Nayeli did quick work on her nail design, and she finished faster than Alice had expected by adding the charms while Alice got lost catching up on her novel that she picked up inspired by Noah.
It was a nice thriller novel that kept her on her toes, and she was smart to purchase the novel online versus carrying a heavy book along with her. She didn't mind carrying a book with her, but she was more of a purse person rather than a backpack person which Claudia could attest to because she was the same.
Alice flipped the page over and cringed when she read how one of the characters got killed off. She would have to rant her thoughts to Noah later if she remembered, but she would have to keep her novel on the downlow and to herself since she actually did really like it.
It was funny to her because Alice liked to talk about mundane topics to Noah unlike what she would normally do back way then when she would randomly talk with guys along the lines of chitter chatter.
On her other hand, Alice would shift over whenever one was done as Nayeli worked, and then a shiny top coat before Alice placed her hand into the drying lamp for the last cure.
Nayeli leaned back in her seat with a long sigh. "And we're done."
Alice pulled out her hand after the light turned off inspected them happily and wiggled her fingers. They were so cute and exactly what she had wanted. Alice told Nayeli so, making Nayeli grin. She was tired, but Alice knew that Nayeli must be even more tired than her. Alice placed her chin down on the palm of her hand.
"Thank you for being so patient with me," Alice said.
"Any time," Nayeli smiled. "I'll watch as the young ones figure out their life."
Alice laughed. "Yes, yes. Be sure to cheer me on."
Claudia was finished with nails for a little time which did make sense since her nail design was similar, so she was sitting in the back waiting for Alice to be done until Alice waved her over.
Claudia walked over to where Alice and Nayeli were. Alice stepped a bit to the side, and Claudia wrapped an arm around Alice's waist as she stepped into that opening. "Hi, Nayeli. How are you?"
Nayeli smiled. "I'm doing well. Let me see your nails."
Claudia stuck out her nails, and Alice oohed while Nayeli ahhed at the pretty design of Claudia's nails that was a coffin shape with some length.
The design was very much Claudia with the French tips and the cute flowers on each ring finger in the pastel colors that were her in a nutshell. She put her nails on her outfit before making Alice do the same.
"Our nails match our outfit today well," Claudia said.
Alice grinned. "Very aesthetic and versatile."
Claudia looped her arm through Alice's before tipping down her head. "Sorry to say, but Alice and I have lots to do today."
Nayeli waved her off. "Go on girls. Have your fun."
They waved to Nayeli as they weaved their way through the salon and did the same to Jayla at the reception desk before pushing the door out making the bells ring once more for their departure.
The fresh breeze met Alice, and she took in a deep breath as the bright sun threatened to make her blind for a moment her eyes adjusted to the lighting with black spots across her vision.
"I forgot to bring sunglasses," Alice said as she brought a hand to shield her eyes.
"We should be fine since we'll be indoors for the rest of the day," Claudia added. "To the shopping mall, we go!"
Alice grinned as they got to the car, and Alice hopped into her seat and buckled in. "The drive to the mall is always one of my favorites."
Claudia strapped in. "It's one of your favorites because you have never driven there before."
Alice shrugged as they set off. "True."
The thing about Claudia was that she was also an anxious driver which would more often than not put stress on Alice. Alice loved Claudia with all her life, but she would be lying if she said she wasn't gripping onto the handle above the window for dear life as they rounded a corner that Claudia sped up on with the pumping music in the background raising her heart counter.
The drive to the shopping districts was a cool drive due to all the bridges that crossed over one another like a shot in a dystopian movie since the architecture was always so interesting to see.
However, driving across the bridges was another factor, and the last factor that put the nail into the coffin was that Claudia was right next to her. She swore the last time they went wasn't as bad as this, but maybe her memory has tucked it away since it was too traumatizing.
Alice reached for Claudia's arm for strength as they pulled into the parking lot of the shopping mall winded and out of breath from the long journey that had just embarked upon and finally reached their destination.
Alice needed to get it more and definitely go shopping more as well since she would often gatekeep most of her good items until it was a day she felt was worth wearing it.
She blew out a laughing breath at Claudia. "Yeah... we're definitely taking the small roads back."
