Marcel felt compelled to ask how Susan was doing since she too was among those tight friends that kept her in the dark and also, her heart felt it was the right thing to do yet her mind kept warning her against it.
It wasn't such a good idea to bring up last night's topic as it may open up healing wounds for Susan.
But as much as bringing up the topic would hurt, it would also be a source of relief to talk about it. That was how she felt and her feelings were never wrong.
"Are you okay?" She suddenly asked and Susan looked up, staring at her in confusion. "I mean," she dropped her elbow on the table and rested her chin lazily on her palm. "...how are you?" She asked and Susan immediately understood where the question was coming from.
"Oh!" She exclaimed and dropped her lathe on the table. She folded her arms on the table, quietly cleared her throat and lightly shook her head.
"I'll be fine!" She said and smiled.
