Edward took out a little box and handed it over to Susan.
"I know it's a bit early but I wanted to be the first one to hand you a birthday present this year." He said. "Your mother beat me to it last year but this time, I'm number one."
Susan looked at the box. It looked like a shoe box but she wasn't going to open it yet.
"Thanks Dad!" She smiled. "You're the best!" Hearing this, Edwards ego rose.
"Don't say that, it's..."
"But sadly," Susan interrupted. "...you're not the first or number one." This broke Edward but he still held up his smile.
"There's no problem being number two either."
"Yeah, you're not number two either. Or number three or number four." She counted her fingers.
"Wait, what number am I?"
"You're number seventeen!" She proclaimed with an innocent smile and he snapped.
