Susan took a good look at the bracelet. It was silver, pretty and... Authentic?
"So you're saying this is an artifact?" She asked, looking up to meet Molly's gaze.
"Correct!"
"And what does it do?"
"That," pointing at the bracelet. "...is a compel blocker!"
"A what?"
"A compel blocker. If a vampire tries to compel you, it blocks out that voice from getting to your head." She explained and smiled. "It kinda makes you immune to their compelling voice."
Susan stared in surprise. So there was such a thing. It was no wonder Derek failed to compel her. She had the bracelet on at that time so.... Wait! Was it really just a coincidence that she had the bracelet on at the time when she was attacked?
What if it was planned to avoid her from getting compelled? What if the actual motive was to make her discover the existence of vampires? She needed to find out and in order to do that, she had to ask her mom.
