When Elena enters Arlo's bedroom, she can't find him. She was about to call him, when Arlo embraced Elena from behind, his arms wrapping around her waist. He held her close, savoring the warmth and comfort of their connection. Elena got stiff again and said, "Why do you always find chances to hug me?"
Arlo smiled at her behavior and said, "My wife, your father has also accepted me as a son-in-law and I love you. Then why can't I hug you?"
Elena said with an angry look, "I still don't love you, so you can't hug me or touch me whenever you are pleased."
Arlo smiled evilly, "If you didn't want me to hug you then why don't you try to resist?"
Elena said, "You are much stronger than me. How can I resist?"
Arlo laughed and said, "Did you forget that you have just consumed the strengthened drugs and medicines?"
"We are equally strong. If you still think that you don't like it, then you can free yourself."
After hearing those words, she thought, "He is right. I am much stronger than before, but I can't make myself to resist him."
Elena turned around in Arlo's embrace, meeting his gaze with a gentle smile. "Alright, I'll confess that I have feelings for you.
But Arlo, you still have a lot to do in order to capture my heart."
Arlo locked eyes with Elena, his expression brimming with tenderness and love. "Elena, so you're acknowledging that you've begun to love me."
"Who said anything about me falling in love with you?"
"To me, both statements are the same."
"Let me go now."
"Alright, my future wife.", Arlo smiled while saying this.
"I have three things for you today. First, this Space ring.", he handed over a Space ring to Elena.
Elena curiously looked at it but didn't find anything special, so she asked him,"What is the use of this?"
He then explained,"You can use it to store your weapons, food, items and much more."
He then explained to her how to use it and then opened a panel in front of her from his wrist device and said, "Select any weapon you like and I will buy it for you."
After scrolling for a while, she chose a black laser pistol which cost 14000 Credit Points.
[Mini Black Laser Pistol costs: 14000]
[Do you want to confirm this purchase?]
"Yes, I want to."
[Credit points: 1295]
"It looks like we have to hunt more zombies today. My wife, you are really expensive.", Arlo complains to Elena.
"You were the one who said I will buy you any weapon you want?", Elena said in a mocking tone.
Arlo then stepped towards her and took her hand in his hands and gently placed a new wrist device on her hand."
Elena asked, "What is this?"
Arlo explained, "It is a device which has different functions... And then he explained to her everything about it."
"It has so many functions.", Elena said with a surprise look.
Arlo chuckled at Elena's astonished expression. "Yes, it's a versatile device. Consider it an upgrade to your abilities. It has a built-in GPS, communication system, health monitor, and even a holographic interface."
Elena turned on her wrist, examining the sleek design of the new device. "This is incredible, Arlo. Thank you."
"You deserve the best, my love," he replied, his voice filled with affection. "Now, let's continue our journey together."
With a mental command, Arlo activates the teleportation function, instantly transporting both of them to the original world.
Outside, the world had transformed into a desolate landscape. Broken buildings and abandoned streets stretched out before them, a haunting reminder of the devastation caused by the zombies. The once-bustling city now lay in ruins, a ghostly shell of its former self.
In the middle of the city near to the building which had become debris now, Arlo and Elena appeared there. When Elena saw the condition of her surroundings, a shudder of horror coursed through her and she asked, "Arlo, this is the place where you were yesterday?".
Arlo with a grave expression, affirmed her question with a solemn nod.
Overwhelmed by the desolation, Elena whispered, "I can scarcely fathom what you've endured. This place is nothing short of ruins now."
"That's why we need to become much stronger as soon as possible, and for that we need more credit points. Kill as many zombies as possible today. We need more points."
Elena nodded in agreement, her resolve unwavering. "Understood."
"Elena, we must escape immediately. If that bolt is still present, our fate is sealed. We cannot face him at this moment. Eliminating him will require time."
Arlo swiftly turned and fled in the opposite direction of the factory warehouse, with Elena by his side. Thanks to their enhanced abilities, they covered several kilometers within mere minutes, increasing the distance between them and their pursuer.
On their way, they encounter so many zombies. Many were killed by Arlo and some were killed by Elena, but they tried to avoid as many as possible for sometime. Both of them come to a halt when they encounter a group of zombies which have surrounded a restaurant. The group has at least 60 to 70 zombies.
For a normal human being, this number of zombies is something out of their ability to confront. But for them it is nothing.
Arlo said with a smile, "My love, all of them are yours."
Elena took a deep breath, steeling herself for the upcoming confrontation. The horde of zombies surrounded the restaurant, their decayed faces and outstretched arms a chilling sight. She glanced at Arlo, who stood a few paces behind her, watching her with unwavering confidence. This was her chance to prove herself, to demonstrate her newfound strength.
With a determined look on her face, Elena drew her newly acquired black laser pistol from the Space ring. Gripping it tightly, she activated the weapon and felt a surge of power course through her. The eerie glow of the laser emanated from the pistol's barrel, casting an otherworldly light on her features.
Arlo observed her every move, his eyes filled with pride and admiration. He knew she could handle this. He believed in her abilities, just as he believed in their love.
Taking her first step forward, Elena focused her energy, channeling her enhanced strength and agility. The zombies, sensing the presence of fresh prey, began to converge on her, their moans and groans filling the air.
Elena's movements were a blur as she swiftly dodged the grasping hands and lunging bodies of the zombies. Her senses were heightened, allowing her to anticipate their attacks and react with lightning-fast reflexes. With each shot from her laser pistol, a zombie would fall, disintegrating into ashes.
Arlo watched in awe as Elena's powers unfolded before him. She moved with a grace and precision that seemed almost supernatural. Her shots were accurate, finding their targets with deadly precision.
After a few moments later, all the zombies were dead, and Elena was standing there without a single scratch.
Arlo said with a wide smile, "Well done my love."
Elena turned to see Arlo with a disgusting look and complained, "Why didn't you tell me anything about this?", She gestured towards her stained clothing, now drenched in black blood.
Arlo couldn't help but smile at her innocence and responded, "You should have considered that when engaging in zombie-killing, it's inevitable to get covered in their blood."
"Now stop complaining about it. Let's have a look at the survivors in the restaurant."
As Arlo and Elena approached the restaurant, they noticed the survivors huddled together, their faces filled with fear and despair. Among them their was a group in a black uniform with an old man named James, who seemed to be their leader. He was visibly exhausted, his wrinkled face etched with worry.
Elena stepped forward, her voice filled with compassion. "Is everyone all right? We're here to help."
James looked up, his eyes reflecting a glimmer of hope. "Who are you? And how can you help us?"
Arlo spoke with confidence, his presence commanding attention. "We're survivors just like you, and we have the means to navigate through this chaos. My name is Arlo, and this is Elena. We've come across your path in our search for a person."
Arlo lied about his purpose because he is not allowed to reavel anything related to his Space Realm.
James nodded, his expression relieved. "I'm grateful you've found us. Now you have killed all those zombies we can leave this place."
Elena inquired about their plans and James said, "My daughter, Luna, and her employees are trapped in the Silkwood office building. It's on the topmost floor, and the situation there is dire. We were trying to find a way to rescue them when we got cornered by this zombie horde."
Elena's eyes widened at the mention of the Silkwood office building. "Silkwood Entertainment? That's where my father used to work. I know the building well."
"So how are you going to save them your group is already this injured and you will find a few thousand zombies on your way."
Arlo exchanged a glance with Elena, a silent understanding passing between them. "Mr. James you should stay here with your group and we will bring her here."
James thought about their suggestion and ask, "Why you want to save my daughter?"
Arlo's voice softened as he spoke, his eyes filled with empathy. "We know the pain of losing loved ones in this world. We understand the desperation and fear that comes with it. We want to help reunite families, to bring hope in these dark times. Your daughter deserves a chance to survive and be with her father again."
James looked at Arlo and Elena, sensing the sincerity in their words. After a moment of contemplation, he nodded. "I trust you. Please, bring my daughter back to me."
With a determined nod, Elena turned to Arlo. "We'll find a way to rescue her."
A few kilometers away from them in the Silkwood office building, a man scouting his surrounding building with a binocular to see anyone from the military or a person who he can communicate with to give them some information about the outside world. While the man is scouting from the glass window, a man approaches him to inquire about the situation.
He said, "Sam, did you see anyone in the vicinity?"
The scouting man said, "Manager John, I only saw a few couple of people running away from a group of zombies and a few people hiding in the buildings and no one from the military."
John said, "Keep watching, and if you find anyone from the military then communicate with them."
Sam said, "Understood Sir."
