Daegon conjured up an image of a middle-aged man.
"Who is that?" Akira asked.
It took a moment for Remus to recognise who the figure was. "Why did you turn into my father?" Remus asked.
"He is at the source of your repressed rage," Daegon said. "How was your relationship like?"
"It wasn't bad," Remus said.
"We don't have time for this nonsense so I'm going to speed up the process," Daegon said before throwing a dart at Remus's neck.
Poison Detected: Truth Serum! />
"What have you done?" Akira asked.
"What is in this?" Remus asked.
"That's a poison commonly known as truth serum," Daegon said. "If you lie, it will shut down your organs one by one until you die painfully in slow agony. The only way to stay alive for the next few hours is to tell the truth. The whole unvarnished truth and nothing but the truth."
"You've gone too far," Akira said. "There have to be other ways to do this safely. I should've listened to the other Masters when they said that you were crazy."
"It's too late for regrets now," Daegon said. "Now tell me, how was your relationship with your father?"
"He was a good man most of the time," Remus said.
"What about the rest of the time," Daegon asked. "What was he like to you?"
"He had an explosive temper," Remus said. "I failed a quiz in the fourth grade so he beat me until I was unconscious then told the doctors that I fell."
"Now we're getting somewhere," Daegon said. "Did you get revenge on him?"
"No, I said nothing," Remus said. "Once I graduated college, I stopped speaking to him."
"I see..." Daegon said. "On to the next."
Daegon then conjured a second figure of a middle-aged woman,
"Who is this?" Akira asked.
"It's my mother," Remus said.
"And what trauma did she inflict on you?" Daegon asked.
Remus stood silent.
All of a sudden he started screaming in pain and clutching his side. "What's happening? My side hurts," Remus said.
"Your liver has shut down," Daegon said. "You have to tell the truth, you can't stay silent."
Remus gritted his teeth and in between breaths, he continued to speak. "Sometimes... she would say nothing and just let my father beat me while other times she would stoke his anger."
"That sounds terrible," Akira said.
"I'm guessing you never confronted her either," Daegon said.
"I also stopped.. talking to her," Remus answered.
Daegon conjured another image of a figure. This time it was his new-found brother Gregory.
"On to the next," Daegon said. "Who is this person?"
"He's... my brother, Gregory," Remus said. "I bailed him out of a bad situation and instead of showing me loyalty, he bailed on me the first chance he got."
"Did you tell him how much he failed you?" Deagon asked.
"No," Remus said.
"Now, what is it that you would like to say to your father," Daegon said. "Be careful with your words or else the truth serum will shut down something else."
"I...Hate...You..." Remus said. As he spoke his left eye turned black.
"What is it that you would like to say to your mother?" Daegon asked.
"I...Despise...You..." Remus said. His right eye turned black.
"What is it that you would like to say to your brother, Gregory?" Daegon asked.
"Burn...in...hell," Remus said.
