Sitting together at the grave, I asked Ella.
"How did you know I would be here?" Smiling with her head on my shoulder, she tells me her dad called and told her to look for me.
"Makes sense, this reminds me. I left Will all alone there." Standing up, I offer a hand to Ella. Helping her off the ground, we suddenly hear a woman's scream. Making eye contact with Ella, we nod our heads and sprint off to the origin of the scream.
Turning a corner onto a large dirt street. We see people looking at someone. "DAD!" Bumping into me, Ella runs past and I finally notice the person bleeding in a military uniform.
Running after her, I see Will hold his side. Helping him by the shoulder, I hear him whisper. "They took him." Not understanding, I asked who they took.
"Raven, they took Raven's body!" Screaming through his gridded teeth.
I felt my heart stop. For a second I tried to lay him on the ground only for him to yell. "Don't put me down! I'm not dying yet!" Chuckling about it, I apologized and asked him where should we go.
"Home of course! I'm gonna treat my wounds and tell you what happened-"
Suddenly he has his chest pierced by by a dark liquid. "WILL!" Almost falling down, only held up by me, I see him spit a mouthful of blood.
Turning around, I see three men in dark robes. "So many lost souls, how many will we reap for the Lantern?" The middle one says.
The two behind him, Pull a two-piece ball. Pushing each part together, they twist it and the sound disappears. Everyone looks around for a second, some snap their fingers only for nothing to happen.
"Now" Sending out a powerful explosion, I tackled Ella to the ground protecting her from the blast. Opening my eyes, I see the world lose its color. What once was a colorful street full of colorful people, is now a black and white world.
No, it's a dome in which all colors were lost. What once was Ella's water-like hair is now a collarless mess. Looking at the men in robes, I see them pumping energy into the now all-colorful orb.
Making eye contact with the middle guy, I barely unsheathe my sword to stop a glop of black ink. Flicking any remains of the blade, I see his eyes focus on it.
"That blade, it brings back bad memories." Raising his hand, the rope falls down revealing a hand held together by stitches and staples. "I'll gladly kill her disciple!"
Charging at me, his hands change into dark blades.
Not willing to argue with him about me not being her disciple, I raise the blade above my head and slash at his chest.
Cutting across his chest, I noticed a weird feeling. It's as if I didn't cut the flesh.
With my sword down, two of the other robed men jumped into the air from behind. "Shit!"
Bringing my sword to stop one of them, I'm left exposed to the other! Readying myself for the strike, a sudden blast of water sends him away. "You're my hero Ella!" Not even needing to look at who fired it, I kick away the guy in front of me.
Spinning the blade above their kneeling leader, I hear him say. "You're a fool."
Exploding from beneath me, spikes of dark goop stabbed at my clothes. Feeling the scratch against my skin through the layers of cloth. "Guess you're still looking after me, Raven!"
Snapping the hardened goo like sticks, I swing my fist at his face only for him to duck under.
Wrapping his hand around my elbow, I try to get out of his grab only to feel a jolt of pain.
Slapping my face with one of his hands, he starts to kick his knee into my stomach. Getting the air kicked out of me, I punch him into his side. Suddenly letting me go, I see him crumble to the ground in pain.
Falling to my knees as well, I hold my elbow. Lifting my head, I see the two other robed men get back. Seeing the blades almost touch my eyes, I-
Whips wrapped around their waist and with a single crack. Both of them are thrown into a building. Turning around, I see Will standing with the wire retracting back into his hands.
"I didn't spend 20 years in the army to just fall over and die from some cheap bastards like you!" Stabbing the wires into the ground, like roots they move through the ground before finally exploding.
Pircing the leg of one of the cultists, he spits out a mouthful of blood. Failing to his knee, the wires go soft. Pulling them out of their legs, I see Will fall into a puddle of his own blood.
The only thing colored in this world is one own blood.
I wanted to yell at him, but a sudden strike caught my attention. It's their leader. "BOYS! Rampage! No witnesses!" With those words, the two screamed as their bones pierced their skin.
"Shadow! Swallows!"
Their skin becomes black as night and their jaw unhinged and falls freely beneath their faces. "What is that?" Unknowingly taking a step back, I raise my blade.
"As long as it has a physical body it can be cut," I tell myself, even though I don't believe it that much. I hold my blade proudly.
*swoosh!* Flying past me I saw it. Jumping into the surrounding crowd of people that hid themselves inside the buildings. I saw them rip everyone apart.
"Shit!" Moving my leg, I feel the entire world slow down once again. With my blade above my head, I see their leader running towards Ella. Making a perfect line with the artifact and himself.
Ella is the priority!
Tensing my muscles, the golden blade's color returns. Shining more brightly than ever before, I spin the blade as it takes the form of a wolf.
*Awoo!* Cutting the air in a way, where it sounds like a howling wolf.
Cutting the orb and the cult leader along with it, I come to a stop. It was a large golden wolf who swallowed the orb and the leader. Flicking my blade the remains of blood and the wolf faded into the air.
Blood gushing out of my skin, I fall to my knees only held up by the sword.
Turning around, I see the color return to everything but the two beasts are still rampaging.
I try to lift my sword, but incoherent screams fill my head. Seeing men with green shoulder pads run at the beasts like there's no tomorrow. I feel a smile form on my face.
Letting go of the sword, I fall to the ground.
"KEN!"
