"Here is your ice cream," Rayme handed over to him his ice cream and sat down beside him and continued to eat her ice cream.
"Can I have a bite out of your ice cream?" he asked out of nowhere
"No, I have never seen you eat butter scotch. I already got you your favourite Mint chocolate, also known as toothpaste." Rayme teased him.
"Lemme have a bite from yours," he said again.
"Alright, here you go," Rayme moved the ice cream closer to his lips for him to take a bite out of it. After he took a bit out of it, Rayme took a bite out of the same place he bit, hoping to tease him.
"So, this is how you like it?" He got moved closer to her, landing a kiss on her lips licking away the ice cream with his tongue.
"Yahhh!! There are people here." She shouted.
"Do you think I care?" He asked. "I was just kissing my girlfriend. If they have a problem with that ask them to deal with it themselves. Their problem is not my problem."
"Okay, okay, calm down now. You don't have to be that sarcastic. At this rate, the ice creams are going to melt away. So let's finish it, shall we?" Rayme said.
She was honestly happy about what had just happened. Though his words were a bit sarcastic, she felt love and warmth from those words.
"Then let's go see my grandma," he said, finishing his ice cream.
When they both came out of the Garden, the one who took them to the garden was already there waiting for them.
"Cancel the plans for this afternoon," Dylan said.
"In that case, will you be returning to the hotel with Lady Rayme, Master Dylan?" He asked.
"No, we are going to pay my grandma a visit. I already called and informed her. So you don't have to ask her or my parents. You can go back to the hotel. Since my car is here, I will be back. But I can't guarantee that I will be there for dinner."
"Alright Young Master Dylan. I will return to the hotel then. Have a safe trip back." The man left.
"Rayme, let's go." Dylan held her hand as he walked out.
Rayme's eyes went up in surprise when she saw the house at the end of the driveway that was in between trees. Beyond the trees where a wine yard. She was astonished by how big it was.
"So how many people live here with your grandma?" Rayme asked.
"Just my grandma and her husband. Sometimes my mother's parents are here too. I think I forgot to tell you that we were going to visit my paternal grandparents. Also, don't be scared or anything. They are not going to be strict or anything. Both my grandmas are so cool about everything."
"That's good to hear, cause I was kinda worried. Look at what I am wearing. I came prepared to go to the beach now I am going to your grandparents' house. I kinda felt uneasy wearing this."
"Seriously, don't worry about that. All of your worries will go away when you meet her."
He parked the car and opened the door for Rayme to get off.
"Ignore the fact that your grandparents live for a long time. Are you like super sure that you don't come from some kind of a royal family that used to rule a long time ago? Look at this architecture, the statues around the house, everything is so spectacular."
"Well, we do have some kind of royal background, but that is not what you think. If you are interested in ancient architecture, then you came to the correct place cause my grandma has been a lecturer for a long time now."
"Ohh, I see." she replied while walking up the stairs to the main door.
Even before Dylan knocked on the door, the main door opened and a lady who seemed to be in her late 40s came out and hugged Dylan. Rayme just stood there surprised, not knowing who that was.
"Oh Rayme, you must be wondering who this is. Let me introduce her to you. This is my grandma. Her name is Rose." He said while still being hugged.
"This must be my granddaughter in-law," she came towards with Rayme with open hands. Considering how old she was supposed to be and how she looked, Rayme just stood there, not knowing how to react. Rayme was treated with a warm hug instead of being cast out.
"Let's go in. Did you two have lunch?" Grandma Rose asked while walking in.
"Yes Grandma," Dylan answered.
"You shouldn't have been eating from the hotel when I am here to feed you, also why are you staying there in the first place? Am I invisible to you guys now?"
"No no grandma, calm down and listen to me. This was supposed to be a small vacation for me and Rayme because we don't have a chance to leave the house much."
"That still doesn't explain why you didn't come to stay with me," she said while taking a seat on the sofa.
"I am usually very chill about everything, but I am kinda surprised about the fact that you choose a human to be your bride. Interesting choice, but I personally don't think that this is not going to last for a long time, and this will not leave you guys at peace."
"We are already aware grandma, also we just got into this relationship, but that doesn't mean that I will be breaking up with her in the future. I even sucked her blood to quench my thirst, so I think it is my duty to be responsible."
"Dylan, are you telling me that you sucked her blood?" Grandma Rose questioned surprised.
"Well, yes I did. Mom and dad had no choice but to ask her for help. Also Rayme was kind enough to agree to it." Dylan continued.
"Dylan, there is something we need to discuss." Grandma Rose stood up.
"What is it Grandma? You can tell me that here. It doesn't really matter." Dylan said.
"Don't you dare talk back and come with me now!" She shouted, scaring Rayme. Not wanting to make the matters worse, Dylan got up to leave with grandma.
"My dear child, you can walk in the garden until we are done talking. I will send someone there with some snacks." She changed her tone when she talked to Rayme, which eased her heart a bit, but her heart was beating fast whenever she was thought of why she became so riled up.
"Then I will be taking my leave." Rayme left the room and stepped outside into the garden that was as big as a golf course. She walked among the trees and flowers until she encountered a greenhouse that was built out of glass. The metal work that beautified it, was done in gold, which made it look more majestic. She went in without thinking much.
"Oh, you must be my granddaughter in law," a man appeared from inside. Now Rayme was super clear about from where Dylan got all of his handsome features from.
"If my assumption is correct, you must be Dylan's grandfather."
"Oh yes, you are right, and I am glad that I didn't mistake my granddaughter-in-law as someone else. I am asking you just to make sure, is it true that you are a human?" He asked. Hearing this made Rayme want to run away, but she couldn't do that either.
"Young Lady, you don't have to be that scared of that question. I am not going to bite you or anything. I just wanted to make sure cause you have a bit of a vampire scent mixed in. So I was wondering."
"That must be because of the jewellery," Rayme answered.
"So you are the new owner of Lady Rosalyn's jewellery. I guess they found a new owner after a long time. Let me tell you, kiddo, you have a very strong soul and mind, otherwise the jewelry might have made you get sick a little until you get used to it."
"This process takes up to around 20 years for some people and some don't even survive."
"Ah I see, but may I ask you how may I call you? I am not really used to meeting royal class people like you." Rayme tried to be polite.
"Who the hell cares about those royal class stuff these days, there are totally nonsense. My name is Jonathan. You can call me grandpa or grandfather or whatever the way you prefer."
"Grandpa Jonathan, it is then." Rayme said with a smile.
"Oh come in," he said all of the sudden. When Rayme turned around to see what it was, it was an enormous cart full of sweets and pastry. Her eyes went up in surprise once again.
"Take a seat," Grandpa Jonathan said, showing the chair to Rayme.
"Thank you."
"So Rayme, you can ask me anything you want. I am pretty sure that you have so many questions that you want to ask."
