Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Medical Assassins

Jericho, Tenshi, and Liz looked at each other in confusion. They had been prepared to defend themselves against a group of assassins, but now it seemed like these assassins were actually there to help them.

As Jericho laying on his makeshift bed, Daine began her work to treat his wounds. She was meticulous in her approach, using both modern medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. As a woman of mixed Chinese and Spanish descent, she had been raised in China and trained in the ways of ancient medicine.

She started by cleaning the wounds with alcohol and applying a special balm made of rare herbs. This balm not only reduced the pain but also sped up the healing process. Next, she used acupuncture to stimulate the healing energy in his body.

Daine's hands moved with grace and precision as she worked. The room was silent except for the occasional sound of needles piercing Jericho's skin. Time seemed to stand still as she continued her work, and Jericho's wounds began to heal rapidly.

As she worked, Jericho started to stir. He opened his eyes and saw Daine bending over him, her beauty radiating like a beacon in the dark. She was a tall, combative woman with a fierce determination and a gentle touch. Despite her combat skills, she was also a highly trained medical professional, and her expertise showed in her work.

Jericho's wounds were healing fast, and he felt the pain slowly dissipating. He was filled with gratitude for Daine's care and felt a sense of trust in her abilities. He knew that he was in good hands, and he felt a sense of comfort knowing that he was being treated by one of the best medical assassins in the world.

"Your medical skills are unmatched, Daine," said Tenshi, his voice filled with admiration. "I have heard rumors of your ability to make death look like an accident or a natural cause."

Daine smiled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. That is just one of her many skills, she is also skilled in fighting and considered one of the top-tier mercenaries in the world. And, perhaps most importantly, She has the ability to bring the dead back to life.

Jericho, Tenshi, and Liz were all struck by the power and confidence that radiated from Daine. Despite her petite stature, she seemed to carry herself with a weight and authority that was almost palpable.

As the team rests under a tree, Zee arrived with a grin on her face. "Daine, I've got something special for dinner tonight!" she announced, holding up a large sack filled with the spoils of her hunt.

Daine raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What did you catch today?" she asked.

"Six wild boars!" Zee exclaimed, beaming with pride. "They were no match for me, even in the dense jungle."

Jericho watched in amazement as Zee laid out the freshly caught boars, cleaning and preparing them for cooking. He had never seen such skill and grace in hunting before, and couldn't help but admire Zee's abilities.

As they sat down to eat, Daine explained that Zee was not only a skilled hunter, but also an expert in charming animals and obtaining animal extracts needed for producing medicines. She was a valuable asset to their team, and an important part of their mission.

After dinner, Jericho felt a renewed energy, his wounds healing rapidly with the combination of modern medicine and traditional Chinese remedies that Daine administered. He couldn't help but feel grateful for the presence of this talented and beautiful medical assassin in his team.

As the night went on, the group continued to chat and get to know each other. Tenshi found himself particularly drawn to Daine, and he couldn't help but feel a strange connection with her. However, he quickly pushed these thoughts aside, reminding himself of his oath as a swordsman and his commitment to serving his friends.

As they all sat around the campfire, Jericho's wounds were finally starting to heal with the help of Daine's expertise in medicine. The team discussed their next steps and it was decided that they needed to find out who the unknown benefactor.

However, Jericho was not as eager to involve Daine and her team in his personal revenge against the person who betrayed him. He had a deep mistrust of anyone in the medical assassin profession, and he didn't want to drag them into his dangerous vendetta.

"I appreciate everything that you have done for me, Daine," Jericho said, looking up at the tall, combative woman who had treated his wounds. "But I need to handle this on my own."

"Jericho, you can't go after the person who betrayed you alone," Tenshi interjected. "You need backup and support. We are all in this together, remember?"

"Tenshi is right," Liz added. "We've been through a lot together, and we won't abandon you now. We'll help you figure out who the traitor is and take them down together."

Jericho sighed, knowing that his team was right. He couldn't go at it alone and he needed their support. He reluctantly agreed to work with Daine and her team to uncover the truth and bring the person who betrayed him to justice.

"Okay," Jericho said, finally giving in. "We'll work together to find out who the unknown benefactor is. But we have to be careful. These people are dangerous, and I don't want any of you getting hurt."

With that, the team set out to gather information and plan their next move. They knew it wouldn't be easy, but they were determined to uncover the truth and bring the person who betrayed Jericho to justice.

In the end, the group agreed to work together to uncover the truth about the mysterious benefactor who had summoned Daine and her team to the island. They had no idea what kind of danger they would face in the coming days, but they were ready to face it head on.

As the night came to a close and the group settled down for the night, a sense of unease settled over them. They all felt as if they were being watched, and they couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to happen.
