Chapter 14 - A Vampire in Making

Rayme opened her eyes, but it was already night. She saw Dylan asleep by her side. She called his name, unable to move.

Upon hearing her voice, he woke up.

"Oh Rayme, I thought you were no longer going to wake up. I was so worried. How are you feeling now?" He kept questioning.

"I am want to move but I have no energy to move around. Can you give me some water? My throat feels so dry."

"Wait! lemme help you up," he helped her sit on the bed and handed over the cup of water and helped her drink it.

"Rayme, I am really sorry for everything, but don't worry, I have a way to fix it." He held onto her hands tight. "I am really sorry. I never thought something like this would happen to you because of me. I am really sorry," he repeated again.

"What I realized during the 2 days you have been unconscious was that, if something happened to you. I will never be able to live. I have gotten so used to staying with you that now I can't imagine my world without you. Even if the whole world is going to be against me and you, I will be there protecting you, even if it means that I have to die."

"Dylan, calm down. I am feeling more than okay. It is surprising to hear that I was out for 2 days but don't worry, I am feeling good as new." Rayme said.

"Rayme, I know you are feeling okay now, but don't you feel any rage towards me? I am the reason why you are sick like this. If I hadn't bitten you twice that day, this wouldn't have happened."

"Calm down for now. Whatever I did, I did it with my own accord. No one forced me to do anything. What ever I did, it was for you, and do you think I would have done it just because your parents asked me to? I did it because I wanted to. After all, I was the one who was looking forward to be bitten by you."

"My grandma is making what we need to bring you back to normal. After you drink it, you will be good as new. For now, you should take a good rest," Dylan got up from the bed.

In her mind, she was thinking about something else, since two days had already passed. The days they had to spend together were coming to an end. Everything she was looking forward to do with him was still there without nothing done. She felt as if she ruined their perfect moments together.

"Dylan, you must feel disappointed with me, right?"

"For what reason should I be disappointed in you?" He asked, surprised.

"I ruined the trip and all the things we were looking forward to do." She talked in a tone of grief and disappointment.

"No Rayme, you didn't," he turned back and held onto both of her hands. I am the reason why everything turned out this way. So Please don't think like that.

"I will go and get my grandma." She will take care of you.

"Hmm," Rayme sighed, letting go of his hand.

In a minute, Dylan's grandma rushed into the room. "Child, how are you feeling now?" She asked.

"I am feeling better now, grandma, the headache is all gone. I am think I am all fine now." Rayme said.

"Rayme, by any chance are you still feeling thirst even though you drank water and do you have the urge of wanting to consume more liquids?"

"That's true. How do you know?" Rayme asked, surprised.

She was indeed feeling a thirst that wasn't going away, even though she already drank some water. She ignored that feeling, thinking that it was because she didn't consume anything while she was asleep.

"Dylan, give her some of your blood. That will help her calm down, otherwise the feeling of wanting to drink of liquids will suffocate her." Grandma rose said. The words that came out of her mouth made Ryme's heart skip a beat. Her heart was beating so fast and she was scared, wondering what had happened to her.

Grandma left the room, leaving Rayme and Dylan alone. Rayme just kept staring at Dylan's eyes, wanting answers even before she would ask all the questions she had in her mind.

"Rayme, calm yourself for now. I know that you don't have fangs or anything like that to bite into me or absolutely no idea on how to put blood into your mind. For now, don't ask me questions. I will answer all of your questions once you are alright."

"This all happened because I bit you before I consumed your blood."

Dylan opened the drawer that was beside Rayme's bed and pulled out a dagger. Without thinking twice, he slid it across his palm and put the dagger away.

Rayme's eyes changed the moment she saw the blood dripping from his hand. She was staring at his bleeding hand as if they answered all of her questions. Her eyes were green and shining like emeralds. Though she didn't have fangs in her mouth, she looked like a predator who became aroused after seeing blood.

She jumped onto Dylan, pinning him down to the bed, and grabbed his hand and licked all the dripping blood and sucked his wound so hard that even he was starting to feel pain. He bit onto his lips while holding her tight onto him with his hand.

While all this happened, Rayme was aware but couldn't control herself or stop herself.

The moment she was done taking her last sip of his blood, she collapsed onto him. Dylan slowly grabbed her and moved her head onto a pillow and lied down alongside her, stroking her hair. He wiped down the blood on her lips and face.

He was glad that she wasn't looking pale anymore. Rayme was sleeping so soundly, as if nothing happened a moment ago. Dylan held onto her and closed his eyes.

"Dylan, wake up, will you? When are you going to stop holding onto an unmarried girl?" Dylan and Rayme both woke up to Grandma Rose's voice.

"Oh sh*t," he said, letting go of Rayme.

"Grandma, it's not what you think." I hugged her, then I fell asleep even before I realized. Dylan started making excuses.

"Alright, I know about kids these days more than anyone. Also, I didn't expect you to think that far. I am just telling you that it's inappropriate to sleep with a girl whom you are not married to.

I know that is not a huge deal these days, but remember that you come from a conservative family."

Rayme just stayed silent, not knowing what to answer with, but that was not what was bothering her mind. It was the fact that she sucked Dylan's blood when it was the opposite that should have happened.

"You guys, take a shower and come down for breakfast. Rayme's medicine is almost done. It needs another few hours of boiling and all your problems will be solved."

"Thank you, grandma," Dylan said while adjusting the blanket over Rayme. We will be down in a bit.

"Rayme, you stay like that. I will call a servant to help you take a bath. My grandma would have helped you, but the medicine that is being prepared needs a lot of care and attention. If something goes wrong, everything will only get worse."

"Dylan," Rayme said. She had a perfect plan in her mind to spend some romantic time with him before they go back. She was feeling the urge to be with him even more tha before.

"Let's take a shower together," she said, looking straight into his eyes.

"Oh hell no, I am going to call my grandma here. If she catches me in the bathroom with you. I am going to get smacked by the broom." Dylan got up from the bed, his cheeks were so pink after a while.

"There is no need to tell her. Just help me take a shower. It's not like we are going to be doing something in the bathroom." She said.

"Hmm," he said.

"Then I will go and fill up the bathtub for you," he went into the bathroom to turn on the tap. Before he went in he made sure to grab a fresh rose that was sitting beside her bed.

"Lemme help you in then," he said, putting the blanket aside. Dylan held tight onto Rayme, slowing walking her to the bathroom.

"Dylan, do me a favour," Rayme said.

"Yes, tell me."

"Can you help me take off my clothes?" she said out of nowhere, making his jaws drop.

"Wait, lemme, grab you a towel first. He went into the bathroom and returned." His mind wasn't mature enough to understand Rayme's plan, so he wrapped the towel around her and slowly unzipped her dress.
