Chapter 29 - CHAPTER 29: BANDITS WISH

Drawing her courage, Luna stood tall, defiance etched on her face. "We won't go with you," she declared, her voice laced with determination. "I would prefer to kill myself rather than go with you."

The bandit leader let out a deep, throaty laugh that echoed through the warehouse. "Oh, my dear, you don't understand," he sneered. "Resistance is futile. Edward, capture her.", the leader ordered one of his men.

Luna swept her gaze through all the people in the front, but no one emerged from them, but before she could figure it out, a man from behind her caught her. And her companion's also got caught by some people.

Fear coursed through Luna's veins as she struggled against the firm grip of the bandit who had captured her. She fought with all her strength, thrashing and kicking, but his hold on her remained unyielding. Luna's mind raced, searching for a way to escape this dire situation.

She glanced over at her companions, who were also held captive by the other bandits. The air was thick with tension as they stood in a makeshift circle, surrounded by their ruthless captors. Luna's heart sank as she saw the fear and uncertainty etched on their faces.

The bandit leader approached Luna with a twisted grin, his eyes gleaming with sadistic pleasure. "Oh, my dear, you certainly have spirit," he taunted. "But I assure you, resistance will only make things worse for you and your friends."

Luna met his gaze with defiance, refusing to let fear overpower her. "Let me go.", she declared, her voice steady despite the racing of her heart.

Luna's defiant words hung in the air, ordering the leader. His eyes narrowed, a mix of amusement and irritation crossing his face. He took her hand in his hand and tightened his grip on Luna's arm, his fingers digging into her flesh, trying to exert dominance over her.

"You're a feisty one, I'll give you that," he sneered. "But you'll soon learn that resistance comes at a price."

Luna screamed in pain. She looked in the eyes of the bandit leader, her gaze unwavering. She declared, her voice carrying a steely resolve. "If you want me, you'll have to kill me."

The bandit leader's expression darkened at Luna's resistance, his grip tightening even further. He raised his other hand, ready to teach her a lesson, but before he could make a move, a sudden commotion erupted from behind him.

A man came in from the main gate of the warehouse and said, "Don't you think that a women should not be treated like that. Ohh, sorry i forgot that you guys are not humans. But are monsters.

The warehouse fell silent as the mysterious man made his entrance, his voice filled with contempt for the bandit leader. His confident demeanor and piercing gaze made bandits doubt him.

The bandit leader turned his attention to Arlo, a mix of surprise and anger evident on his face. "And who the hell are you?" he spat, releasing his grip on Luna.

Arlo took a step forward, his eyes never leaving the bandit leader. "My name is Arlo," he declared with unwavering confidence. "And I won't stand by and watch innocent people being treated like that."

As Luna witnessed Arlo bravely confront the leader of the bandits, her heart filled with appreciation. However, concern prompted her to shout, "Arlo, you should flee! They're armed with guns, can't you see?"

Arlo smiled reassuringly and replied, "Don't worry, I'll be fine. Nothing will happen to me."

The bandit leader scoffed, his arrogance still intact. "You think you can stop us? You're just one man against my entire crew," he sneered.

Arlo's gaze remained steady, his voice filled with conviction. "I may be one man, but I have something you lack: strength", he retorted. "I won't let you harm these people any longer."

Luna observed the tension in the air as the bandit leader and Arlo locked eyes. The atmosphere crackled with anticipation, the fate of Luna and her companions hanging in the balance. She couldn't help but admire Arlo's bravery and determination, even as the odds seemed stacked against him.

As Arlo stood firm, facing off against the bandit leader, a sense of anticipation hung in the air. Luna and her companions watched in awe when Arlo launched into action. He lunged toward the nearest bandit, his movements graceful and precise. A sword appeared in his hands, and he started to deliver a series of devastating blows. The bandits tried to fire their guns, but to their shock, the bullets didn't penetrate Arlo's impenetrable armor.

Luna and her companions stared in amazement as Arlo single-handedly incapacitated the bandits, taking them down one by one. The sound of bullets ricocheting off his invisible armor filled the warehouse, creating an aura of invincibility around him. It was a sight that seemed almost supernatural.

Arlo's movements were a blur of speed and precision as he engaged the bandits. With each swing of his sword, he struck down his adversaries, his strikes finding their mark with deadly accuracy. The bandits' guns were ineffective against him.

Luna and her companions watched in awe and disbelief as Arlo single-handedly took on the bandits, his unwavering determination evident in every move. The warehouse filled with the clash of metal against metal, the sound of gunfire, and the pained cries of the bandits.

The bandit leader's confidence began to waver as he witnessed the sheer power and skill displayed by Arlo. Realizing that his men were falling one by one, he shouted, "Focus your fire on him! Bring him down!"

The remaining bandits, their faces etched with fear and desperation, obeyed their leader's command. They aimed their guns at Arlo, their fingers tightening around the triggers. Bullets flew through the air, filling the warehouse with a cacophony of deafening gunfire.

Arlo's armor absorbed the impact of the bullets, but the force of the shots pushed him back, momentarily disrupting his assault.

As Arlo's assault continued, the surviving bandits grew increasingly desperate. Their leader, realizing that he was outmatched, sought a way to escape from this seemingly unbeatable opponent. With a trembling voice, he bellowed, "Stop, right there, or my men will kill them!" He pointed at his subordinates, who still held Luna and her companions hostage, their fear palpable.

Arlo paused for a moment, his gaze shifting between the bandit leader and the captives. He knew that their lives hung in the balance, but he couldn't let the bandit leader escape to cause harm another day. His mind raced, searching for a solution that would ensure both the safety of Luna and her companions and the capture of the bandit leader.

Arlo's mind raced as he searched for a solution to the dire situation they found themselves in. With the bandit leader holding Luna and her companions hostage, he needed a plan that would ensure their safety while neutralizing the threat. He tapped on his wrist device, activating his communication interface, and sent a message directly to Elena, who was hiding nearby.

"Elena, listen carefully," Arlo transmitted his thoughts. "I need you to attack from behind. Take out the bandits holding Luna and the others hostage. Be swift and precise."

Elena, acknowledged the message. She crept closer to the scene, her presence masked by the shadows of the warehouse.

As the bandit leader gloated, believing he held the upper hand, a sudden gunshot resonated through the air. The laser bullet pierced through the skull of one of the bandits holding Luna, instantly killing him. Panic ensued among the remaining captors as they turned to face the new threat.

Elena emerged from the darkness, her eyes focused and her aim unwavering. With remarkable precision, she dispatched the remaining bandits one by one, delivering swift and lethal shots. The air filled with the sound of gunfire and the cries of the fallen.

Luna and her companions, stunned by the sudden turn of events, found themselves free from their captors' grasp. Their eyes widened in disbelief as they witnessed Elena's skillful display of marksmanship.

Elena is able to kill those people with such marksmanship because she has consumed drugs and medicine, which also increases the mental strength of the user, which helps him in various things like resolve and determination to survive and accuracy in shooting, and also to strengthen the spirit to kill. If a normal person wants to kill someone, it will be very hard for him for his first time. But it was very easy for her due to the strengthening process.

With the immediate danger neutralized, Arlo seized the opportunity to confront the bandit leader. He closed the distance between them, his sword glinting in the dim light of the warehouse.

The bandit leader, cornered and desperate, attempted to defend himself. He swung his weapon with reckless abandon, but Arlo deflected it with calculated precision.

Arlo's strength and skill overpowered the will of the bandit leader. He then bent on his keens looking at the ground.

Arlo gazed down at the bandit leader, who was now kneeling before him. Arlo's expression hardened. He spoke with a firm voice, conveying both authority and a warning.

"You and your gang have caused enough chaos and suffering," Arlo declared, his words resonating with conviction. "This ends here."

He swung his sword and killed him. He then turned around and went to the side where Elena was standing and hugged her, to relax. And Elena complained, "Hey, they are watching us, leave me." Arlo smiled and said, "Okay, my love.".

Arlo and Elena took a step back, their eyes still fixed on the lifeless body of the bandit leader. The warehouse fell silent, the echoes of the violent encounter slowly dissipating into the air. Luna and her companions cautiously approached, their expressions a mix of awe and relief.

"Thank you," Luna said, her voice filled with gratitude. "You saved our lives. We owe you more than words can express."

Arlo nodded, his gaze turning towards the others. "We couldn't stand by and let them harm innocent people. It's what we do."

Elena, her demeanor composed, added, "We couldn't have done it without each other. Our partnership is what makes us strong."

Luna's companions, still recovering from the shock, introduced themselves one by one.

Luna said, "My name is Luna, I used to be the CEO of Silkwood Entertainments. Allow me to introduce Emilia, my secretary." Luna gestured towards the man standing beside her. "And this is John." She pointed at the man wearing a crisp white shirt.

Andrus stepped forward and confidently introduced himself, saying, "I'm Andrus, and she is my secretary, Soniya."

Arlo nodded in acknowledgment as Luna's companions introduced themselves. He observed their expressions, noting the mixture of relief and lingering tension in the air. Despite the danger they had just faced, a sense of unity had formed among the group.

Taking a deep breath, Luna turned to Arlo and posed the question, "Who are you, and how did you do that? Even their bullets couldn't harm you."

Arlo smiled and replied, "We've both come here to rescue you. Your father requested me with the task of bringing you back safely to him."

"So, you work for my father?" Luna inquired.

"I don't work for your father," Arlo clarified. "We crossed paths with him by chance and saved him. He then requested that I ensure your safety and that of your colleagues."

Upon hearing this, Luna felt a tinge of disappointment. She had hoped that her father would be her key to learning more about this person. How could she refuse the support of a man capable of withstanding gunfire?

If it were possible, she wanted him by her side.

Andrus couldn't help but ask further, asking Arlo, "Mr. Arlo, you still haven't told us how you managed to do all of that."

Arlo met his gaze and replied, "It's a long story. I'll share it with you all later."

They understood that he had no intention of revealing about his powers.

"You must all be exhausted. Let's rest in this warehouse tonight and depart tomorrow."

Luna protested, "We should leave now. I want to see my dad." It wasn't just the desire of her to reunite with her father but also the yearning to uncover more about this mysterious man, Arlo.

Arlo's expression turned serious as he explained, "Zombies grow stronger at night. While Elena and I can protect ourselves, but we can't protect you all in the same time. Staying here until morning is the best course of action."

John inquired, "How do you know that?"

"It's simple. Spend a few days outside, and you'll learn," Arlo replied.

"This warehouse has some rooms. Elena and I will keep watching tonight. You can all sleep without worry."

"We will secure this area and ensure our safety." With those words, Arlo headed toward the warehouse's main gate, where a guard-post had been set up. Elena followed him.

As Arlo and Elena departed, Luna and her companions began discussing the day's events.

John asked Luna, "Do you know him?"

Luna shook her head. "No, I don't."

Andrus said, "I'm still curious about how he managed to deflect those bullets."

Emilia added, "We're all curious, but didn't you notice he has no intentions to share anything about his powers?"

Luna proposed a plan, saying, "We need to find a way to learn more about him and his power source. Any ideas, guys?"

John smirked and responded, "Well, if you all want to know more about him, just become his girlfriend. That beautiful woman with him could give you an example."

Luna chuckled. "We'll think about it tomorrow. For now, let's rest."
