Damian stopped having dreams a long time ago.
In fact, to him, his dreams were mere self-conscious recollection of what had happened in the past and nothing more. And his past, none of it was pleasant.
He was the only exception as every other creature dreamt of not only what had happened in their past but that which they hope to come. If they were sad, they'd live in their dream which was filled with happiness till they woke up and reality struck them that it was all but a dream.
Why wasn't he allowed to dream? Why was he the only one that had to wallow in the dark both in reality and in the Dreamworld?
It was as if the universe was telling him that there was no light for him and all was darkness, he shouldn't hope for light.
It would all be worthless and just make him hurt more than he already was.
But he did have a pleasant and happy dream once and thanks to that, he was able to confirm that it was indeed useless to dream.
