Evangeline Marino:
"You may now say vows and exchange rings," the priest stutters out, as he shakes in fear as he stares at my husband. I turned my attention back to my soon to be husband and give him a small smile.
Placing the ring around my finger he says, "I haven't prepared much today, but I want you to know this. I love you and only you. I will burn this world down and have everyone at your feet if you shall request it. I will protect you with every fiber in my very being, my very life. I love you"
I am not crying at this point and I am so glad my maid of honor made me wear waterproof makeup. I sniffle and chuckle out. I am a crying mess. Placing my head on his chest, I feel his arms wrap around me as he coos, telling me that it'll be ok. I pulled back, and he brought his thumb up to my face. It sweeps over my face and and gently wipes my tears away. Breathing out, I wipe the remaining few tears from my face and take a step back.
Letting out one final breath, I start my vows and hope that I don't start crying in the middle of it. "We definitely hadn't had the easiest start, but I choose you and I will always choose you. Again and again, from start to finish. Every single day; from now and forever, no matter what. I will choose you to struggle, to fight, to grow, to succeed, to love. I choose you to be by my side forever." I finish and slip the golden band around his finger, securing my vow.
"With this, by the power invest in me, you may now k-," the priest didn't get to finish before my husband pulls me in and crashes his lips against mine.
Just then, I hear the doors of the church slam one and a gun shot go off. People are now screaming and the last thing I see before I blackout is my husband and his men pulling their guns out and shooting.
