Chapter 78 - Golden Approval

Alice read the words on the board carefully and tilted her head letting them sink in to understand what was happening with the chattering starting to pick up immensely in the classroom. Excitement welled up in her body, grateful that she got a chance to pace for her day.

It was a group project as Claudia, and the notes that they tossed back and forth to each other were sitting happily in her lap. She wondered how Claudia got the information before it was formally announced, but she guessed that the information must have leaked through a mundane mistake.

The project was certainly on the down low since she didn't hear about it until only a few moments prior, so the news had to be going around the academy at rapid speeds at the interesting plot that the dean had cast forth.

The project went along the lines of gathering and analyzing data from questions posed to the first years at the academy. The criteria list for the specifications to get graded seemed simple enough, and it was definitely something fun to change or pass to the classes.

At the bottom of the instructions for the project pitch, there were some words from the dean saying how he wanted to gather information as to how their experience was going and various questions that upperclassmen were able to freely voice.

Alice nodded her head knowing that this was something that Mr. Beckham would do since it was up his alley with getting student participation. It made sense for the upperclassmen to reach out to their younger counterparts as well as it was the easiest way to get news across.

Mr. Beckham was certainly trying his best to improve the academics and engagement at the school. Alice smiled at the thought. Now, that was what she called dedication to doing their job.

The door slid open with a crash since the force was a bit too strong making the white wooden door push into the divot in the wall harshly. One that the door has taken damage to many times, and it mostly came from the same person in question.

Mr. Baird turned his attention over to Noah who was making quite the entrance and pushed his grey wired frames up his face as he looked down upon the student and shook his head while tapping his pencil down on the desk impatiently.

Noah had his briefcase draped around his shoulders relaxed per usual, and he gave an easy smile at the teacher. It was stupid how most people saw Noah with a golden halo around his face, and Alice rolled her eyes at how flashy he was being.

"Hello, teach. I'm sure that you got the call from Mrs. Rivas earlier, right?"

"I did," Mr. Baird grumbled. "Take your seat, Park."

"Of course," Noah said as he placed a blue paper pass down on the desk that the teacher didn't even bother to look at before tossing it into the trash bin by his desk that was a messy lair that contained his laptop and joyous letters from students likely complaining about not getting the correct guidance from him.

Noah took his time to meander down the aisles to take a seat at the empty desk in front of her, and he lifted his hand up to the guys in the back. Alice moved her water bottle and pencil case out of the way so that he could lean over which he did in a matter of a few seconds.

He was unpredictable, but in some ways, she was able to figure out his habitual actions that went along with his personality. He leaned over her desk with a raised eyebrow. "Why are you so upset?"

Alice sighed. "Don't even bother. Show me your arm."

Noah put out his left arm which had a white wrapping around it with a small thick bandage padding in the center of where the glass had cut him. Claudia leaned over with a frown. "What happened?'

"Just a minor cut," Noah replied.

Alice patted his arm carefully, and he retracted back to cross his arms. She pressed her lips together, unconvinced. "Are you sure? What even happened?"

"Tyler accidentally dropped the beaker, and I tried to catch it. Unfortunately, it hit the corner of the table first before shattering onto my hand."

"Are you insane?" Alice pinched the bridge of her nose wanting to say for him to act first before doing, but it seemed as though he did, and this was the end result. However, it looked like he wasn't in too much pain, so she would just leave it at that instead of grilling him having to take what was good instead of what was bad.

"Noah. Turn around," Mr. Baird barked.

Noah gave her a laughing expression which she lightly snickered at knowing that it brought him so much joy to get on the teacher's nerves before he turned back around to face the front.

Alice leaned over to the side since Noah's tall frame was in the way to get a better view of what was to come with the project that was graded only with participation points which was a win-win in her book, knowing that she would be able to bring up her grades without doing too much work.
