[Magi World] [Djinn]
I touched the stone slab. Instantly, a burst of white light engulfed me. I quickly shielded my eyes, and before I knew it, I found myself standing in a scorching desert. It seems I am the only one to get teleported. I looked around...
Endless sand!
I know that dungeons are dangerous and have various traps, but this. This is beyond my expectations.
Two freaking suns in the sky were dumping all that scorching heat on me, and as if that wasn't enough, a wave of scorching wind brushed past me, making me feel as if someone was air-frying me for their dinner.
It stings...
Well, let's move forward. I have to find a way out, fast. This is the land of death. No living being can survive here for long.
.
How long has it been since I started walking? I don't know. Everything is so hazy. I have my fair share of experience when it comes to the desert since I have completed many missions, be it a sand desert or an ice desert. So, when I started walking, I think- I was confident enough in my abilities to find a way out of this treacherous place.
But, alas...
I looked back to see how far I had walked, but there were no footsteps. Maybe the strong wind waves buried them under the endless sand.
At this point, I am nearly naked. I don't remember when I ripped my shirt off. My shoes had melted a moment ago. I remember that. Now only my trousers remain.
Huh?! My eyes fell on the sandy ground before me.
My shoes!
Yeah, these are my shoes. Although they are half-melted, I am certain that these are mine. A thought crossed my mind-
Am I walking in a circle?!
Fuck! What was I thinking? I should have picked something else, like that Ben 10's watch or a devil fruit. I just had to... Damn it! Which fucking djinn makes a dungeon like this?
I can't even scream or talk. My throat is parched and burning like hell. I am not even sweating anymore. My hands look so thin. It's as if my blood is evaporating in the absence of water.
Water!
I am thirsty...
Huh?! A tree! Shade! Must reach it... I dragged my weak body and made my way toward that tree. I don't care if that's real or an illusion. I... I just have to get under that shade.
.
[3rd Person POV]
A few meters away from Fred's location, a massive blue tree was standing tall under the hellish tormenting sun.
"F*ck, so hot," Fred mumbled. His skin was covered in blisters and cracks as he stumbled on the ground and fell on his knees, "Must reach..." He looked towards the giant blue tree, which seemed to be standing in its place without wavering or withering in the scorching heat.
Gritting his teeth, Fred stood up with his wobbly legs. His throat and mouth were parched under extreme heat, "Water..." He looked around but found only dry ground. Any river or water bodies, if there were any, are long dried up under the heat.
Shaking his head, Fred continued to walk towards his destination. He doesn't know how many hours have passed. His eyes became red. Smoke was rising from his skin. Blisters appeared all over his body. Yet, he continued towards his destination while dragging his feet, leaving trails of blood with each step.
"Haaa... Haaaa... Hufff!" Fred was breathing harder and harder as time passed. But that didn't stop him. His left eye was closed due to a blister over his eyelids. Through his right eye, he looked towards the giant blue tree.
"How much longer? There is a shade... Must reach the tree. Can't die here, not like this. Not again..." Fred tried to mumble but couldn't open his mouth. His jawbones were stuck together. The scorching heat has dried his flesh and skin. Before the blood could come out, it turned into red vapor.
"Why am I walking like a lunatic...? My spells... Why am I not using my skills? My wand!" Fred's hands went to his back pocket and took out his wand, but his mind was completely blank.
"Spells! I-I can't remember. I must reach that tree, but why can't I remember?" Fred fell to his knees, holding his head, trying to remember.
"... I can't remember... Water... Need water... Thirsty...," Fred panicked and tried to scream, but it was useless. No matter how hard he tried, it was useless. Other than water, he couldn't think of anything else. And on top of that, most of his body parts have stopped functioning. All he wanted was to drink some water.
Death!
Agony!
Hell!
Scorching hell!
Fred was at his extreme limits. He could feel his life flickering at that very moment. Death wasn't something Fred was unfamiliar with! But he wasn't ready to die yet, not when he just got a chance to live...
It's a miracle on its own that he has clung to his life this long while maintaining a bit of his sanity. Even in the face of the impossible, he refused to give up. He rejected death with his every cell. Had it been any other person, they would have either perished or taken their own life.
But not Fred...
On the verge of death, a thought came floating into his mind like an angel of hope.
Fred remembered one thing. Every magician can use certain magic just by casually waving their wands. So, without thinking further, he waved his wand, targeting the blue tree...
[Swoosh!] Fred's body turned into a mass of black energy and flew toward the tree at a blinding speed.
In a few seconds, he appeared under the shade of the blue tree.
...
...
[First person POV]
Huff! I jumped up in shock and looked around. I am standing under the blue tree! How? I-I don't remember much. But it doesn't hurt anymore... My body is as good as new. No injuries or anything.
"Interesting... Very interesting..."
The sudden rumbling voice gave me a jumpscare as my eyes went above the tree.
A black dragon!
It wasn't there when I was looking around just a moment ago. So, this fucker must be the djinn of this scorching hell. I read and saw the pictures of a phoenix djinn. More or less, I can remember all kinds of other djinn species, but this is my first time seeing a dragon species.
