seventh realm, those did not live on the same planet as Kagura did.
She lived in a rather weird planet, night never came but in the north it was always cold and night. But the population was low and only humans. Some had high population of elves. Some had beast people or only monster. Yes, monsters too could advance, of course they could, why would pets be able to follow otherwise?
As Kagura was thinking about this the line had gotten a lot more smaller, some had returned with sad faces, some were angry or disappointed and some did not return. They probably passed the exam Kagura thought.
Ciara was still in deep sleep inside her robe. It was a lot better to sleep in because she changed it. Before it was pretty thick and white and covered her whole body. This new one was deep green with some silver decorations, it was great to have one clothe that can change color and shape.
As the amount of people with sad faces almost crying grew, meaning that the amount of people that the academy would let in was low. This meant, that they were a lot stricter on the people that they let in.
Kagura wasn't even the last on the line, there were almost as many people behind her as there had been in front. The line on the back looked the same as in the front. Lot of machines, some scrolls, some books, few pets, potions and so on.
The line also started to move quicker. The people presenting their inventions and topics to study started to panic because of the people leaving with sad expressions. The presentation was as important as the topic, it had to convince the judges. That's why Kagura had used three days to train Ciara, and definitely not because she was too bored and restless.
It was Kagura's turn before she even noticed. She walked inside the door. The doors were large made from some kind of brown metal. As she was walking towards the examination site, she started to wake Ciara up. The hallway was dark only lit up with small torches so it was not easy to wake her up.
Kagura didn't want to do this but she had to. She put her finger on Ciara's forehead and not a second later she woke up. She looked at Kagura angrily almost pouting.
"Sorry, it's the time for the exam."
Ciara just faced to the opposite direction, like she was not listening.
"Seems like someone doesn't want mana tonight."
Ciara immediately switched moods, and looked at Kagura like a puppy.
"Just behave."
Ciara nodded and went inside Kagura's robe again.
Soon she arrived at the bright stage at the end of the tunnel. She was not standing on a stony stage with a 180 view around her. There were a lot of seats in front of her but only five people were sitting there.
They were the judges. No one else was allowed to see the topic, because if it would be accepted, the academy didn't want anyone to steal the idea.
"What's your name?"
Asked an old lady. She had short grey hair and wearing a vanilla pullover.
"Kagura"
"What is the topic that you want to research?"
Asked the same lady.
"I've found an interesting monster, which I've also taken as a pet and would like to study it further."
"Do you have the pet on you?"
"Yes."
Kagura pulled Ciara out her robe. The judges were a little bit surprised, because indeed had not seen a monster like Ciara before. She landed on Kagura's shoulder.
"Do you know what kind of egg it came from."
"Yes, it was a small and pitch black."
The judges mumbled a little by themselves, after another person asked.
"What kind of magic does it use?"
This one was old looking like the woman. He had a long beard and glasses. He also wore a weird pointy hat, and like his robe it was green.
"I've seen it use sound magic."
"Can you show us?"
"Yes."
I turned towards Ciara and gave an order.
"Cast, sound wave."
I didn't specify how powerful, so Ciara went full power. She took a super deep breath and shot it towards the sun. Good, if it was shot towards anywhere else, it would have destroyed something. Ciara kept screaming for almost 10 seconds.
After she stopped, I patter her head and looked towards the judges. The younger looking ones still had their hands covering their ears but when they finally noticed, that the screaming had stopped and noticing everyone's staring. They put their hands down and looked down.
After that the woman asked another question.
"Why do you need to research this in our academy, why can't you do it on your own?"
"My knowledge in pet training isn't big so I need to learn it, I also don't know that much about monster skills either, so I have to study on my own for that."
She nodded. And they again started talking about themselves. I could listen to their conversation with my magic but decided not to. If they were good enough, they could easily notice.
"What does it eat?"
"My mana, insects but also small animals like baby mice."
He nodded and they again started their little conversation. It was quite boring, they asked questions and I just stood here answering. That's probably why those other people started panicking and failing.
"Miss Kagura, we have thought about this and as your pet is never seen before, born from an unusual egg and uses advanced magic, we will accept you as a researcher in this academy."
"Thank you."
I gave them a deep bow. After that, a door opened in front of me.
"When you step inside, that will be your room. It has a magic door to the library, cafe and training grounds. Those are the places you are allowed to be. More instructions are inside the room."
I then stepped inside my new room.
