For some reason, seeing Kayla reminded her of the past where she dared to smile happily. When she dared to fall for Derek. When she did things that ordinary couples did, made jokes and kissed sweetly.
There were kisses that made her flustered, kisses that made her heart weak and kisses that made her feel she was truly loved even though she had felt they weren't hers.
Now, all that seemed to be a blissful dream.
She couldn't help but smile at the thought of them going to watch a movie amidst the sea of other ordinary people, feeling shy and embarrassed and exchanging meaningful stares.
They were nice feelings but she knew she couldn't go back to that. Compared to how she was in the past, she was much more stronger and no longer simpleminded as she used to be.
